$15 (as of Dec 2024). The fresh flat noodle is an extra 75 cents

Broth is good, but they skimp in the meatballs and greens (herbs, lime, jalapeño, and Thai basil) that go into the pho. My wife ordered a pho Dac Biet with meatballs ($2 extra), and when it arrived, there was literally one meat ball that was cut into four slices. The greens were lacking as well. We had to share a small lime slice and only were given two small jalapeño slices to share. The pho itself was good. I ordered the one with beef ribs for $15. I enjoyed the broth and appreciated how the noodles were not clumped together. If I were able to make pho like this, I would be proud. The service was ok. Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad. The windows are covered with metal grating, so it appears closed from the outside. Maybe they had some break ins in the past, or just want to prevent break ins in the future. Note: when they ask if you want "fresh noodles", know that this is an extra charge if 75 cents (as of Dec 2024). Overall, pho is good but less portion in meatball and greens compared to local competition.

The OG spot! Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too packed. We came with a party of 10 and was easily able to grab a table. We ordered a ton of appetizers on the menu. Also got the Vietnamese coffee.. both cold and hot, and I really liked the hot choice! Egg rolls, shrimp rolls, dumplings, spring rolls... all 5/5! Not expensive, perfect portions and tasted yummy. I loved wrapping the egg rolls in lettuce too. The pho was good. Broth was hot and flavorful. Not too fulfilling which was nice cause we played some badminton after. I loved leaving the restaurant and not smelling like pho... that's a huge plus!

Dac Biet large ($13, $15 if you add ONE meatball)

Craving pho on a cold, dreary, rainy day, we popped into Pho Binh to try it out, though hesitant to deviate from our go to pho places. Upon entering, we were seated and greeted immediately. Wait staff was overall very friendly the entire time - my youngest spilled an entire cup of water and they immediately came to help. I ordered the large Pho Dac Biet and opted to add meatballs for $2. Y'all, they gave me 4 slices of meatball that was supposed to add up to ONE meatball. I called the waiter over to ask if there should be more, and he said no, that's just how the kitchen cuts it. For the record, my 4 pieces did not make up one whole meatball. And seriously, one meatball for $2?? Save your money and don't add it, not worth it. The actual pho was good! The broth was in the sweeter side. I always get the dac biet because it offers a variety of meat. Unfortunately, my bowl had no brisket though - my favorite! That was disappointing. My husband ordered the bone in pho and he shared one bone with me and it was great. The meat literally fell off the bone and had great flavor. The basil, lime, and Jalepeno they give you are laughable. We received half of a slice of lime for both of us. The amount of basil was only enough for one bowl. Overall, won't be back due to how many other great pho places there are but glad we tried it.

This is one of the staple pho spots in Houston for a reason! The broth is meaty and hearty, not as clear as other broths but the flavor is amazing. I got the Rib Pho, the meat was so tender and fall off the bone. I also got some steak in my pho but I recommend not to as it was not as tender as the meat on the rib. Overall, 7/10.

The ambiance was nice. It's your typical Vietnamese Pho restaurant, but everything was clean and tidy. Service was really nice. The lady who served us, who I'm assuming was the owner, was so polite and informative to us about the menu; she even did small talk with us which was nice. My dad and I both got their "Pho Suong Bo" ($15.00), which is Beef Rib soup with meatballs & rice noodles. It's a simple dish, but tasted hot and fresh. Would recommend coming here when you're craving Pho out of nowhere.

Probably my fave Pho restaurant in Houston and there's many to choose from. The broth is soothing and not too sweet but not bland either. The service is quick and friendly. You can always catch some OG's chilling and chopping it up but also see youth and family coming in too. Another thing I love is that you don't leave smelling like pho. Their juices are fresh with my go-to being the pennywort with mung beans. Highly recommend! Cafe su da was also strong.

Dry pho ga is bomb! It comes with broth. I ended up dumping the broth in my noodles and ate it wet but it was good. Conveniently located on Bellaire

We've been looking for a good pho place in Houston, and I'm so glad our friends introduced us to Pho Binh! Their broth is honestly pretty solid. I would highly recommend ordering their fatty bone marrow broth as a side and dumping it into your pho. It adds a ton of richness and flavor to the already pretty decent broth. Noodles are well cooked, and the meat quality is also great. I don't recommend the eggrolls; I love the price, but they're not very flavorful and the filling is quite lacking. I wish I had tried their thai tea or coffee, but I'm currently on a caffeine diet so I'll have to come back again. We actually had to wait a pretty long time for our pho, but our friends insist that they're usually pretty fast. I have no complaints because our food came out hot and delicious, and I would definitely come again.

Everyone loves a good bowl of hot meaty pho during the cold weather and it's exactly what I was in the mood for.. my fiancé and I dropped in for lunch today. We were immediately seated from a lady far away at the register waving her hands to give us the green light to take a seat anywhere of our choice. We sat down and looked through the menu and I saw the Dac Biet ( Special Combo) ! Which includes, rare steak, brisket, tendon and tripes. I did have to purchase a side of meatball. As the bowl arrived at our table in 5 minutes, I noticed the bowl didn't have as much meat as it was indicated on the menu. I didn't get the "rare steak" as well. Ummm... as I proceed to dig in, there is as barely 4 thin slices of meat and the rest is just noodles and broth. I thought Dac Biet was supposed to be loaded with variety of meats? Flavoring was decent, noodle was soft. Overall, not the best pho place in Chinatown.

