Today we ordered a crab Rangoon appetizer- they were crispy, & very flavorful, served with sweet chili sauce; because it was lunch time we were also served chicken noodle soup.. - this was so inviting & the bean sprouts added to the freshness. The pad Thai here is the best I've ever had!! Something about the tangy tamarind sauce with the crunchy bits of peanut & scrambled egg really make you want to go in for another bite! We also tried the Shrimp Hot Pot- this was MY FAVORITE dish I've had from here so far... The glass noodles were coated in a oyster and soy sauce mix over a bed of fresh vegetables. The shrimp were cooked to perfection, but the sauce with the glass noodles really paired very well ! This is my FAVORITE Thai place !! read more

Used to be great but is like dumpster slop now. Didn't get cashews in chicken and cashew. Gai Pad Krapow was the worst, about 1.5 ounce of chicken and burnt. Didn't eat anything after one bite. Asked server about it and was charged $49 for two meals we didn't even eat. Avoid. read more

Amazing service, amazing food. My first experience with Thai Cafe was a work lunch. I love Thai food and have been craving it forever. The owner actually waited on us herself. She was kind, attentive and funny. The state soup was delicious and actually came in handy when eating my Pad Thai. The curry pastries were amazing. I could have followed up on them alone. My Pad Thai at a level 1 was super spicy for me but so amazing with all the flavors swirling around. The boba was delicious. The only was the boba could have been better was if it was smoothie and not over ice. I have been recommending this location to people since eating there last week. We received the wrong appetizers along with the worst Pad Thai and Curry I have had! We ordered crispy squid which was not crispy at all and did not have much squid! Overall for $125 I would not recommend the Thai Cafe!! Portions were small and food was not acceptable! read more

Great Thai food!! We were seating quickly and then our server came quaintly to take our drink order. It wasn't long before they took our food order as well. It's a clean restaurant, although in a strip mall. The food was excellent - I had their drunken noodles with chicken and my wife had their pad Thai with shrimp and both were fantastic. We also shared an order of crab Rangoon as an appetizer and really liked it. It was a very good meal and not overpriced at all. Would recommend if you like Thai food. read more

i had got a boba and it had CORN who adds corn to boba, i will not be coming here again, that was disappointing and disgusting, the milk was okay just weird had chunks in jt and IT WASNT the boba. read more

I'm a huge Thai food lover. This place is so legit, if I lived here I'd go at least once a week. Not only is the entire look and feel legit but the staff is also great. Super friendly and attentive without being overboard. And the food. Omg. Soooo full of flavor without being to much. Clearly freshly made (my favorite) and amazing. We had the egg rolls and all ordered pad Thai. I had the tofu, my daughter had shrimp and my son in law had crab. They had a slice level 4 and I braved it and had a 3. We were all happy with the level and depth of spice, truly perfect. The portions were huge, we all had lunch the next day. If you want fresh, yummy, reasonably priced Thai food with great service, this is your spot! read more

We love Thai food and have eaten it in many places even restaurants owned by Thai friends and this place ranks in our top three. The Tom Kha Gai was paler yet more flavorful than many we have enjoyed, the coconut drink was very full of flavor, my duck rolls and duck salad were delicious and in both cases the duck was perfectly prepared. The service was excellent and the price was a bargain for what was provided. read more

We love this place. The interior is cozy, with lots of fun Thai decorations from Thailand. Everyone in the restaurant I would bet Is of the same Thai family, and their food would certainly attest to that. The online menu, depending on what site you use, can be a bit confusing, but if you call, they have had no problem making whatever I ask. We had the sweet and sour pork, which was delicious and the chicken basil which was chock full of fresh vegetables. I got chili's on the side since eating with non-Spicy parents, and that worked perfectly. Friendly, fast, fresh, and delicious. Give them a try! read more

Went there a few years after they opened the newer place after closing the store they had with the restaurant and owner was kinda stand off ish when I was there with a few teens and just wanted boba tea, which at this point unless I ordered "bc it takes time to do boba tea" we couldn't get the tea. So I ended up spending 70$ in meals so I could get 4 boba teas. Bc of this I would not recommend. read more

