This is our absolute favorite pho spot in MoCo! The broth and the meat toppings are top notch, and all of the ingredients are very fresh. We love their spring rolls as well, although they are so filling that you might have a hard time finishing your pho. They follow COVID rules really well, and they have designated tables where you can sit if you choose to dine in (when that is allowed by the county or state). Their pho even tastes great delivered, and that doesn't happen too often. They also offer really tasty Thai milk teas, although I'm sure it's not their specialty and it's mostly pre-mixed. Self-Serve Style Portion: Big Customer Service - I can't believe an Asian-serving establishment actually has any customer service but the people here actually speak fluent English & are nice. I have been enjoying Pho for the past three years now, my Cambodian friend introduced me to Pho because she would dine at Pho restaurants often. I had been going to Pho 81 located off a 355 in germantown Maryland for almost a year because that was the closest place to my house and the only one I had noticed in Gaithersburg. The service began to plummet at Pho 81 and the decor was boring me. For the past 2 years I have been Pho restaurant shopping trying to find a Nice Pho dine in restaurant. So without further due I was so happy when I found out that Pho & Grill was opening up in Gaithersburg. The decor was very modern; Wood floors, granite counter tops and table tops, along the wall they even have booths !! Photographs of still life foods and spices line the walls and the music is very relaxing. I love it . We ordered two orders of beef Pho that was $6.50 for a small and a dollar and some change for a sprite, our total came to 15 bucks and some change. The staff was actually smiling and polite. If you are ready to change your depressing Pho experience go here. Sometimes at Vietnamese restaurants the menu can get confusing, the menu was basic and easy to understand, basically meat with rice. The reviews for this place are pretty good so I thought I would try it out. I like the lean beef pho, which is something that they do not offer after chatting with an employee. He suggested that I order the #1, the medium rare eye round. It was a lean meat but way too rare for me. I opened the take out box when I got home and it was super rare, I saw blood from the meat - not for me. Medium is fine; I think of that as pink but not red... I know that the hot broth should 'cook' the pho but it didn't make much of a difference when I tried that. I put the meat in the skillet and cooked it and it was fine. I also has the summer rolls and those were good. So because of the rare pho I'll probably stick to other places that have more menu options. My expectations were low for a run of the mill strip mall Pho & Grill. I am happy to share that my expectations were met. Food prices were high and the portions low. If you are going to up charge for protein two small slices of pork don't count. Sorry. I am a meat eater. Insulting me with two slivers of meat is just an insult. The staff was friendly enough, a tad slow on the water refills, but nice enough. The flavor was nice, not great or memorable but you won't get sick so there is that. (That is NOT a promise as you could get sick or you could not get sick, depends on your constitution.) Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! Very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was quite cordial. Food came out super fast which was good for us since we were really hungry but others might consider the pace a bit rushed since our appetizers came out three or four minutes before our main course. Either way, the classic spring rolls were delicious! Fresh, crunchy, not overly oily. I had the veggie pho and while I wish the broth had a bit more flavor, it was still good. After shopping at Costco and craving pho, the boyfriend and I came here because Pho Chi was still closed at 11:10am even though they say they open at 11:00am. The place looks very nice, nestled in a newer shopping area with Trader Joes. You order up front and seat yourself. This place use to be the best place but it's slowly losses it consistency in food and bubble teas. I used eat here almost everyday before Covid hit. Now it's once and a blue moon. The pho is good but not the best. The peanut sauce that use to come with the shrimp rolls was the best especially having the bits of peanut on top of the sauce made it very delicious. 5 stars aren't enough! Let's just say I just placed my THIRD delivery order in the last 10 days. I was a little hesitant based on the older reviews but whoever owns the restaurant now deserves tons of kudos. Plus free delivery! My first order was a personalized pho bowl and it came with all the right ingredients, one container for the soup, and another bowl where I can simply dump everything in. It hit the spot right away, not too oily, not too salty, just the right amount of each ingredient. I also got the cold cuts banh mi and O.M.G it was AMAZING! I couldn't decide which to eat and ended up having half of both. The bread was still warm with the perfect crunch and they didn't skimp out on the ingredients either. It was just perfection! My husband was working in the vicinity of my office so he stopped by to take me out to lunch. Pho and Grill is just down the street from my office. When we walked in, I was a little confused. We were not greeted. Do we wait to be seated? Do we just sit down and wait for a server? My husband saw an "order here" sign so he said he thinks we order there and sit down, so that's what we did. The place has a nice decor, modern. The restaurant appeared clean. I liked it that there was music and it was not too loud. I loved the photo menu on the wall. ...it made my mouth water. We ordered the Grilled Pork Rolls, which was fresh and light. We also both ordered the large Pho with With brisket, flank, fatty flank, tendon and tripe. The food came out quick! My husband loved the broth. I thought the pho noodles were really fresh and so were the garnish. The price of the large Pho was around $7.95, which is comparable to other Pho restaurants in the area. After we were done dining, we left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. And we were able to dine and come back to my office within my 1 hour lunch break, with no hurry and time to spare. read more

