Beef pho should be made with hanging tender or brisket cut very thin. I've had beef pho alot and I have to say the meat was like deli sliced, chewy and I couldn't swallow it. Very disappointing. Favor was spot on and egg rolls great. read more

We ate there with friends and we all agree that the food was good but the price and the portions was ridiculous. Prices were not really bad if you received a normal amount of food. The amount of food on our plates wasnt enough to feed a two year old. The amount of chicken in the dishes wouldnt fill the palm of your hand. Also the wait was crazy considering there was hardly anyone else there at the time.We mentioned our concerns to our waitress who didnt seem to care. I would never go back there. There aren't many pho options in Port Charlotte but this is by far my favorite! The bun bo hue was super flavorful as was the rice noodle dish with grilled pork. It was small inside, maybe 10 small tables, but the service was fast and attentive. read more

To be fair maybe we caught this place on an off night. We arrived just after 7pm on Friday and the place was trying to close down so they requested we order takeout, ok no problem. I asked if condiments are provided for pho, yes of course everything is provided . We ordered a pho , spring rolls and steak rice plate . We waited about 20 mins while the food was prepared and the waiter offered for us to dine in but we felt like they wanted to close so declined but it was a nice offer. My favorite was the pork spring roll $5.5 - 5 stars , with no peanut sauce (I'm allergic). Subbed red sauce. It was really delicious and I would maybe even go out of my way to order this again. I guess overall I just wasn't pleased with the quality of the rest of the food. I've eaten a lot of pho in many different cities. The condiments that came with my food were sad, the bean sprouts were all browning and there was no lime or jalapeños at all which was a big bummer. Instead of a little tub of hoisin with sriracha, they put packets of condiments in the bag but the sriracha ones were really bloated which indicated they're bad, or expired - filled with bacteria in other words. Why would they serve these ? So I couldn't use them. I ordered large veggie pho with tofu $12, my usual pho order - something I like to get when I'm looking for a fresh healthy veggie boast . My broth was yummy, they only have beef broth here according to the server (I normally get chicken). I didn't ask if they use msg/ but you should ask if it's important to you . I also like the rice noodle even tho the portions seemed small for a large (to me) . The veggies were a miss. There was a lot of large broccoli and Cauliflower, I mostly ate the broccoli , literally one carrot and some spongy possible canned mushrooms I did not eat . The condiments were browning bean sprouts and some lovely Thai basil, no jalapeño or lime. The soup had way too much onion for me and not enough cilantro . I requested fresh tofu but the server said they didn't offer that , all the tofu is fried . The slices were small but not fried all the way through which made it a better experience than biting into a fried cube . My bf is not an adventurous eater but he loves rice, steak , salad and some veggies . We got the steak plate for him and it was honestly hard to tell if it was different from the pork, or maybe they gave us the wrong thing - they put a sweet glaze on it which didn't seem like the right flavor, or it wasn't described on the menu that way- the meat was okay but pretty chewy. He didn't feel like it was a good value for the cost and didn't even finish the meat, which means he didn't like it ... He didn't eat the salad , I had a few bites it was very fresh , especially compared to the sprouts. They are only open Tues to Friday , maybe try coming for lunch and not dinner you may have a better experience. All the take out food , including the hot broth was served in styrofoam, while common for this area or the country - I hate styrofoam- it is not the only option for take out containers and is a very poor choice for pollution, food quality and the environment overall . Finally, the regular spring rolls are made with shrimp as another reviewer pointed out, but it doesn't say on the menu. So be sure to ask if you have a preference/allergy, I almost forgot . Would definitely be helpful to list allergies like shellfish and peanut on the menu. read more

Warning!! Do NOT wear light colored clothing to eat pho!! WOW! Absolutely great! Our Waiter "Folk" was attentive and fast. My date had pho with shrimp and I had pho with chicken. We were served a nice selection of fresh mung bean sprouts, Thai basil, sliced jalapeño and limes to accompany our dishes. Folk also brought me chili paste (oil) to heat mine up a bit. We ordered a side of egg rolls which were a bit spicy for my date but great for me. Lastly we shared a delicious flan. Good location, close to El Jobean & US 41. Restaurant is family operated. It's clean and organized. Menu is simple, however, very authentic Vietnamese cuisine. My husband and I, we ordered a Phở Tái (rare eye round beef noodle soup) and a spicy beef and pork noodle soup. Both were very delicious, especially, the spicy beef and pork noodles. The broth was perfect taste for me, very authentic. Be careful if you can't eat too spicy, you can always request for a mild taste (less spicy), I think. My husband gave a thumb up for his Pho. He said the soup was good without too much of cinnamon, very tasty and the beef was tendered. Service was fast and friendly. The server was frequently checked for water refill. Tried for the first time today - wow, great food! I was waiting for it to open in early 2020 and then the pandemic hit. It was worth the wait. We had the spring rolls - huge, fresh, and great shrimp. We also got pork skewers because we knew they would go with our dishes. My wife had the house special vermicelli and it was outstanding. And the sour-sweet-spicy sauce was perfect. Not bad for a brand new restaurant! We ordered take out, so I can't tell you about my experience with a server, but the fellow at the register who took our order was extremely friendly. The food was delicious, and definitely contained fresh quality ingredients. I was very happy with my pho, and was even happier to have some leftovers for lunch the next day. Great portion size at a very affordable price. I do wish that the spring roll contained information on the ingredients like everything else does on the printed menus. I truly thought that original Vietnamese Goi Cuon (spring rolls) contained pork, but when I opened the box it was all shrimp. I can't eat any seafood whatsoever, so unfortunately I wasn't able to enjoy them. Maybe it was my fault, who knows. Finally, a pho place in Port Charlotte. Considering that I travel extensively and eat pho almost everywhere it can be found, I was excited to have a local place. Nice decore. Clean, well lit, stone slate tile flooring looks really nice. While the strip mall is nothing to write home about, this is a place you could take a date. Service was excellent. I had a big bowl of pho, my daughter had com ga nuong (grilled chicken, white rice) and the wife had fried rice. My pho was good. Not the best I've had in my travels - it was a touch weak - but good. Nothing a little sriracha couldn't spice up. My daughters chicken was really tasty...almost enough for me to get that instead of my beloved pho. There was real care taken in the slicing of the fresh veggies. My wife liked the fried rice as well. 4.5 stars, rounded to 5 for being brand new to the area and only open a couple of weeks. Only tried this place once and had pho. It was very good and with fresh ingredients. My only hang up was for two people they only give you one side of bean sprouts, basil and like 2 or 3 slices of jalapenos. That is pretty cheap. You have to ask for more. Other places give each person their own side of vegetables. Other than that it was very good and I am looking. forward to trying it again. read more
