Since our go-to place for pho, Pho 75 Dulles, closed, we've been looking for a place that's close to where we live. After seeing that Pho Duong was getting good reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were here on a Sunday around 4:30. That was a good time to go as there were only two occupied tables at the time. When we entered, an employee was eating his meal. He told us to pick any table we wanted. After doing so, he gave us menus plus a carafe of iced tap water, which we appreciated. I ordered a small bowl of pho ga with white meat chicken, and my husband ordered a large bowl of pho with seafood. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. It was piping hot and accompanied by aromatics consisting of bean sprouts, fresh mint, lime wedges, and sliced fresh jalapeños. As for the food, we both liked the beef broth. My bowl had some large shredded pieces as well as smaller pieces of chicken. The larger ones were on the dry side, but the broth helped by adding moisture. My husband's large bowl had a good number of shrimps as well as seafood, which he couldn't identify. He showed me one piece that looked like a scallop to him, but he said it didn't taste like one. I also thought, from what he showed me, there was some squid in the bowl. Service was excellent from start to finish. When it's time to pay, you go to the counter, and an employee will ring you up. The place was kept very clean. While the decor is spare, it gives off the vibe of a good spot to enjoy a meal. And, yes, next time we want pho, this is where we'll go. read more

The Worldgate Pho Duong represents the newest location of this local, mini-chain of pho restaurants. My wife and I frequent the Centreville location, though the distance and frequent queue deter us from visiting as often as we would like. This new outpost is much closer to our home, so we decided to check it out when the need for hot noodle soup emerged due to a bad cold. The ambiance here is basic but clean and quiet. Service ran pleasantly and efficiently despite only one server manning the dining room. On our first visit, we opted for the bun rieu and a bun thit nuong as well as nem nuon cuon. We slightly prefer the bun rieu at the Centreville location due its richer and more tomato-y flavor, though the rendition here still deeply satisfied with plenty of shrimp paste and a more seafood-forward broth. The nem nuong and bun thit nuong were both decent. I wish both carried a bit more char from the grill, and some of my grilled pork pieces were a little stringy. The pickled veggies themselves tasted fresh but had minimal acid. We have also gotten takeout from this location. The staff pack the orders very neatly, which is crucial for noodle soup. The broth remains piping hot despite a ~20 minute car ride. The pho itself ran a little more sweet and rich relative to the Centreville location and to our preferred taste, but still was very tasty and comforting. Additionally, we felt the portion sizes here are a bit more generous regarding meats. Overall, we still slightly favor the food at our go to Centreville Pho Duong, but if we need a quicker fix or takeout we won't hesitate to return to this specific location. read more

I have always like Pho Duong and this is the Herndon location and opened sometime last year, it is much closer for me so now I don't have to drive to Centreville. The prices are very good compared to other options in this area. I usually get the combo pho with all of the meats. The broth is really good, I would rank them only behind pho 75. I only wish they give a little bit more noodles. The service is usually good here. read more