Here for the 1 year update. This is probably my 4th or 5th time coming to Pho Binh and a year since the last time I was here. Admittedly, I've had to update my review with one less star. The menu this year has a lot more variety in all the wrong ways. Long gone is the simple menu that lists primarily the food stars of the show. Instead, half the menu is now varying types of drinks (most or all non-alcoholic) that borderline resembles a Bambu or Boba Tea Shop, not a local pho restaurant. Outside of this, it feels like the quality of ingredients has gone down since the last time I was here. My bowl this year was half fried onions and overcooked noodles. The broth no longer resembled that previously flavorful bone-like broth, but rather something that came out of a can (and I would know since I've had plenty of canned chicken broth before). My parents, who have frequented Pho Binh more than I have stated similar concerns. Overall, I really hope this isn't the trend of the restaurant and we were just here on a bad day... This really is one of my favorite spots for Pho Ga Kho, and I'd hate it if the food quality isn't as great as it used to be. Are they still currently one of the only places in Houston that offer this dish? Yes, and it's worth it to try. However, for those of you who are familiar with this dish and restaurant, don't be surprised if things don't taste up to par.

Pho Binh(been) loyal to its name since it opened. Unlike most pho restaurants, this restaurant only sells pho with exception to a few drinks. If you never been to pho before, most pho restaurants have variety. Different broth soups, rice, fried rice, hot pot, spring rolls, etc. but this is strictly PHO. For it being strictly pho, there's good and bad things about that. Good thing is that you won't have to overthink on what to get because there's really only one thing they serve. They diversify by having different pho ingredients inside your bowls. But I'm sure it's using the same broth. The bad part is if somebody in your party doesn't like pho, then you can pho get about it. But overall, I think this place is really clean, service is nice, and the portions are big. I'm a pho lover, so it's no problem to me that all they serve is pho. **Note they also close early for a pho restaurant. 4pm

Pho Combination 3/5. Soup was very bland and I struggle to eat it even when I added my sauces and veggies.

Let's start with the good, by far the quickest service I've ever had. Walking in it was so welcoming; the place is really well kept and it makes me feel like I'm back at Nam. We were greeted right away and was seated promptly, I got the Pho combination and not even 20 seconds after I've place my order that the food came out right away. The broth lacked in a lot of flavor and I felt that the soup tasted a bit watery like it didn't haven't any sodium in it, even after adding my sriracha, hoisin, mint, and jalapeños to give it a little kick; still nothing. I was a bit disappointed with my Pho however the service really made it up so for that I'll give it a 3.5 and round it to a 4 star. Will I come back? Yes, but next time the broth needs to be better because of course that's suppose to be the star of your dish.

Pho Ga Kho from Pho Binh Bellaire would be one of my top recommend dishes to exhibit the diversity of Houston demographics. I don't go to Pho Binh for their Beef Pho, because this Dry Chicken Noodle is one of my favorite comfort food. I usually pour some of that potent chicken broth into the bowl to soften and moisten the noodles and add another layer of flavors, in addition to fragrant Oil and Soy Sauce that's already mixed in. I would also sprinkle some pepper to enhance the taste. I appreciate that they include all sorts of chicken parts, dark and white meat, gizzard, heart, and liver. A simple satisfying bowl of Pho Ga Kho reminds me how blessed we are to be living in this diverse culinary treasure city that is Houston.

You wrap the lettuce around the bánh xèo/bánh khọt and dip it in the fish sauce. I got the bánh khọt and the bò né. Bánh khọt is like a mini, thicker version of bánh xèo and came with nine pieces. Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. Anyone checking out the food hall need to make Xeo Yum as part of their eating itinerary. __________ (#1) A play on the Vietnamese sizzling crepe, Banh "xeo" and yum" (#2) Previously the Conservatory and now Stestí Food Hall. When I arrived there was nobody dining in the restaurant, that was a bit worrying, but I figured it was a bit early for the dinner crowd and late for the lunch crowd. Food & Drink - 4.5* First up was the noodles, I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't say the hype I'd heard about from some others was there. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. I know inflation is certainly killing many businesses and consumers but even these felt a bit off. Overall - 4.5* This is definitely going to be one of my go tos for crawfish when in the area. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. The restaurant is clean, the owner is very nice, and it's a nice low key space to just enjoy a good meal with friends or family.

Everything is always super flavorful and perfectly cooked. My absolute favorites are the Thit Ba Chi Kho To (caramelized pork belly), the Suon Non Rim To (braised spare ribs) and the Canh Chua Tom (Vietnamese sweet and sour soup with shrimps). I also really love their Com Chien Ca Man (salted fish & chicken fried rice), which I think is one of the best in town, as well as their Ga Kho Xa Ot (braised lemongrass chicken). The Ca Bong Lau Kho To (caramelized catfish) is my parents' favorite. Photos are from my most recent visit.