Ordered the pork bun mi, and spring roll, total of $11.29 WASTE!!! Pork was not flavorful at all! The bun had no taste at all! The spring roll was not was I expected, since on the wall they have a picture and it's suppose to be small rolls, deep fried! Instead I got 2 long pieces, that my 2 year old was not happy with! We hate having to write this review after being such loyal customers after 3 years of coming twice a month to this restaurant with our family of five. We went on Friday evening for a quick dinner. It's Pho how long could the wait be for broth and raw meat? 45min to almost an hour of waiting!!!! No explanation at first as to why the delay or even the wait staff coming to our table to advise of the delay. Multiple patrons went up to complain. Multiple excuse from different staff to different clients. Our waitress told us it was a new Pho recipe that was causing the delay. A gentleman then stated they were short staffed. A table was given spring rolls while we all waited. It was obvious that this party were personal friends of the waiter. No offers to any other patron to "hold them over". When one lady finally went up to complain THERE WAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE EVEN ATTEMPTED !!! As she finally had enough and walked out, the waiter stood in the middle of the restaurant and at the top of his voice says "I dont give a fuck if you leave!" You know what? The vulgarity in front of my children was horrible. The lack of trying to improve our diner service was horrible. The lack of care for the long time clients like ourselves was horrible. We will never be back again. I hope the management truly reads this and takes this to heart. My family of 5 pays about $60 each visit. We go to this restaurant 1-2 times a month. $120 a month from this family. $1440 a year that you have now lost because you obviously dont care about your patrons. Ordered pho tai and egg rolls to go, both were awesome. The beef was perfectly thin and cooked just right upon adding the broth, which was also delicious. Below average bowl of pho. It just doesn't taste as complex as some of the bowls at the better establishments, which I suppose makes it a good beginner pho. They also put MSG in literally EVERYTHING. I asked if they had anything on their menu without MSG for my girlfriend at the time, and the young man on the phone was shocked to hear from his manager that everything has MSG in it! While I will definitely choose elsewhere for my pho fix, the service is really good, and the people are friendly. They also just started serving bun bo hue (which again kind of sucked). If you are looking for a quick healthy bite to eat, not too concerned with the flavor or presentation, not wanting to spend too much money, than this is the perfect place. The Pho broth is good but not always consistently good. Neither is the meat portions they give you. The rolls are OK. Barely any shrimp and mostly rice noodles. If they are busy, the rolls are usually made poorly and fall apart. I would avoid the Bahn Mi sandwiches. They are bland and on the small side. read more

Got no jelly and drink was full of ice. Asked for light ice on the other drink, and again, drink full of ice. You get more ice than the drink at this place. Specified the order to be cancelled if they weren't able to fulfill the order for any reason. Instead they decided to do what they wanted. I don't know if they think that if people order delivery, they can mess up the order just because we're not there in person. Chargebacks do exist. Too bad because they're food menu items are good. Sometimes I feel like I should be on the Yelp payroll with as many "adjust business location" modifications I do on the app. Pho & Grill was one of them, with the original directions putting me on the other side of the strip mall when trying to find it for lunch recently. Well, I guess it gave me something to do while waiting for my food, which wasn't very long before the Pho with meatballs arrived at my table. Of course this was after I ordered at the back counter first, which seemed a little odd since it's a sit-down restaurant. There are very few pho places that serve chicken pho with chicken broth and this place is one of them. My friend who is a vegetarian also loves this place since its tough for her to find a place that serves veg pho with veg broth. Unaware of how the actual beef broth pho tastes, I know I love the chicken pho I order here. I always order the summer roll which is always so fresh and crisp tasting. The peanut sauce that comes with it is simply perfect! The small pho is just the right size as well. The broth is so much better than other pho places I've tried. The banh mi is below average. I ordered the banh mi with tofu for $4.77, and the entire sandwich was very bland. The sandwich lacked the flavor and boldness that I expect from a banh mi. I was disappointed. Thankfully, I also visited Chipotle and ordered a sofritas burrito with guacamole before visiting Pho & Grill. I ate both the burrito and banh mi together at my friend's house while we watched Ken Jennings dog everyone in Jeopardy. Great potential, but has serious room for improvement... hopefully ones that will leave me feeling a little less awkward next time. This pho restaurant is one-of-a-kind, in the sense that they have you order the same way you would at a Noodles & Company. You walk up to the counter, order and pay first, and then you're handed a number, and you proceed to find your own seating. I have yet to come across any other Pho restaurant in the DMV that goes through the same service-process, so I'm completely open and intrigued, BUT there are still many kinks that need to be worked out. First off, if you're gonna be a one-of-a-kind pho joint, you should know that people who walk into a pho restaurant are accustomed to having someone greet and