    Pho 75 Herndon

We have been patrons through all the craziness of prior to COVID and still to this day. Mr. Tranh Dang is the proprietor and always smiles when we dine in or carry out. The year 1975 is when he immigrated to the USA during the civil war. An American success story!!!!

I really enjoy this Pho restaurant, it has become my go to for Pho. Their vegetable rolls are really tasty and crispy. I get the P3 beef Pho in the regular size. I enjoy the flavor and it has a good amount of meat and noodles. They also provide a good portion of bean sprouts and basil on the side. The service has been speedy each time I have been. The inside of the restaurant is pretty large and has plenty of seating.

Check this out Vegan choices vegetarian friendly. Low salt Delicious food Incredible customer service Hmmm... why I did not discover this amazing hole-in-wall place? I had Lẩu Canh Chua Chay - Tamarind Flavor Soup w/ Tofu and Vegetable in Hot Pot Definitely our go-to place!!!

Our meal - chicken noodle soup with egg noodles + pork, fried rice and plate of garnish (jalapeño slices, sprouts, basil - FRESH!)

**NOTE: DO NOT CONFUSE THIS PLACE WITH A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT WITH SIMILAR NAME (PHO 75 RESTAURANT also in Herndon)!! This place is called PHO DULLES 75 AND IS WAY BETTER (AND THIS PLACE ACCEPTS CREDIT CARDS!)** Of the very limited authentic Pho noodle places in the Reston Herndon area, Pho Dulles 75 is the place to go for an all around enjoyable, tasty, BEST VALUE (MONEY'S WORTH) perspective. This place was a favored go-to, pre-covid. It thankfully survived covid and now, post-covid and most importantly as inflation is becoming an issue and as people are seriously re-assessing the value of what you get for what you spend when they eat out, Pho Dulles 75 remains a go-to. Let's face it - allllll restaurants (fast food joints to fine dining and everything in between) are squeezing out customers. I see it everywhere - higher prices for everything, charging for things that used to be complimentary (bread baskets, sauces), smaller portions, smaller containers (shrinkflation), or smaller portions IN smaller containers at a higher price (the triple whammy). It really is getting out of hand. Charge all you want guys - at some point, customers will just not come and pay the undeserving higher prices being charged. I look to find the value plays. PHO DULLES 75 HAS STAYED TRUE TO THEIR PRICES AND GENEROUS PORTION SIZES (no skimping here). THE QUALITY AND TASTE OF THEIR DISHES HAS REMAINED HIGH. THEIR INGREDIENTS CONTINUE TO BE FRESH (see my pics). THE PLACE IS SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, has loads of table seating, and plenty of lot parking out front. THE OWNERSHIP HAS STAYED THE SAME - the same owner who opened the place 10+ years ago greets you, seats you and still remembers your order!!! THE MENU IS IMPRESSIVELY EXTENSIVE - pages and pages and pages of delicious items to choose from. THE BEST PHO WITH THE MOST FLAVORFUL BROTH. A plate of the FRESHEST basil, spouts and jalapeño slices accompany your soup feast. Beer and wine served. Bubble tea in different flavors. THE best spring rolls. Grilled meat and broken rice dishes. ALL AUTHENTIC OF COURSE. And service is exceptional. Dishes come out pronto and piping hot. And, bottom line, GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY. So, I ask - what more do I need to say about this place??!! The only thing to note is this place CLOSES MUCH EARLIER THAN IT USED TO since covid. Now closes at 9PM so if you're a late night Pho craver like we are (or used to be), plan accordingly. Other than that, Pho Dulles 75 is the OG in the Reston/Herndon area - and is even worth the drive out to if you're out of the area. Well worth a stop in!!

TLDR: quick service, relatively large space, parking available, ample options, deep flavor pho On an afternoon on a weekend we were seated right away, there were maybe 4 other groups there and room for many more. We ordered quickly, and were served quickly. The pho was a good size and the price was a little more than I like, but it's just the times I guess. The flavor was definitely there and I thought the noodles were perfect I would have like to see more peanut sauce with the fresh rolls but we didn't ask, so if we asked I'm sure they would have !

We were staying in the area prior to our early morning flight and were in the mood for pho. We searched on yelp for pho that was rated well and also convenient since we were unfamiliar with the area. We arrived about 4:15pm on a Monday afternoon and there were a few people seated. The interior and exterior looked well maintained and clean. We took a seat and were provided menus right away. Our drink orders were taken and we looked at the menu. They had a wide selection of pho along with many other items but we honestly didn't pay much attention to the rest of the menu since we were focused on pho! Our orders were taken and our spring rolls arrived in just a few minutes and looked and tasted good. Our pho arrived while we were still munching on our appetizer and looked delicious! They were very generous with the toppings and as we ate we both commented that the meat was lean and there was a lot of it. The beef broth was delicious too and was just what we were looking for. We would definitely recommend!

