This is a great place that offers pretty solid Vietnamese cuisine. I can't say that I love Vietnamese food outside the Eden Center/Falls Church area but this place seems like a solid place with all the classic options with authentic taste. The service was terrific and I'd definitely be back. Highlights for me included the ban xeoh and the pho - one of the better ones in this area.

Ate with (viet) aunties on MLK day. Casual interior, snagged an inviting booth. Service very friendly and attentive. Food was delish and pretty presentation. Bun Bo hue was tad sweet but mom happy it wasn't spicy. Good portions. Thanks, We'll be back!

The crispy eggroll (cha gio) was crispy and looks to be double fried, leading to a really crunchy outside. Good amount of filling on the inside and the fish sauce is sweet and tangy. The Chilean sea bass was super crispy with a thick crust on the top. The glass noodles looked a bit on the thin side and tasted more like vermicelli. Lovely scallions on top. The bone in short rib was filled with noodle and a good amount of meat. The broth was a bit too salty and didn't have as much meat flavor on it though. Still, it was very filling! Pretty quick and efficient staff. Nice clean location and quite minimal.

Very tasty. We got the spring rolls and the stir fried lemon grass tofu. Both had a ton of flavor. Staff was attentive and very nice. The restaurant and the restrooms were clean. I would come again

Wait a shame that this place has gone downhill since I have last been here over a year ago... the waiter we had was very friendly and the fried tofu appetizer wasn't bad. However, it took over half an hour just for the chicken glass noodle soup to come out. The soup was so bland that I had to add multiple spoons of chili sauce to give it some type of flavor. The chicken was also very dry and overcooked. The booth seats are also very loose so if you lean back at all it will move the other customers and vice versa with them bumping you back... My friend also thought her pho wasn't good at all. Just take a look around at the main demographic dining there which are mostly non-Asians. Just make the extra 20 minute drive and get way better noodle soups in Centreville.

Went here... again -- after the DC Bubble Run 5K, my friends and I were hungry and drained and I recommended this place (they've never been). They absolutely loved it! The Pho cured us and end of story, this place is great. PS: Service was great and ambiance was chill since we went at opening lol

The pho was delicious! The short rib pho had a really nice beef flavor. I got the bun Bo hue and the lemongrass in the broth really came through! They also had whipped Thai iced teas which was a fun little twist on the classic drink Our server was really nice and helpful and the interior was really spacious

Yelpers enticed me with their 4-5 star reviews. Located in a small strip mall, parking was easy. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had to move booths because the guy behind my seat kept butting his bench seat against my back. Staff always checked on us and food was delivered quickly. As far as food, I've had better IMHO, I am particular about my fried egg noodle with veggies and protein. The sauce didn't speak to me like other places. It was much sweeter and thicker than I'm used to eating. There was a good amount of fresh veggies and tofu. Hubby liked his massive bowl of Pho. The eggrolls were a tad greasy but they did have lots of pork filling.

    Banana blossoms beef salad.

Perfectly marinated salad with a generous and balanced mixed of thinly sliced beef and banana blossoms. The sauce is just perfect. Excellent quality. A unique dish as well.

This spot is nicely done, from the service, to the ambiance, to the food. My husband and I popped in before a flight and who seemed to be the owner sat us down right away, offering us water, and menus The restaurant itself was very modernly designed, and I knew the food was going to be good because a ton of Vietnamese locals flooded the place Great prices! I got the build your own pho bowl and my husband got the short ribs. The pho broth was sweeter and less peppery than I like but the flavor was still delicious, so I am keeping my review at 5 because that's just my preference in taste. The short ribs were tender and out of this world in my opinion. Amazing flavor. We also ordered spring rolls beef and shrimp and we both loved those as well We ate well and didn't leave hungry or broke. Will be coming back, thank you!