Nothing quite hits the spot like sipping on rich pho broth on a cool Fall morning! We were in the area and felt the pho broth calling to us so stopped by. The large pho was massive! This is it... Herndon's go to for excellent Vietnamese food. Not just Pho but Rice Dishes, Vermicelli noodles, Clay Pot Fish, and other traditional favorites. Located in Worldgate, this place offers a menu that will satisfy all taste palettes and preferences. Everything is freshly prepared and has generous portions. The service is very friendly and fast so don't expect to wait too long to order and be served. We decided to go with the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and the Vermicelli combination. The beef noodle soup was well balanced with flavors, had a ton of noodles and meat, and comes with a compliment of veggie toppings. The vermicelli was equally delicious and probably enough to serve 2. It came with an eggroll, grilled pork, shrimp, and shredded pork all brought together with a tasty fish sauce. Food here was very good - the Bahn mi was right mix of meat and pickled veggies - crispy roll had nice crunch to it. I could even go for a bit spicier, maybe a bit less mayo. The pho I went for their house special and it did not disappoint. Plenty of meat and sprouts and greens, noodles were great and the broth was rich and flavorful! Service was great - attentive and quick - helpful and talked me through all the options. Continued 4 STAR rating for Pho Duong at Worldgate for allllll the reasons I mentioned in my prev (and first) review of this place. Have a read. I'm not sure what the naysayers are talking about - what's not authentic about this ABSOLUTELY AUTHENTIC Vietnamese joint?!! Don't listen to them lol. This time, I called in a to go order for myself only - so I can also comment on how their to go orders are packed: CAREFULLY AND EXPERTLY PACKED - I posted pics of my to go order so have a look. Don't forget that if you get carry out or delivery, there WILL be condensation depending on how long the food has been sitting in the styrofoam container. So DON'T BLAME THE RESTAURANT lol! Not their fault - just happens. But they DO try their best to pack the meal in separate container sections and foil inside the container. Recommend asap opening the lid of the container to reduce further condensation (you'll prob need to re-crisp up the spring rolls and fried items if they've become soggy from the condensation - worth the extra effort!) Ordered #2 spring rolls (2) and #85 grilled and shredded pork with broken rice platter. Both items came with a nice fresh side salad garnish. Cost for my meal came to $20.79 to be exact - and let me tell you - it felt like literally 2 lbs of food! I actually split this meal at home into 2 equal portions and each half portion was PLENTY ENOUGH for me! (I did wish there was a little more of the shredded pork but the grilled pork was plentiful.) The spring rolls were amazing - long and tightly rolled, packed with meat and veggies, full of flavor, not greasy at all. SUPER SUPER DELICIOUS. Pho Duong is truly a value play for Vietnamese cuisine if you're looking for very fair prices for the quality and portion sizes you get here. We tried this place after reading reviews, came here for dinner on a Saturday around 6:40pm, only two customers which should have been the queue, however, we sat down and ordered our dinner anyway. The waiter was okay, but too busy with his phone, the table was sticky, and unclean. one of the customers told him they forgot to give him the spring rolls that he ordered, the waiter said "you should have told me"! WTF? Our food arrived, veggie were not fresh, chopsticks were moldy, okra were too tough to chew. One of the worst Vietnamese establishments we have been to and one that would not be a destination in the future. read more

Read good reviews and decided to try. If you like big portion for reasonable price, this is your restaurant. The portions are large but unfortunately lacking taste. We order a pho noodle with meatballs, a combo dry egg noodles with soup on side and a grill chicken with spring roll on rice vermicelli. The best tasting one would be the pho. The soup has a hint of sweetness but not overly sweet. The egg noodles lack any flavor with all the flavor in the side soup and accompanying meats. Can pour the soup into the noodle but it is a dry noodle dish. The vermicelli is clumpy with no taste. The pickle vegetables are chunky but the grill chicken had a lot of flavor. The accompanying sauce was insufficient for all the noodles. I guess I could have asked for more sauce in hindsight. The spring roll was just ok. This is a no frills restaurant with simple service. You order at table, they give you a bottle of water with cup. Pay at the counter when done. Nothing fancy. Plenty of other Vietnamese restaurants to try so not sure I will be back. read more

We came here for their grand opening special and were seated right away during lunchtime. I've been to their Fairfax location many years ago and was glad to hear they were expanding near my local area. There is a good flow of people dining in throughout the day. Their menu is extensive and has many options other than just pho. Our whole group ordered the pho grand opening special, and it was so good! A really great portion for a reasonable price. Love this pho place. Newest location to open in the Northern VA area. The workers are so kind to you and are very welcoming. It's nice to have a great pho place close to you. One of the things I love about this place is that they give you a lot of meat, which makes you full, compared to other restaurants. I like to get the "onions with vinegar". The onions can be more pickled, however. They also offer rice and vermicelli dishes and more - not just pho. I would come back and try their other dishes. Highly recommend! read more

I enjoyed the summer rolls as well, but Pho #44 for me is the best! Store is nice and clean, the manager (I think) is super sweet and nice always! I picked up some pho for takeout since I was in town for work and this was one of the few places open late. Word to the wise, don't get this for takeout unless you've got a big bowl to put it in. Unfortunately, this wasn't an option since I was staying at a hotel. The broth came in your typical soup takeout container and the rest of the ingredients were in a cardboard takeout tray. Since there wasn't much room in the broth container, I had to dip the ingredient's in piece-meal. All of the ingredients were cold too so I had to wait for each bite to warm up. I was super excited to try this place after i got my nails done. I ordered pho and spring rolls. i do understand that it was busy when i arrived, the guy behind the counter told me 20 minutes, which i thought was reasonable. I came back after 25 minutes, didn't get my food till 30 minutes after when i told him i was going to miss my uber home. Just plan to wait extra time if you don't dine in. Receive no mint, two single pieces of jalapeño. And everything was ice cold, I had to warm everything up (even the broth) in the microwave after less than 10 minute drive home. read more

Ordered No 76 (grilled pork, shrimp and spring roll with rice noodle. The rice noodle comes out hot and mushy. It was over cooked. Hardly pick up with chopsticks and no way to mixed the sauce. read more
