    N1 yum!!!!

I searched out a location that would give me a good pho. The reviews said it all so I came. It was good I only wished I had more broth. It was all noodles that I didn't eat. I did enjoy the tender meat, but I just wish there was more of it in the bowl. I was sick and it was the reason I came lesson learned.

I ordered the C9 (Grilled Pork Chop & Egg) and waited over 30 minutes for it to come out. When it finally arrived, the salad was drowning in sauce, way too much. The pork chop was dry, overcooked, and tough to get through. It just wasn't enjoyable. The service didn't make up for it either. No one really checked in or seemed to care if things were taking forever. I was hoping for a solid meal, but this one missed the mark. Most likely will not be back.

Wait is kinda long, they have a dining area out front and a dive bar behind the register. Dive bar way more popular it seems. Dining area is dingy, old, and a lil dirty. Food is okay- the vermicelli is probably a 6.5/10 but I've had worst. Portion is decent. Would I go again? Maybe with friends but it's not a first choice. Staff is nice so that's a plus.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner for the first time this past week. Upon first arrival, Pho Liu looks like your standard pho restaurant. However, once we entered through the doors, we saw that the restaurant was actually connected to a crowded bar in the back. The restaurant in the front though was relatively quiet with just a few diners. We were instantly greeted by the guy reviewers call Jimmy and sat at a table of our choice. Pho Liu has all types of pho including your standard steak, meatball, tripe, and flank pho as well as seafood and vegetarian pho options. They also have some rice and teriyaki dishes, bún (Vietnamese noodle bowls), and powdered bubble tea drinks. We ordered a large 32 (steak) ($12.99) and large 39 (steak and meatball) pho ($12.99). Like other pho places, the difference in price between a small and large bowl is $1, so customers are incentivized to buy the larger bowl. We received our orders within 7-10 minutes. The pho broth was flavorful and had good beef flavor to it. The noodles were also not overly cooked and portions were generous. They have hoisin sauce and chili oil at the table, but no sriracha which I thought was unusual. Compared to Pho Vien a few streets down, I personally think Pho Liu was much tastier. However, Pho Liu was a lot quieter with most customers just entering through to go to the bar. Overall: 4/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 3/5 for atmosphere

A pho place that doesn't close till 11p and the other half off the restaurant is a bar that doesn't close till later. All the staff are really nice and the owner Jimmy is always welcoming. For the pho, the broth was okay. I ordered the flank and rare steak. The broth was quite pale and was lacking a lot of flavor. It's okay though, hoisin and sriracha to save the day! Very generous with the amount of meat they put. Price is average but their pho broth was not worth it. Their spring rolls are pretty tasty. They were tiny for the $6. Bar wise- every time I visit, the bartender is so nice! She will take care of you, and makes the tastiest drinks. They have 2 golf games, karaoke on Saturday nights, skee ball and I think dart games too. They close at 2a and it's always a good time. You'll meet a bunch of interesting locals at the bar who live around the area.

Stop by this location and noticed that it looked like a dive bar style establishment. I was craving for some pho and I never been here before as I love to eat pho. The customer service level is casual, the food weight was anywhere between 10-12 minutes. This location also has a bar side adjacent to the dining area. Started off with a dish of spring rolls that comes with the peanut sauce. Spring came with shrimp and vermicelli, as well as vegetables inside. Very casual. Tasted the pho broth, I would prefer a bit sweeter. But it was OK. I ended up, ordering some to go food, beef, short, ribs, as well as the chicken bánh mì. overall I give it a three star because the environment could use a bit cleaning and sanitizing as well as a little more attention to the broth.

Prices have gone up. Here's the latest as of 04/23/22.

This place is killing it with the karaoke on Saturday nights! We dropped by and ordered to-go and we were surprised at the price difference based on the photos of the menu (just added some updated images with current prices). That said, the prices were still reasonable for the portion and quality. We got 3 pho types: steak, chicken, and seafood. The pho broth here good, but it was disappointing is that they don't have separate broths for the three types of proteins. There was a generous amount of bean sprouts and basil, as well as sriracha and hoisin. We also ordered the eggrolls, which were crispy and delicious. It truly tasted homemade, like our family makes, which was familiar and nostalgic... we highly recommend it. Lastly, we ordered some of the shakes, which are less like bubble tea, and more like shaved, flavored ice... the ice wasn't blended finely, so the shakes were a little more chunky than we're used to. The flavors were good, but definitely syrup based, versus fresh fruit. We would come back and try some of the rice dishes!

Probably one of the best pieces of meat I've had in a BBH and the main reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 3. Pro: Very savory and flavorful. Portion Con: Not enough noodles. Pro: For only $3, they'll bring out an extra bowl of noodles + broth. Price Con: $17 is a bit pricier than other spots. Pro: Got a punch card at the end--buy 5, get 6th bowl free. Atmosphere Pro: The restaurant was very clean, had modern decor, and there was plenty of parking in the plaza. The bowl came with a pork leg, which I usually personally prefer they leave out and sub with other meats, but at least it was super tender--tendons were very tender as well which was great. It was also a little too spicy (I overheard a staff even commenting "it looks so bloody today" right before bringing it out). But with all things considered, I'm happy to bring my review back up to 4 stars.

I thought in all of my fooding that I had found my "best" bahn mi sandwich. I was wrong. This was my favorite so far in life. The bread had a thin crispy golden outer layer and a warm fluffy interior. The veggies were crisp, flavorful, and pleasantly contrasting each other. I am unsure which part of this sandwich was my favorite as the parts all came together wonderfully. The pickled carrots were delicious. I ate many before even tasting the sandwich. Then there was the chicken! It tasted like it had been marinated then flame grilled by cherubs! We also got the short ribs (which I didn't try) and I was told they were even more delicious than the chicken. My wife's sister bit into one of the ribs and raised her head up saying, "yummmm." The tofu fresh roll was delicous and had a surprise crunch to it. They fry up spring roll wrapper and place it in the middle of the roll adding a little extra. Vermicelli was a 3.5 as it was fresh and a good serving (4) but the grilled pork was on the cooler side and didn't taste as crisp and fresh off the grill as you'd expect (3). Best part of the pho was the broth as it wasn't too salty like it can be sometimes elsewhere (4). Veggies were super fresh. Sliced beef was previously sliced and the whole chunk was placed in so you had to tease apart the slices from each other which was a little different than my experiences elsewhere. SKIP THE SPRING ROLLS. Picture had three shrimps/roll. Ours had 1/roll on one side with a slice of pork (I think) on the other. Seemed pretty skimpy if you ask me (2.5 at best). Service was good (4). Location was in a small strip mall with a Mexican and Indian place next door. The bars over nearly the entire front storefront were definitely interesting. For an out-of-towner, this part of Kent seems like a Santa Ana/Westminister/Garden Grove of OC, CA kind of an area with different ethnic offerings up and down the street.
