Ordered our meal and as we went to the di k dispenser we saw that clearly there has been a leak for a long period of time. There is scale forming. You can clearly see that the machine has not been cleaned. This might be a code violation. Food was decent but I don't trust it seeing the cleanliness issue. They switched up there containers and had the nerve to lie about it. They are charging more money for there dishes and placing them in smaller containers to skim back on prices for them and shorting you food. I have order the shrimp fried rice a lot and tonight noticed how small the container is.Shrimp Fried rice and cheese wontons cost me $20.00. Picked up take out on my way to help my woman put up Christmas decorations. This is the typical Chinese take out place -- working yelling at each other in Chinese, broken English, an employee eating at a booth, and the place mainly empty. The food was good.... portion size fair and tasty. Nothing to write home about but not bad. I lived in Beijing for 18 months so know a thing or two about Chinese food. She insisted that I try their Shrimp fried rice because "it was the best" and so it is. It's a small restaurant with limited seating, the service was good/fast. We ordered two of their shrimp fried rice and the portions were more than enough for us. We couldn't try anything else on the menu due to a halal preference. However, everything looked great! I noticed that they get a lot of takeout orders but I did like dinning in. The restaurant is clean and good for taking the family out for fried rice cravings. I was disappointed with my first experience. This was by far the WORST Pad Thai that I've ever had. It was soupy and nasty.

The other night I got a dish with chicken. There must've been the equivalent of half a chicken tender. All the rest was a slew of onions and carrots without the skins peeled off. Disappointing. Stopped in for first time while running errands. I ordered crab rangoon and pork in garlic sauce with fried rice. It came with an egg roll. The egg roll was good but not great- forgetful really. The crab rangoon was not the worst I've ever had, but they were pretty bad. The filling texture was kind of curdled and had little flavor. The fried rice was plain and undercooked. The pork with garlic sauce was too sweet (could be good if wasn't so sweet) and had very little pork. McKinney is definitely missing good Chinese food even though we have some amazing Sushi restaurants. If someone who knows what they're doing opens a Chinese food restaurant here, they would truly BANK! read more

Very disappointing. My sesame chicken was not hot, closer to room temp, and probably the worse fried rice I've had. They charged for sweet and sour sauce for the crab ragoons. Who does that? Those were mediocre at best. My suggestion, go somewhere else. read more

I've been here a couple times and ordered the same thing both times- a vegetable stir fry with added fried tofu and a side of fried rice. The portions are big enough for one order to last me two meals too, which I always love! The food isn't the most amazing Chinese food, in fact, it's more Americanized Chinese food, but it's still pretty decent. In my opinion, the food was quite salty (both the vegetable stir fry and the fried rice)- I always end up chugging water after eating. But other than that, the flavor is decent! I do also think that it's quite pricy for Americanized Chinese food. There are definitely places with similar items but cheaper prices. I do appreciate the fact that they don't turn away customers when it gets really close to closing time- each time I go, I've been about 10-15 minutes before closing and each time they've been so welcoming and so friendly! read more

Meh. I hate it when the places closest to me and convenient to get to just don't make the cut. Rice Pot just isn't very good chinese food. The sauces are pretty good but underneath that is poor quality chicken that's been overcooked to rubbery, gross consistency. I was really dissapointed with my food and only choked it down because I was starving after a 5 hour drive. The only time hubby has ordered delivery I snacked on the edamame and fried rice and couldn't bring myself to try the chicken again despite his pleas that it was a "different order". The reason for the loss of a star is there is one guy that often takes the phone orders that is rude. The first time I called to order he asked me if I was sure I had the right number because I had a few questions about the menu and wanted to clarify some things. I've tried almost every Chinese food place in McKinney, and this one has by far been my favorite when it comes to express Chinese. I am a huge fan of Sesame Chicken and they definitely get it right at this place. My wife wasn't too crazy about her Kung Pao Chicken, but said she would go back again to try another entree.