Saigon Bistro: Where Even My Inner Vietnamese Auntie Nods in Approval As a Vietnamese woman with a lifelong PhD in judging fish sauce, I don't hand out compliments (or nuoc cham recipes) easily. But Saigon Bistro? Let me tell you--it's the real deal. My husband, my daughter, and I rolled in tonight expecting dinner. We left with full bellies and mild food comas, grinning like we'd just found parking in Eden Center on a Sunday. We ordered: Bun Bo Hue - spicy, soulful, and not for the faint of heart. The broth had depth, like it had been simmering through three family secrets. Pho Nam - tender beef, clean broth, and that lovely herby finish. Not too greasy, not too light. Basically, if Goldilocks were Vietnamese, this would be her bowl. Bun Bo Nuong - grilled beef over vermicelli, perfectly charred and beautifully balanced. My daughter tried to claim it as her own but... not in this family. Decor? Lovely and modern with just the right touch of Saigon nostalgia--no plastic chairs or fluorescent lights here. Servers? Sweet, fast, and genuinely welcoming. No awkward stares when I asked for extra herbs and chili paste. This place is a solid 8.5 to 9 out of 10. Subtle, simple dishes that are still full of flavor. No MSG aftertaste, no "fusion confusion," just honest, delicious Vietnamese food. And trust me: if it passes my standards, your taste buds are in for a treat. Verdict: Would recommend. Would return. Would fight my husband for the last spring roll.

One of the better Vietnamese places in the area. All the food here tastes pretty authentic and I haven't found something that I don't like. My favorite dishes are the shrimp lotus flower salad, Bo ne, and the pho is also pretty good. Service is pretty quick here too and as someone with a peanut allergy they are always very cognizant of removing peanuts from my dishes. Overall good casual Vietnamese place that doesn't require a trek to falls church!

No one has pho that compares to this.

Was hungry and stumbled upon this gem. Staff was extremely tentive. Food came quick. Fresh and flavorful. Definitely coming back.

Started with an espresso martini, a smoked Old Fashioned, and the fritto misto to share. Everything was really good. Then we split the lamb burger and the shrimp risotto for lunch. Both were excellent, although I think the risotto edged out the burger. Our server Mike made the whole experience. Before he even brought us water, he showed up with a bowl for Onyx. Come on, that's an instant five stars in my book. We ended up talking wine with him for a good part of the afternoon. He had us sample a few different pours before we landed on a Nebbiolo we loved. Later, after another conversation about wine, he brought over a taste of a white we'd never even heard of because he thought we'd enjoy trying it. It never felt like an upsell. It just felt like talking with someone who genuinely enjoys wine and likes sharing it with people. Relaxing patio, great food, excellent cocktails, and genuinely memorable service. We started with the pork belly, tuna carpaccio, beef carpaccio, and Blue Bay mussels. Every single dish was fantastic, but the beef carpaccio stole the entire show for me. I could have ordered 20 of them. Seriously. The flavors were so beautifully balanced that I genuinely didn't want the plate to end. For our entrées, we had the glazed duck breast, cab filet, and Meyer lemon ricotta ravioli. The duck was cooked to absolute perfection. Two of us ordered the same dish, and it was literally rinse and repeat, both plates were executed flawlessly. Tender, flavorful, and just beautifully done. Even the cocktails felt elevated. The hush puppies were cooked perfectly and were pretty tasty, a little sweet like I prefer them, and also pretty filling. I was a bit disappointed in the seafood salad since the dressing that is used overpowers the taste of the imitation crab, which is what I wanted to taste. I love the sweetness of the crab, but didn't taste it at all. Overall, I was happy with my food but I can't say I will eat here very often as my meal was $42 without including the tip, and for one person and a meal that barely filled a to go box it's a bit much. The food was beautifully presented and the wine pairing was superb. Definitely recommend having them pair your wines. The grilled shrimp was a great start. The sparkling rose made the shrimp taste even better. The goat cheese ravioli was probably my favorite savory dish of the evening. The sweet sage-maple syrup-tomato sauce was fantastic. The Sancerre was pleasant with it, although I thought the ravioli itself was more impressive than the pairing. I had to order bread so the sauce wouldnt go to waste. I ordered the lamb medium rare, but it arrived closer to medium, and initially it was somewhat underseasoned. After adding salt and pepper and getting some of the thyme from the plate into the bite, the lamb became significantly better and worked better with the Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The creamed spinach underneath was delicious on its own, but I didn't enjoy it with the wine. Interestingly, the absolute highlight of that wine pairing was the braised garlic. The sweet, mellow garlic and Châteauneuf-du-Pape were wonderful together. Dessert was the highlight of the entire pairing. The lavender ice cream was outstanding, the Chantilly surrounding it was light and delicious, and the strawberry sauce wasn't overly sweet. The Sauternes was excellent with the dessert, particularly with the fresh strawberry. This was the pairing where the food and wine truly made each other better. Even though I was one of the last diners of the evening, I never felt rushed. My server was very attentive and social which I love. It came with a pretty decent amount of risotto topped with chicken, artichokes, tomatoes, spinach, feta, all over pesto base and finished with lemon sauce. The risotto itself was creamy with a nice texture, though the flavors were not as bold as I would have liked. With all the ingredients, I would have expected a little more flavor. Food is OK quality and prices are reasonable if not inexpensive on their specials, like the steak and ribs for only $25. Good flavor and cooked ok but a nice combo for the price. Service is OK with some wait staff being more efficient than others. There were some who knew their customers by name and took time out to talk with them but that slowed down service a little for the rest of us. Nothing too bad but you might wait a bit for refills or something you need after your food or drinks arrive. We had cool fries and it took a bit for the staff to come back to our table to check in the dining room. Similar response time for wait staff outside when we needed condiments that were ordered but didn't come out with our entrees. Cigar menu is an ok selection where there is something for everyone; however, our experience was the place ran out of the first four cigars we selected and each time the wait staff had to come back to our table to tell us they were out of that cigar. Wait staff didn't know what cigars were in stock and which they were out of. Overall, very good experience for both inside the dining area and outside where you can smoke. Recommend The Bungalow Lakehouse as it is a good experience and has a variety of experience options.