So we were referred here from my sister in laws nurse and are we glad he did. We got spring rolls, mussels, curry puff, fried rice, crab wontons, pad Thai, beef salad and pad se ew. It was all delicious fresh and well packaged for pickup. It was all fresh and flavorful. I will definitely eat here again and suggest you do as well. Michael Panzegraf's birthday continues... we went to Thai Cafe in Port Charlotte for supper tonight. We started with crab Rangoon. They were the best we've had in ages! They were crispy and light with a yummy sauce. Mike had soft shell crab (2) with garlic/black pepper sauce and veggies (zucchini, peppers, onions, mushrooms and broccoli) in a light brown sauce. I tasted it and boy you could taste how fresh everything on his plate was. I got the volcano chicken. It comes to the table on fire. Hope you can see it in the picture. It was chunks of lightly breaded chicken in a light sauce over the same type of vegetables. The veggies were crisp tender, lots of flavor, not salty but well seasoned. The chicken was tender and popped with flavor. Nom was the hostess with the mostest! We laughed and had a great time. Cookie was our server and she's always great. If you like Thai food, this place is definitely a must try. read more

The best crispy duck and curry duck in the area. No meal is complete without the coconut seafood soup it's simply the best hands down. I've eaten all the coconut soups in the area and this one takes the cake. The service is great. Friendly staff. Definitely my number one Thai food place. read more

My husband and I went to the Thai Cafe for the first time this week. Now I must say we compare all Thai food to our favorite place, Royal Thai Palace, in Tampa. We still haven't found any we like better, so with that in mind, back to the Thai Cafe. We had lunch entrees, which included soup. It was a little cup of soup, but I give it five stars, it was yummy and lacked nothing. We also ordered the Thai vegetable spring rolls. They were okay, but not as good as our standard. My husband had the sweet and sour pork. He enjoyed it, but said it was a little lite on the pork and the three out of five spice wasn't hot enough for him. I had the chicken panang, again it was no competition for my Tampa standard. The texture and color were different, but overall it was just okay. The waitress brought a bowl of three sauces to our table, one vinegar base, one hot chili pepper based, and one fish sauce based. The pepper base was the only one we liked, and the bowl and spoons looked like they could use washing. All I could think about was how they were probably passed around from table to table with everyone handling the spoons that were rarely washed. This leaves the decor, which was tired and dusty. The wine menu on the table hadn't been wiped down in awhile and the crocheted salt and pepper covers needed washing. This only makes me think the lack of attention to detail in the dining room cleanliness probably carried on into the kitchen. Last but not least the fortune cookies were stale and tasted like the cheapest that could be bought. I was hoping for better of the Thai Cafe. It will do in a pinch, but we'll keep looking for some comparable Thai in SWFL. read more

I have visited this restaurant both for dinner and for takeout lunch. Service is friendly and good, both times I had the red curry with chicken and it was very good. The dinner portion is a good size but the lunch size is very small for $9.95, so I'll be back for dinner but will go to Thai Chef for lunch instead. read more

aApparently this establishment doesn't need or want my my business. The website said open until 8,. We arrived at 7:25 when open sign was on. They promptly turned it off when we pulled up to the front door. Piece of advice, if you want to close at 7:30 don't advertise you're open until eight . Lost our business for good. Have tried several local thai locations in the Port Charlotte area hands down this is the best. The food is freshly prepared with a large authentic thai menu. The hot and sour soup was outstanding. The house volcano shrimp is a must try. And the authentic pad thai is always a favorite. read more

For a small town, food at this restaurant is surprisingly good. We ordered a Seafood soup (assorted seafood with mushrooms, bellpeppers, lemon grass in sour broth), broth is not overly sour. Volcano shrimp (fried shrimp sauteed with chili paste, garlic and mixed vegetables), very tasty, not too oily, and finally, fish curry, not really spicy at all. Overall, my husband and I, we enjoyed the food a lot. Service is attentive and price is affordable. We'll definitely come back to try more. read more
