Very good pho noodles, still chewy even til the last few bite. Clear broth very flavorful. I ordered the combo, i like the beef thick and not try. Fried egg roll has taro aroma, pork inside taste yummy. It's not rice paper but it's still good. Pork chop rice is 3/5. I was expecting shredded pig skin or steamed egg to go with it. Stopped by on my way home from work at 3:30 pm on a Friday. Due to the weird hour, there were only two groups eating and a few people walking in and out. The restaurant was quite big with many tables, so would be a great place to sit and eat. I went to the back where the register was and ordered a chicken banh mi and a taro smoothie to go. I waited about 5-10 min for my food, the smoothie was ready first and it was delicious, like taro smoothies I've had elsewhere. The sandwich came out and I left. I really enjoyed the banh mo. Good meat, well cooked, generous with veggies. More onions than I've typically had on banh mi which was a nice flavor addition. The portion size was large, but I would have liked more beef in it. The broth's flavor was elevated with lime, basil leaves, and siracha. My friend ordered the rice plate served with grilled pork chop, fried egg, and Vietnamese sausage. I tried a piece of it, and the pork was grilled to perfection and had good flavor. Best Pho I've tried, the passion fruit tea was so good my friend and I had two one for the meal and one to go for a walk on the beach. The restaurant was being ran by two gentleman, one taking orders and making teas,& the other appeared to be the chef who made his way around tables checking in that everyone was satisfied with their meals. Pho Delicious is a much-welcome addition to West Haven's sorely lacking Asian culinary scene, conveniently located in the Savin Rock Plaza near the beach. Parking is plentiful, and the restaurant can comfortably accommodate groups of all sizes, from small to large gatherings. The combination pho was solid. If I compare it to some of the best pho I've had in Connecticut however, I felt the broth was lacking in depth and aroma, and the meat could have been more tender. The portion was sufficient for their regular size, and the price was reasonable for today's market. They definitely skimp on the garnishing on the side for the pho compared to other places, but it's the perfect amount for someone like me that usually doesn't add all the vegetables. The Bun Thịt Nướng, Chả Giò was quite good. For those unfamiliar, it's basically vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls. I found the pork was cooked and seasoned well and the vegetables were crisp and fresh. I thought the egg roll was flavorful as well, although my dining partner thought it could have used more filling. The menu is not as extensive as it seems at first glance. Many of the vermicelli and rice items are essentially the same dish but with a different protein. The menu that they had as of 10/3/24 also doesn't number the menu items, which can make it more challenging for both the customer and the server when placing orders since most of the menu is in Vietnamese. Be sure to try their drinks. I only had the avocado smoothie, but I was so impressed with it that they've convinced me to try their other drinks for next time. The smoothie was kind of thick, so I recommend requesting a boba tea straw because I was struggling to drink mine out of a regular straw. I'm thrilled to finally have a Vietnamese restaurant where I don't need to travel out of town for! Its location near the beach also makes it a perfect spot for a meal followed by a relaxing walk on the broadwalk. I was saddened to hear when Iishin Ramen Bar closed, and I'm hoping Pho Delicious has better success! We need more diverse Asian dining options in West Haven! read more

All you need to know about this restaurant is in the name...it's DELICIOUS!! Honestly, this is the best Vietnamese restaurant I've eaten at on the east coast. It would fit right in with the best ones in California and Washington, where the Asian population is much higher and therefore they just have more options to choose from. As of Aug 2025, I've gone twice now to Pho Delicious and was blown away both times by the super friendly customer service, the freshness of their food, and the obvious love and attention the chef puts into the many hours it takes to prepare the meats and broth. Hoai, the chef and owner, absolutely knows what he's doing! So far, I've tried the following dishes: crispy egg roll, fresh spring roll, chicken wings, short ribs with rice, bun thit nuong, pho bo, and shaking beef. Everything was outstanding! Never over salted nor under seasoned. And for what it's worth, it's not your typical ambiance where the food is delicious but the restaurant itself is kinda cruddy and run-down looking. Hoai put as much thought into how he wanted it to look and feel as he does into his menu. It's a beautiful, pleasant, relaxing blend of east-meets-west. My only complaint? Why can't his restaurant be closer to where I live? It's almost an hour drive for me to get there, but I gotta admit, it's worth it!!! This is my 3rd visit here...today's visit is somewhat different. I ordered the chicken pho , but the garnishment that came with it was somewhat disappointing. I received 1 piece/ small stalk of slightly wilted cilantro & 2 slices of jalapeño peppers. But one slice contained brown seeds. Nevertheless, I'm a huge fan of Asian cuisine, and I never experienced having this type of garnishment with my pho compared to Pho Viet in Newington. The best pho in west haven, new haven. The small looks like a big and delicious . I told them what I was allergic to soy, wheat, they told me none of that is in there. The owner came over and was surprised my bowl was clean not on drop. We had a nice conversation. He said "you must try the milk tea my wife made it". I said "sure I got the coconut". I've been eyeing this place before it opened. I came on the opening day. I ordered beef brisket pho with some Thai iced tea. The hospitality was unmatched! They seat you quickly and greet you at the door. The prices are great (esp. with this economy haha). The Thai iced tea was made deliciously. I may or may not have finished it too quickly . The pho?? The owner was so accommodating, giving us some additional homemade sauces to try with our dinners. We had the Shaking Beef with Rice and two Vermicelli dishes (one with chicken, one with tofu). Felt like I was eating at a cafeteria with bright lights and lack of decor. Not on printed menu was banh mi. After I got my food, I saw others eating banh mi. Apparently it's a special written on a board behind the counter which I had no chance of seeing. The shining point is we think the cook came out , he greeted every table.