One of the best pho I've had in a long time! The broth was delicious, along with plenty of noodles and meat. You have the choice between a regular and large bowl; if you get the Dulles 75 Special Combination Bowl then it's an extra $1. The bean sprouts, jalapeños, lime and basil were really fresh. Service is great here - our pho was brought out very quickly and everyone was very nice. The restaurant is super clean and spacious. I don't know if it's due to COVID, but there were no Sriracha or hoisin sauce bottles; instead they brought out a small dish with the sauces in it already. This actually works for me but it means you have to flag down a server if you want more. I'm very happy I found this place and can't wait to be back for lunch!

Solid pho for the area. I'd order again but an not sold this is the best NoVA has to offer. Had the place to myself for dine in. No chili oil or sriracha...just a prepared dish of hoisin and 'hot sauce'. Lots of noodles and broth with an acceptable amount of meat but not generously portioned meat and a few pieces an odd yellow gristle attached.

Pretty good, but a little deceptive. Since I am trying to stay within the realms of my pallet, and did not want to change it severely, I decided to go one more round of Vietnamese food. I got the same thing I had gotten the last two rounds, and I succeeded in getting quality taste! I was a bit let down by the fact that they gave me a lot of lettuce in there with the greens, but the pickled vegetables and meat were cooked exceptionally well. Everything tasted great and the noodles were probably some of the best I had in regards to this cuisine. They were liking a flowing ribbon aching to be cut. The price was absolutely perfect and you really cannot get a better deal for it. I would gladly come back here again and order another dish. I feel the owner really wants people to be happy here. I think there is a language barrier here because I also ordered summer rolls, but I did not get them because of a "misunderstanding". The owner claimed he heard me order them, but his daughter, who works at the restaurant as one of the servers, did not. At least the owner was nice not to bill me for something I did not get (some restaurants will try to cheat and say you had said item). But he had good integrity and knew what went on. $10 for a filling lunch and me leaving a happy customer is better than $0 and losing my business for good. Do not expect anything fancy here. But expect some great eats at a reasonable price!

One of the places that I go to because of its proximity, and on a cold day, pho is good. This place has a lot of seating and seating hasn't been a problem the two or three times I've been. They are quick to come over and hand the menus and ask what I want. I go for their Pho 75 Special Combination Bowl. They are not stingy on the beef and yes, it does come with bean sprouts, mint, and lime on the side. Their bowl is more than enough (and I add a good amount of Sriracha and hoisin sauce in the dish). It's decent and will most definitely fill you up. (They give you a lot of oodles yay). Their broth is just alright. Their summer roll is something else though- I'd skip and pass on it completely. It doesn't taste even close to what I'd expect from a pho place and doesn't have any flavor (hello peanut sauce). Hard pass on this. Definitely gets their job done, and their staff do a fantastic job getting everything up and ready so quickly.

Nothing exceptional but good quality, good food And a fair amount of steak in mine for $16. I wish I could say the same about the service or lack there of provided by the two young female servers. For starters, they have zero communication skills. They drop things at the table and just stand there without a word. I did not receive the Vietnamese coffee that I ordered until I asked for it nor was I asked whether or not I wanted it with whipped cream - there's was no description on the menu so I wasn't aware it came with whipped cream. When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. It's a shame because I saw several other things on the menu that I'd like to try but I'm not interested in being in that unpleasant atmosphere again

The decor was really nice too! Modern with a touch of fun and eclectic. Fortunately, my friends had already been here before, so I had plenty of good suggestions to consider. I opted for a plate that was heavy in vermicelli noodles, and upon ordering the server who took my order highly suggested that I order the woven vermicelli meal that came with lemon grass beef. My mom and I were seated right next to the front door by the manager. Since it was freezing outside and the door kept opening, we politely asked if we could move to a table away from the draft. He told us no because a large group was expected to arrive soon. We then asked another employee, who said it wouldn't be a problem and moved us to a different table. A few moments later, the manager noticed we had been reseated. He came over, abruptly took the menus from our table, and angrily told us to leave the restaurant. The way he spoke to us was aggressive and totally uncalled for, especially considering his own staff had seated us. We decided to leave at that point. As we were heading out, he raised his voice again and told us to "go home," which was embarrassing and uncomfortable with other diners around. There was no confrontation on our end -- we didn't argue, complain, or cause a scene. We simply asked not to sit in the cold draft by the door. The entire situation escalated solely because of how the manager handled it. It's disappointing because the restaurant advertises friendly, welcoming service, which was the complete opposite of what we experienced. After reading other reviews, it also seems this isn't an isolated issue. If the owners see this, I'd strongly suggest addressing how customers are spoken to. No one should be yelled at or treated aggressively for making a simple, reasonable request.

