Delicious, crave-able Vietnamese dishes in the MoCo area! This was a return visit after trying them out for the first time a few weeks ago. They were able to accommodate a party of 12 people on a Sunday afternoon and seated us pretty quickly. Our orders consisted of fried and fresh rolls to start, then vermicelli noodles with chicken, pork, and beef for our mains. Food was a good temperature and vermicelli was served with the most flavorful fish sauce. All came out so appetizing! We tried the Vietnamese coffee this time and it didn't disappoint! HORRIBLE after NEW OWNER TOOK OVER We first started coming to this restaurant in 2017/2018, and loved every thing we ordered, from quality of the food, to efficiency of the service. Back then, the broth was delicious and portion of the food was decent, so was the quality of the meat and noodles. We were a regular of this restaurant until 2023 when moved away to a different county. Yesterday, August 14 , 2026, we decided to drive 1+ hr to eat here after couple of yr away from this area, and we were disappointed, disappointed, disappointed I could tell something was off from the first bite into the pho. We ordered 4 bowls of pho, summer roll , tofu roll, and a side of grilled chicken & here is our detailed review on each: PHO- the noodles were falling apart, in all 4 bowls, we had hard time to picking them up with chopsticks. And it tasted carby like either it was under cooked or overcooked but frozen then didn't defrost properly. Broth was so-so, i had to add so much sauce to make it eatable. The soul of pho is in the broth, & these pho didn't have that at all. MEAT- our beef pho barely had any meat in it. We ordered #6 and two #10. The piece of meat in each was countable by one hand and they were so hard to chew. Side Grilled CHICKEN-the server brought me a bowl of side chicken soup instead. Got our order completely wrong. Then when the $11 side chicken came, there were only 4 pieces ‍ ... Summer roll and Tofu roll - were ok, we didn't find weird things inside of them....luckily Service- the 2 young guys waited behind the counter were nice, but lack of efficiency. Took wrong order & were apologetic. PRICES- $15 for a small bowl of pho with barely any meat and broken noodles that were under defrosted by the not hot enough and tastless broth... i say is way tooo overpriced Atmosphere- plain & simple same as before. Final words to the new management: if you plan to maintain a long lasting & successful business that was built by the previous owners ( you kept the original name), PLEASE learn the soul of this business and don't crumble it. read more

Came here by myself to see if this local spot was good or not. Food was delicious! The summer rolls were very filling. The pho had a perfect ratio of meat and noodles, and it wasn't too fatty. Prices are very affordable. Service was amazing, my waiter was bilingual and made me feel welcomed when taking the time to explain the menu. We had such a great experience here! Grace was our server and she was incredibly sweet and attentive. We arrived before the rest of our party and she went out of her way to make sure my 5-year-old was comfortable and taken care of while we waited. That really meant a lot. The food was absolutely delicious--everything came out fresh and flavorful and my son actually ate all his food (which says a lot!). The menu has a ton of variety, so there's definitely something for everyone... And we can't forget the mango smoothie--my son loved it! Overall, amazing service and great food. I was hoping to find bahn mi, abs actually was searching for a restaurant that was on the Great Food Truck Race a while back. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess immediately asked if I would be eating in or carry out. I replied carry out, and do you serve bahn mi? She said no. As I had a VERY urgent need to use the facilities, rather than marching straight back to the restroom, I requested permission, and she replied, are you going to order? I said probably not today. She simply said, "For customers only.", with a smirk on her face. I don't know why she couldn't have let me use the bathroom, even though they apparently have an (understandable) policy, with no sign indicating this (!) to not let just anybody come in off the street to use the bathroom. In fact, if she had allowed me to do so, I likely would have looked at the menu after my urgency was relieved, and quite possibly may have ordered something for the road. All I can say is that she missed the opportunity to extend grace and kindness, and the result is that I will never consider returning to this establishment for food, drink or anything else, for that matter! Family own restaurant, quite casual style - nothing is fancy but thier food is always good. Looks small and little old dining room but it's very clean and organize well. Service isn't very formal but that's fine, feel like home cook, not too long to wait for food. Thier beef dish is very nice. price and portion of food are reasonable. Too bad their menu is quite limited if you compare to another Vietnamese restaurant around Silver Spring, MD area. Still has enough good choices for picking and trying, though!!! My family had a dinner tonight. Right at the start the waitress told us that only pho is available and no grill after 8 pm. It was even 8 pm then! Exactly at 8:30 they lowered the lights to dim as a very rude suggestion to leave while we were still eating. The staff kept giving us unwelcome glances and stares literally hovering over us. I thought this was outrageously rude. At 8:33 the waitress came to our table and told us to leave. My husband took another spoonful and then the busboy practically snatched the bowl from under him. My husband then paid and said that we are never going to be back. The staff said nothing. We have been coming to this restaurant since they opened and this is how they reward our loyalty. We have been patronizing this business under the old owners for years. This rudeness cannot be rewarded with a repeat business. One star is too many. read more