We were here on a Sunday around 4 p.m. At that time, the place wasn't busy. Upon entry, a young…read morewoman at the host stand asked us where we wanted to be seated. The choices were: outside, the sports bar, or the dining room. We chose the dining room. A large group of people was sitting at a table. We were given a booth by the window and right by the server's station. Looking over the menu at home, we both decided that we would get a bacon cheeseburger. The entrees seemed, to us, to be too filling. The bacon cheeseburger consists of: "100% angus burger, apple-wood smoked bacon, vermont white cheddar, canadian cheddar, sliced tomato, and crispy leaf lettuce". We both ordered it cooked medium. The dish comes with fries. To drink, I had ginger ale while my husband had a Heineken 00. Our server was friendly and efficient. He made a mistake, bringing my husband a Coke instead of the beer. My husband corrected him. He apologized and retrieved the correct drink. The burger was dry and overcooked. It was more on the medium well side. In one way, I didn't mind that as I didn't end up with greasy hands or a burger that falls apart. The bacon and the cheese provided some relief from the dryness. The fries came out hot, which we appreciated. All in all, it was an OK experience; we would consider going again sometime.

Ordered the chicha morada too, which was a great choice. To start with the choros, they were made very well. It had the right about of onions with lime, and it tasted fresh and delicious. The ceviche is the dish i would not order again. It was a little disappointing to go into a peruvian restaurant with a name that implies you would headline yiur ceviche. The sauce they used did not pair well - it was a little heavy and tasteless for us. The sweet potatoes were also slightly undercooked so they did not have the consistency that is expected when eating ceviche. The seco de res delivered where the ceviche didn't. It was delicious and tasted home cooked. I would definitely recommend this dish to someone visiting for the first time. When we decided to order kam lu wantan to go (to eat later at home), we were forewarned that it wouldn't come with arroz chaufa. This seemed odd as that's a key part of the dish and not that hard to make. We still ordered it and found it tasty back home. Not sure if it was because it sat in our fridge until later, but the wontons were soggy and not crispy at all. But the taste was there and surprised us how good it was despite pairing it with white rice. Overall the vibe was enjoyable with the server being very attentive and nice with us - she brought our food quickly and constantly greeted us with a smile. Will definitely be coming back!