After seeing that Pho Duong was getting good reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were here on a Sunday around 4:30. That was a good time to go as there were only two occupied tables at the time. When we entered, an employee was eating his meal. He told us to pick any table we wanted. After doing so, he gave us menus plus a carafe of iced tap water, which we appreciated. I ordered a small bowl of pho ga with white meat chicken, and my husband ordered a large bowl of pho with seafood. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. It was piping hot and accompanied by aromatics consisting of bean sprouts, fresh mint, lime wedges, and sliced fresh jalapeños. As for the food, we both liked the beef broth. My bowl had some large shredded pieces as well as smaller pieces of chicken. The larger ones were on the dry side, but the broth helped by adding moisture. My husband's large bowl had a good number of shrimps as well as seafood, which he couldn't identify. He showed me one piece that looked like a scallop to him, but he said it didn't taste like one. I also thought, from what he showed me, there was some squid in the bowl. Service was excellent from start to finish. When it's time to pay, you go to the counter, and an employee will ring you up. The place was kept very clean. While the decor is spare, it gives off the vibe of a good spot to enjoy a meal. And, yes, next time we want pho, this is where we'll go.

My wife and I frequent the Centreville location, though the distance and frequent queue deter us from visiting as often as we would like. This new outpost is much closer to our home, so we decided to check it out when the need for hot noodle soup emerged due to a bad cold. The ambiance here is basic but clean and quiet. Service ran pleasantly and efficiently despite only one server manning the dining room. On our first visit, we opted for the bun rieu and a bun thit nuong as well as nem nuon cuon. We slightly prefer the bun rieu at the Centreville location due its richer and more tomato-y flavor, though the rendition here still deeply satisfied with plenty of shrimp paste and a more seafood-forward broth. The nem nuong and bun thit nuong were both decent. I wish both carried a bit more char from the grill, and some of my grilled pork pieces were a little stringy. The pickled veggies themselves tasted fresh but had minimal acid. We have also gotten takeout from this location. The staff pack the orders very neatly, which is crucial for noodle soup. The broth remains piping hot despite a ~20 minute car ride. The pho itself ran a little more sweet and rich relative to the Centreville location and to our preferred taste, but still was very tasty and comforting. Additionally, we felt the portion sizes here are a bit more generous regarding meats. Overall, we still slightly favor the food at our go to Centreville Pho Duong, but if we need a quicker fix or takeout we won't hesitate to return to this specific location.

Indeed, most of the Vietnamese clientele in the small restaurant seemed to be enjoying hot bowls of bun bo hue, so I went with a bowl of that and my non-beef-eating wife chose the bun rieu. The bun bo hue possessed a clean yet very flavorful broth with notes of lemongrass and hot chili. The meat portions included generous slices of beef shank, pork trotter, blood cake, and pork sausage. Some of the beef shank cuts were a little tough, but the meats otherwise tasted up to par. The accoutrement of herbs and veggies included some authentic, hard to find garnishes such as banana blossom and Vietnamese coriander, which added a fresh, crunchy bite to complement the heady soup. Overall, this was an excellent bun bo hue and rivals many you can get at Eden Center. Similarly, my wife's bun rieu was superb. The broth had a light body but a very distinct and savory shellfish flavor. The crab and shrimp paste had a very silky texture and the bouncy fried tofu cubes soaked up the tomatoey broth perfectly. The bun rieu ran just a touch salty overall, but nonetheless is among the better renditions we have tasted in the area. Our bowls were about $18 each. While a bit steep, the portions satisfied and the quality of ingredients merited the cost. As the name alludes, bubble tea is also served here. My wife enjoyed a solid taro milk tea along with her noodle soup. We have gotten drinks from here in the past and find the offerings above average though, unlike the awesome soups, not necessarily worthy of a dedicated stop. Teabreak also serves other Vietnamese dishes such as banh mi and meats over broken rice, which actually looked quite appetizing coming out of the kitchen. I give this place a solid 4 stars for really tasty, specialty noodle soups and can easily foresee a five star upgrade in the near future after sampling some more dishes.
