Hashi is so underrated and not noticed by enough people!! The owners are the nicest people and always remember what I order when I come in. I always get the Chicken Panang, which is the best! It has so much flavor and so much food that I end up with lots of leftovers. I love not having to worry about being presented with dirty silverware or tables like I've experienced at some other restaurants. It's always super clean. For a town the size of Derby that doesn't have a lot of Asian options, this is a GREAT place to choose. They have a Chinese, Japanese, and Thai menu. My wife and I have tried a few of their options and we both agree, the sushi here is fantastic. It's good quality, with a generous amount of seafood meat and little rice. Often times, restaurants try to fool you with affordable sushi by giving you a ton of rice. But here, they hook you up. The wonton soup here is excellent as is mosh of the Chinese dishes we tried. We are excited to try their Thai menu options in the future. Service was absolutely excellent. This place deserves way more dine in business than what they are getting. read more

Knocking off a star as their thai food is horrible. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. You can tell by just looking at how white the pad thai is in my photo. Pad thai should have an orange color because of the tamarind, but here there's none of that or even a resemblance to flavor of pad thai. I almost think they forgot to put sauce on it as it just tastes like steamed noodles. Also it was crazy busy during dinner time and the front was definitely chaotic and disorganized. Long line of people waiting to pick up their order.. i waited 30min for my takeout and watched people come back because they were missing rice from their order. Seeing that its a new restaurant, I think they are still working out the kinks. Next time I will stick with the Chinese dishes which was good. I do not recommend the thai and have yet to try the Japanese. read more

For a brand new restaurant I didn't know what to expect. I checked some of the menu online and decided to give it a try. Upon walking in the door I was treated by a delightful smell. We were seated quickly and the waiter took our orders promptly. I started with a sweet potato maki, and it was cooked to perfection. I then tried their Vegetable Delight. My friend ordered the Szechuan chicken. The food was awesome. Very fresh, great portions and tasted amazing. Bonus points for VERY affordable pricing!! Visited yesterday for the first time for lunch with a friend from work. Very friendly staff. Pretty good sized place - for a Friday lunch there were no more than 3 tables at a time. Menu is fairly extensive with traditional Chinese, Thai, and sushi options. I had drunken noodle which was very good - just the right amount of heat and plenty of flavor. I'll always give a place a chance and I have at least one usual standby item and another I absolutely try if it's on the menu. In that sense I was slightly disappointed in that the Mapo Tofu was of the Japanese style: mild and slightly sweet instead of the Chinese Ma-La numbing spicy. The peas and carrots were a bit odd too, but it still tasted good albeit not what I expected. The Wonton Soup was very good though. The menu for Hashi is large - impressively large, it rivals another place in a nearby town that had been around since I came here, and I feel like they might be pressed to keep the entire menu as is in the future - It crosses between American-Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Sushi and Thai cuisine and in some of those areas there isn't a lot of overlap in ingredients, so I believe they're testing out the waters right now. The seating arrangement looks fairly standard, even somewhat cozy, and the inside is clean and well spaced. Hopefully they can continue to draw good business and refine their menu read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were first time customers- NEVER again. We were mocked by the manager over the phone whom had absolutely no care or concern about our simple request of adding extra steak that we wanted to pay extra for And did NOT get. We left a generous tip and were disappointed to find the portion along with no utensils (which I asked for as well and was told they were already in the bag). Terrible experience, I suggest their employees in management take a class or two at the local community college on customer service and hospitality. Maybe it will teach that manager a thing or two about being a decent human being. read more

We decided to check out this place tonight. It's relatively new, having opened a few months back. Always looking for good Asian food in the Valley as our choices haven't been that good for several years. We both started out with soup, I had miso soup and my other half had Tom Kha soup with shrimp. Both of them were excellent especially being a cold rainy evening. I really liked the broth in the Tom Kha soup. I'm not much of a seafood person, but the broth was not fishy at all. For our entrées, we ordered chicken, lo mein, chicken, with broccoli, and pork fried rice. Everything tasted very fresh. It was very satisfying. The sauce on the chicken with broccoli was not overly salty and had very good flavor. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. Prices are very reasonable and the portions were large, I'm going to have a few leftover meals from what I ordered. It's nice now that we have very good Chinese food in the Valley! Second time now they got our order wrong. Food is good, but having to drive back to get the right order is just ridiculous. I don't even know what to say about what just happened. The young woman who took the order was extremely confused on what sashimi was! She over charged us by $15. Boyfriend went to pick up the food and confirmed with them verbally what the order was and gets back home to see it was wrong. He is now kicking himself that he didn't check it there. read more
