Great broth. I had the N23 with eye of round and shrimp and hardly got any meat. Maybe 4 medium small shrimp and 5 silver dollar slices of meat about as thin too. For the money Pho Ok! Customer service was a little slow, with a lot of standing around talking while I'm waiting for service. I even timed it after I sat down and it took them almost 3 minutes to bring the menu. I seen others come in and they sat them down gave them their menu while I was still waiting. I was about to leave Bu I decided to wait it out cause I wanted to try the food. Ordered the Pho and the brisket with fat was hard and chewy, very little tendon and tripe. Soup base was ok, I've had and made a lot better. After eating my soup I asked for desert cause I seen it on their electronic display board, was told we don't have desert. So that was the end of visit. This was at lunch time by the way and it wasn't that busy. I would go back cause that's the only Pho place near where I'm working at. I'm also visiting from out of town and don't live here. Meh. I've experienced better. That pretty much sums it up. Is the place bad, nope, not at all. Pho seems to be exploding in popularity, starting to really expand beyond the strong Asian communities of North Dallas. Simply put, there are better options within the immediate area that outperform this establishment on quality, price, and service...an unfortunate trifecta for Pho Bistro. My recommended alternative - Crystal Pho in nearby Fairview. Will I return? Only if I'm really craving Pho, I don't have the extra 30 minutes to go elsewhere, or my go to place is closed for a Sunday. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE!! I made an account just to review this 'restaurant.' As a vegan of 11 years due to health problems, I have to be very specific of what I eat. The first time I went to this restaurant, I ordered the vegetarian pho and asked all of the typical questions. "What kind of broth do you use, do the noodles have eggs, ect." I was assured it was completely animal product free. After calling in my normal order that I've eaten several times, I reminded them to use the vegetarian broth. I was met with, "we only use chicken or beef broth, it's all we've ever used." The lady on the phone was extremely rude to me as I tried to figure it out, totally brushed me off, and argued with me about speaking to a manager, even though it's a criminal offense to lie on a menu. When I finally spoke to a manager, she couldn't understand what I was saying due to language barriers. This isn't a rant about veganism, this is about ethics. If they don't know what goes into their food ; or are willing to lie to a paying customer, what else are they lying about. I would have happily accepted an apology, and dropped it had they told me they would change the menu so other people don't get the same treatment, but I received no remorse or sense that they cared about their customers. I was willing to overlook their hole in the wall location, dirty interior, rude waitress, and the bugs I've seen in their restaurant, but this is unacceptable. This restaurant deserves to be shut down. When a food business doesn't care about their customers, don't expect them to care about the quality of the food, and what may or may not be in it. read more

My roommate swears by this pho place. One: The owner/manager is really nice. Two: The chicken fried rice is really great. She and her brother are regulars at this restaurant. He decided to go here for dinner a couple evenings ago, so I said sure why not. I have been here a couple times before but I didn't really care for it, it was mediocre. This was not the case when I visited recently. My friend and his daughter ordered their food and then ordered the porkchop dish with +$1.00 for Fried Rice and +1.00 for Fried Egg. I was so hungry and excited for my meal, so when it came out, I tried a small bite of the porkchop and at first it tasted a little funny then the after taste hit me. It was more on the pungent sour side for the porkchop - bad meat. I asked my friend to try it, and he has stated it was bad too. So that proved it wasn't just on my end. I asked the waitress to take it back; she asked me if I wanted something else, but I lost my appetite and decided to skip dinner. I had maybe two small bites of rice, didn't touch the egg, and didn't eat anything after tasting the meat. The waitress came back to my table to tell me the cook said the sauce was sour. I've never had a porkchop with sour sauce, clearly I know the difference between pungent bad sour meat vs "sour" seasoning. The bill comes out and she charges me for the dish, I was shocked that it wasn't removed because I didn't even get to eat it. When the waitress came over, I asked her why is she charging me for the bad dish if it was sent back? She said, since it was made it was up to the cook since the manger isn't there. So my friend got upset and stated that I won't be paying for something I didn't eat for it being bad. So she brings the check back with the meal removed but the extra two +$1.00 extra was still on the bill. I'm not a penny pincher nor have a problem with paying. But to me, it was about the principal. They prefer to argue with a regular customer than removing the extra $2.00. Again the waitress stated it was up to the cook, and since I wanted an egg and fried rice, it doesn't matter if I sent it back. I will not eat anything on my dish if it is contaminated with bad meat. I will not risk my health for food poisoning. I asked her how would she would feel if she was dining and this happened to her, she agreed. My friend again gets really upset, and ask to speak with the cook. However, he did not want to speak with him. The waitress then takes the $2.00 off and we told her to keep the rest for tip. As we were leaving, she insisted that we take our receipt twice after saying no thanks the first time. Overall, this is the WORST experience ever during any dinning. I will not return and this restaurant had lost two regulars for a life time. It's unfortunate that they would actually argue with a customer. I understand not all the time customers are right, but I would never take advantage of anyone. I just wanted my meal and enjoy great company with my friends. I apologize for such a long review! Save yourself and find another pho restaurant, there are plenty of other ones around! read more