seat them. Therefore, when I walked into the restaurant and stood, waiting by the door, looking dumbfounded after a bit because all the servers were just standing by the bar and looking at me, I would have greatly appreciated someone even just shouting out, "Order up front, please!". I eventually sat down, took a good look around and finally noticed the "Order here" sign. Moving on, I make my way to the counter, order what I want, and pay with a card. I notice that my receipt allows for me to add gratuity... and this completely throws me off, because last I checked, when you're ordering and seating yourself at a restaurant, you're not typically suppose to leave behind gratuity. It is with that, AND the fact that I haven't actually been serviced yet in any kind of way, that I continue to feel just slightly awkward and confused. Last but not least, we get to the quality of the food. I ordered pho, and flan, both of which were nothing short of mediocre. The flan tasted like generic flan you'd buy at one of the lesser-quality Eden bakeries, and the pho was seriously bland. Aside from all that, I bit into the green, jalapeno peppers that are always served on the side of my pho, and they were so ridiculously spicy, I almost stopped eating. I love adding some spice to my food, but I could have used a bit of a warning. Maybe I got a particularly spicy pepper? Oh, did I mention? Worst tasting tap water I've had at any restaurant. I wanted to spit it out, and it just made me feel gross. I do like that this chain is trying something new, and I also like the fact that they offer other dishes besides pho, but this experience has left me a bit... blah. Great little Vietnamese restaurant. The food is tasty. The restaurant is clean. The service is good and quick. What more could you ask for? I'm here way more often than I'd like to admit. It's my go-to for random don't-want-to-cook nights. The grilled pork roll is delicious. It's got this stick of smoky goodness inside that really differentiates it from other spring rolls. It's always a soul-searching decision to choose between pho and a grilled pork/beef vermicelli dish. Both are tasty and basically the same thing you'd find at any other decent Vietnamese restaurant. The servers are friendly and always ready to help you out. The older lady, who I'm assuming is the owner and/or manager, chides the servers if they do something wrong. Not that it happens often. It's a rare Vietnamese restaurant that offers a casual and relaxed atmosphere with a pretty contemporary decor and uniformly good food. Pho & Grill in the Montgomery Village Plaza shopping center is one such restaurant. Opened only last week, Pho & Grill limits itself to a few excellent dishes such as Rolls and Noodles or Rice dishes, along with several choices of Pho, including beef and chicken, which you can customize with your choice of meats. The mouth-watering grilled lemon grass pork and lemon chicken are a perfect blend of spices, flavor, and tenderness that marry well with the delicious nuoc mam dipping sauce. Among the rolls, the Nem Nuong Cuon is the best of the lot and compares favorably - for the Nem Nuong Cuon aficionados in the know - to those at Brodard, the famous Little Saigon eatery in Orange County CA, and the old Nha Trang in Falls Church, VA. If you have yet to try Nem Nuong Cuon (with the crispy center and the orange color dipping sauce - not the hoisin/peanut variety), you've been missing out! Then they told us to get up to the counter and order. Then I had to pay right then and there... and TIP (paying with cc)! I know they were "attempting" to make this similar to many other delis, etc but why bother even sitting me only to have me get up and order??? Absurd. Following the order, I sat down already pertubed and waited for our order. They brought our spring rolls (can't mess this up) and summer rolls (mediocre) and I had just gulped down my Coke after a late night of boozing. I asked for a refill and they said that it will cost another $1.75 but they can give me an unlimited supply of water! $1.75 for a damn coke! I can get a 2-liter for that price! Unlimited supply of water? Who the eff are you? Nice heads up on the unlimited tap water ass. Needless to say, I went back to the register to pay for another damn Coke and waited... and waited... and waited... Halfway into my mediocre Pho, I went to the register to ask for my Coke and the owner asks his servers where it was. She says, "Oh, I didn't know who it belonged to so I didn't serve it." The place is much cleaner than most pho places :) I also like the selections they have, most pho places only serve pho. Don't understand why this place gets such high reviews. Maybe its the fact that the inside looks more comfortable then other pho places. Or maybe its the fact that the service smiles when they talk to you. Either way, that stuff isn't nearly as important as the food. Here? The food is dismal. I've held off on writing a review until I've been here 5 times because maybe they had bad days or qc isn't that good. No, after the 3rd time experiencing the so-so at best pho and twice getting the mediocre rice dishes I've come to the conclusion that this place really isn't that good. Wouldn't you? If you go, get some of the rice dishes. The pho really isn't that good. If you want pho, there are better places around. Like Tran Dinh, which is literally around the corner and down the street. Food- Pretty good. Definitely above average pho and summer rolls. I'm fairly new to the banh mi thing, this being my second, but I liked it. Good bubble tea with lots of flavors as well! Price- Very affordable. Atmosphere- Very nice when you consider the price and in comparison with other pho places. Not fancy, but good enough for a regular semi casual date. I'd almost want to compare it to a Panera or Noodles n Company type place as it's got a contemporary but cute atmosphere thing going on and you order your food more fast food style than in other pho places but they bring it out to you. Service- Friendly and helpful. Mostly younger people working the front of the house- friendly and welcoming.