Some years ago we were in our favorite Tex Mex/Latin restaurant when our waiter started talking about how much he likes Pho An. We happened to be in Aspen Hill around lunch time and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is small with some tables and an ordering window. It was nice and clean, no frills, and we immediately got a friendly greeting. We explained we were doing carry-out so went to the window and placed our order. We had decided on white meat chicken with a beef broth and and an order of Spring rolls. We usually avoid beef but thought the broth would be more flavorful than the vegetable broth. We walked around to get to our car parked in the opposite side of the shopping center and by the time we drove back closer to Pho An our order was ready. When we unpacked our order at home we were quite happy. The noodles and chicken were in one container. The chicken looked like some of the best I've ever seen in a Pho order. The broth was in a separate container and there was a bag with jalapenos and sprouts. It was one of the best Pho I've ever had and we've tried a lot of places. The chicken was perfect and the broth didn't disappoint. The Spring rolls were also good with their small container of peanut sauce. I told Rich I think we've found a new go-to Pho place. read more

This unassuming pho place holds its own. I got the pho ga #17 with white chicken. The broth had nice balance, the sprouts, mint leaves, and jalapeno slices were fresh and appealing. The sauce selection allowed me to doctor the broth with added salt, and heat. I will say that the chicken is usually too firm whenever I order chicken pho, and this was the case again. But I noticed that dark meat chicken was an option, and I think I'll try that next time. I had good service, and the staff was friendly. This restaurant is located within one of the Aspen Hill shopping centers next to Michael's. The pho here is cheap for the area and for the most part, hit the spot! However, it is not my favorite pho because the broth has too strong of a star anise flavor compared to other pho restaurant's broths. I also wish their pho menu was a bit simpler - there is a million combos of meats and it took a long time to read through. I'm used to just a few options and picking the best combo, but there are so many combos that I don't know the difference between them (it was like a find the difference game...they were all so similar). My mom has had their egg rolls in the past, said they were just ok. The interior is pretty old but a big open space, service is pretty standard. Overall rating is 3 1/2 stars. Good pho, delicious summer rolls, nice/helpful staff, modest atmosphere but very clean. Very easy to park. We have been discouraged by our last two visits to Mi La Cay in Wheaton so when I stumbled upon Pho An & Grill while doing some errands I thought I'd give it a try. They are located in a strip mall on Aspen Hill Road between Ct. Ave and Georgia Ave. (For some reason the directions on Yelp route you up past Aspen Hill Road and then have you backtrack on Georgia Ave.) At 12:00 noon on a Monday the restaurant was full. I was served my pho and summer rolls within minutes of ordering. Eye of round in the pho was fully cooked which I'm not used to with pho, but it was tasty and fairly tender. Summer rolls were nicely rolled and filled and the peanut sauce was good. We will be back soon. read more

I'm not a huge Pho person but loved this small family owned restaurant. I had #30 Beef with vermicelli noodles and tried the pho with chicken. My bowl had some fresh lettuce, cucumbers, peanuts and bean sprouts with vermicelli noodles and seasoned beef with a vinegar sauce that was slightly sweet and tangy. They also have table condiments with garlic chili paste which is great to add some heat to your dish. My dish wasn't over the top but it was fresh and very good beef. The Pho broth was hot and had a hint of cinnamon in it. Served with basil, jalapeños, and bean sprouts on the side. We got the fried egg rolls which were really good. Will have to go back a try some other menu items. Prices were very reasonable and our waiter was very good and a little funny. He made my day! read more

This is my go to place if I'm in the mood for bun bo hue! It's the only place I can find decent bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup) in the Maryland area. The key to this soup guys is all in the broth! It has to have the spicy, salty and lemongrass flavor and this totally hits the nail on the head! I'm not exactly a Pho connoisseur but this is my spot when I get the craving (or a cold). I get the #17 pho ga with white meat chicken in beef broth. I have them add meatballs, which in my opinion, really ties the dish together along with the sauce. I get it to go and they package the toppings and condiments in a nice little to go bag so you can add the additional flavors to your liking. I have to disagree with my fellow yelpers who have complained about the service. Based on other reviews I was expecting some sort of fiasco when I came here for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. The owners young son (I think?) takes the orders and the dad rushes around waiting on the tables while bringing carryout orders. Every single time I've been here there are at least eight or so tables of people dining in. The family is very courteous and I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for carryout. I've been coming here since this place opened and used to get okay service. It's been a few months and I decided to come here today for pho. It was empty so I picked a spot where I might have to plug in my laptop. "Danny" took my order. He's the same one who told me years ago to try something different. He wasn't very friendly (to me) today either...but was friendly and chatty with everyone else. When my order came it was wrong. I ordered soft spring rolls but got fried. I didn't bother complaining. The thing is, I sat here for a good 20-25 minutes and neither of the folks working (who have been seeing me come here for years) even stopped to ask how things were...but had plenty to say to everyone else. I know a lot of people from other countries have bought into the sentiment that people who look like me don't deserve the level of service others get. It's just starting to get ridiculous. They probably think we can't read...or write reviews either. But this is mine...and this is my last time coming here. What's worse is many already assume they're going to get a bad tip from people who look like me, but when we get this level of poor service, what else is to be expected? Oddly enough...I've been here close to an hour now and the only one who looks like me who has been in here all this time. Maybe I'm just late to get the point. We're not welcome here. read more