I never had central vietnamese food before and never heard of most of these dishes. We saw that everyone was getting the three appetizer platter, bun bo hue, and had to try it. I also got the chicken vermicelli just as a classic. But every single item in the bun bo hue platter was jawdroppingly good. I never had anything like it before. I didn't know there were vietnamese dishes that utilized mochi flour and now I can never go back. Every single item was so good. The mochi was cooked so perfectly as every bite was so chewy and soft with no hard clumps at all. The meat that came with them as well were so sweet and tender. The vermicelli plate was awesome too as you can make a wrap with the lettuce and veggies and rice noodles and they all come together to mouthwatering perfection. I found a new spot to hyperfixate on whenever I come to houston.

My favorite appetizers (in order): Banh beo chen, Banh ram it, banh bot loc, egg rolls, crystal dumplings. Personally I wasn't a fan of the paste-y texture of the banh nam but that is a personal preference! Service is not the most hospitable but very quick. We were reseated after spotting a cockroach under our table. But even so I would come back to have this amazing food any day.

Came in to eat on a Saturday night around 8PM. They take walk ins, but we made reservations and I…read moream so glad we did. Upon arriving, every table was taken except our table w a reserved sign on it. The restaurant was bustling, but I could still hear my husband over the music and noise. The menu is huge!!! I didn't know where to start. But our server, Vanessa, helped us make a few choices. We started off w bánh xèo tostadas, bánh béo, & carpaccio. Then we had calamari and their steak special. I asked for a side of papaya slaw for some veggies. My favorite dish of the night was the carpaccio. So many flavors perfectly melded together. Loved the crunch of the fried onions and peanuts. 10/10 dish, in my opinion. Authentic banh xèo usually has an airier, crisp crepe, but theirs was more crunchy - great for their tostada take. Very flavorful. Each piece had one shrimp, but plenty of pork belly bites. The nuoc mam drizzled on it was tasty. Fried calamari - this is a big dish for, I believe, $'19. I prefer the dipping sauce on the side so that the batter doesn't get soggy. This did happen here, but it didn't stop us from finishing every last bite. The green sauce was good, not the usual dipping sauce for fried calamari. Steak special - they have another steak dish on their menu, but this one was pepper crusted w smashed potatoes. The potatoes were super crispy and flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked - a beautiful pink medium rare. The portion was huge and justified the $39 price point. The staple steak dish came with a papaya slaw and I had to have it. It was bright and limey - I can see why they serve it with their steak. Bánh beo - my least favorite of the night. A bit thicker than I like. Still good, but there were a lot of other great dishes that I could easily pass on this one. Try their hibiscus artichoke tea.

We got there 15 minutes before to make sure we could find parking. They have a small lot but all the spaces were taken despite being before 6 pm on a weekday. And a few spots had noticeable broken glass so be careful. We fortunately found street parking close by; double checked the signs because I ain't getting towed for nothing. Then I double checked inside with staff to make sure where I parked was ok. On to the food: we got several happy hour appetizer items: soy garlic wings, Brussels sprouts, bao bun, roasted oysters. All was good but not amazing. I then ordered the pho tai chinh for myself - I was quite impressed with the portions and the price! Wifey got the lemongrass pork banh mi - good but not amazing. Overall I would say the food taste and portions were good, but note this is elevated Asian cuisine, so it'll run you $20-$30 minimum. Now the service - definitely super friendly staff. It was our first time there so maybe they brought out the extra friendliness. Even the chef came out and greeted us to make sure we liked the food. Waitress was very kind and checked on our table a LOT. Almost too much. Overall a good experience, yummy food, not a fan of the parking (a common problem in the Heights), and expensive for Asian food but that's expected. Enjoy!

My friends ordered the filet mignon and the chicken and they were equally as impressed! I ordered the espresso mousse for dessert which comes out in the shape of a coffee bean. Cuteeee and perfect! This is a higher end fine dining restaurant so you should expect the portion sizes and price to be pretty comparable to a lot of other finer dining restaurants. Overall the food's flavor was fantastic. I ordered the king salmon clay pot. I thought the salmon was so tasty! They added pepper and sauce to the salmon - It was tender and flavorful and paired nicely with white rice. The quail (not pictured below) also was super flavorful and was cooked so well it tasted like beef. The soup was also light and refreshing, similar to a west lake soup. It was thicker consistency and had cilantro and chucks of lobster. The drinks served were also super balanced. We ordered the mojito and the dragon fruit cocktail. The mojito was the right balance between minty and sweet with just a hint of alcohol flavor. For the dragon fruit cocktail, it was very fruity, on the sweeter side but not overpowering and was topped with egg whites to give it a little bit of frothiness. I will say, we are slightly underdressed to enter this establishment. Everything seemed so luxurious and many people were in formal business wear! Keep this in mind if you go! There is a parking deck right next to the location as well, both self parking and valet!