Not much flavor and AWFUL customer service. We ordered 2 pho noodle soups, I had to flood my soup with hot oil sauce, hoisin sauce and sriracha, but my friend who doesn't eat spicy had no choice to try it plain. It tasted too bland and greasy to her so she asked it be taken away after 2 spoons. The manager became very aggressively loud when the server took it back and said there is nothing wrong with the soup and accused my friend of lying to get out of paying. I went here one last time with my mother and what do you know service refuses to get better. I now loathe this place with a furious passion. I'm officially boycotting this restuarant after my last experience here. Look I don't care if you have great food and big portions that never excuses poor service. The two waitresses they have are really bad but not as bad as the one that barely speaks English. Now I can put up with language barriers but not rudeness. We get this one girl everytime she walks away when we are still talking to her and constantly forget our drinks. Yet I feel these girls expect to get good tips while yucking it up with I think the owner. I would complain if I thought he would care no he rather hire pretty girls that are his friends rather than good servers. I've gone to this place 25 times or more since it first opened it used to be great. It used to have excellent service interestingly enough they are all now gone what a coicedence. Probably becuase it is a crappy place to work. I feel this place runs on nepotisim and apathetic waitresses. Because the food is good this place is still in business for all the takeout people do. And god knows who can blame them to want to sit down at this godforsaken place. You know the one food item they suck at making? Bubble tea. My mother ordered a taro milk tea and it was just the cheap powdered crap some places like to use. But they want to charge a premium of $3.50 for this chalky craptacular drink. The boba in it was good though but who cares when the drink is aweful. Bubble is this wonderful drink that originated in Taiwan. The best bubble tea places I go to are run by taiwanese. And they would never ever use powdered crap. They would use fresh fruit for their smoothies and real tea for their tea based ones. Just please I beg you don't get their bubble tea. You want excellent pho that is cheaper and better with wonderful service? Go to pho crystal in fairview totally worth the drive. Keep laughing it up terrible waitresses and owner. This is an ok Vietnamese cafe. They also are now serving sushi in their new location, but haven't tried it yet. My wife absolutely loves the bun there. For me though, I had less good luck. Had pho that was just average and the eggrolls and fried rice were really underwhelming. It's so close to my house though, so I wish it were a bit more authentic. This review is a couple weeks late, but I have not forgotten about my experience. My parents always order and bring it home to me so this was my first time ordering and going myself. The worker Adam (or Alex Idk) was so unprofessional and so unpleasant when I called back once I got home because they forgot all of my veggies and sauces to my soup. He insisted that he put them in there and to keep checking and once i kept telling him that no in fact it's not in here and that i pulled everything out of the bag he just said "ok....?" Like a what do you want me to do about it type of attitude. When i went back to the restaurant to get the extras he went straight to the back and got it for me, but didn't make eye contact or even say a word to me. Such a weird exchange. Not even an apology. And he was training a new staff member too so definitely not a good example. I worked in the food/service industry for 7 years so i understand but this definitely left a mark on me. And if anyone has a baby they know the hassle. A frustrating experience and i hate it had to be them because i loved this place. read more

Food is good, but service is awful. My friend had ordered a sushi roll (which she did not get until after my plate came out 15 mins later). Might I add the restaurant was not busy at all when we got there, but it did get busier throughout the evening. However, even when it wasn't busy the waitresses were stressed out for no reason and tried keeping themselves occupied in any way they could without talking to the customers . The manager was very ignorant, and no one came to check on us and ask how our food was or if we needed anything. Several tables near us got up and walked out because of this same reason. Last couple times the waitstaff has been kind of lazy...three or four teenagers sitting behind the counter playing on their phones instead of serving the plentiful customers. No drinks refilled, special but paid for extras like addition fish sauce not brought or brought late. Food is still pretty good, but I still wish they would add some cilantro or basil. Tends to be bland for Vietnamese food, but well made and pretty fresh. I'll probably still drop by for the convenience, but less thrilled about this place than I used to be. Mostly put off by the service. It has gone downhill considerably since it opened. They need to fire most of the teens, double the pay and get/keep a few good servers. read more

I've been to a lot of Pho restaurants around the DFW metroplex and I can say with 100% certainty this is by far one of best if not THE best one. A great selection of Pho soups, bento boxes and sushi. I highly recommend the volcano plate for those who like rolls, a little spice and aren't into the sashimi. Service is great, ambience is great and the food is just awesome. The Pho is super good. Nice flavor and good spices and sides. The sushi however, you'd be better off not trying. We were willing to pay for them even though we didn't eat them but the manager was nice and removed the two special rolls. I gave them a 4 because the pho was good and the benti box was as well. We are always on the hunt for good pho. So happy we came across this little gem. Pho was wonderful. The broth very tasty. We also enjoyed the football game on the tv and sushi made fresh. So glad this spot is so convenient. They moved across the street to a better location with a bigger parking lot with a better flow of traffic. I love that they have healthy choices and everything is fresh. I love their specialty, pho, of course. But I also enjoy their vermicelli dishes and fresh rolls. I wish they would combine pork and shrimp in their rolls though like some other Vietnamese restaurants. We love Pho Bistro in McKinney, eaten here many, many times and always had great food and great service. We love the soups N16 filet mignon and the chicken pad Thai and pork fried rice, which isn't on the menu but they always make it for us anyway. Simply delicious! read more

I had the Pho Filet, which was not bad. I also ordered the spring rolls and those were very disappointing. The spring rolls did not have any type of mints in it, only lettuce. They also used the grilled pork that would have been used in the vermicelli dish...while the pork wasn't bad, it's not what you would typically use in spring rolls. The service is good, and the prices aren't bad for the more "simple" sushi rolls. They are A LOT of cooked options. They seat you very quickly and your waiter/waitress is ready to take your order the moment you sit down. This establishment is pretty clean and the menu is easy to read. If you're new to Sushi, I highly recommend Pho Mistro. read more
