I came here for their special menu - Bun Cha Ha Noi. Other family members ordered G1. Mien Ga and Pho Chin Nam with seared beef belly on the side. Everything was delicious. Service was quite slow, but pleasant. We did wait about 45 minutes for our order. The owner also came to check on our table which is a very nice touch : ) I"ll definitely come back for Bun Cha Ha Noi, and to try out their Bun Bo Hue.

Food was delicious, unfortunately they are not generous with their meat in the pho. Counted 5 pieces of meat, I'm assuming one would hope for a couple more pieces when paying almost $16 per bowl. Fried chicken was nice and flavorful. Thai tea was good but it was filled with too much ice. The service was a little bit slow, more than 20 minutes to get the appetizer in but overall the entire staff was kind and friendly. Ambiance I will say was odd, a lot of the time they had some sort of podcast playing in the overhead speaker.

Best Pho in the city, good portion size on all the dishes. Super nice staff, and the restaurant is always clean.

This place is a must try for Pho lovers! The broth was absolutely delicious and the noodles are made in house! I got the classic beef pho (P1) and had plenty to take home for leftovers. The service was also excellent -- the staff was very kind and attentive. I went on a weekend and they also had an assortment of treats. I got a ube mochi and it was the perfect sweet treat! This was my first time trying this place and I am adding it to my list for favorite Pho spots! Will be back soon!

I have been to this restaurant twice. The first was carry out and it was delicious and prepped perfectly. My husband and I went for dinner the second time and the pho was amazing, piping out and lots of meat and veggies. The service was superb. It was only one person, but she took care of all our needs. The restaurant has a nice comfortable vibe with plants all around and pictures all around. What I especially like is the temperature of the dining area, not too warm or too cool but it felt really good with the piping hot pho. We previously went to Grand Pho, which is now closed. The broth is just as savory and good as Grand Pho.

Pretty good pho! Broth is flavorful, meat is good, and noodles are plentiful. The service is a tiny bit slow but friendly. I tried the Dumpling Soup appetizer and the Pho Dac Biet. The Dumpling soup is very garlicky, fairly large, and has 8 standard chicken dumplings. The Pho Dac Biet was great (but since I have a big appetite I ended up asking for a side of extra meat). The broth is good, but adding the Hoisin sauce from the bottle on the table brings it to the next level. The bowl is chock full of noodles, and my bowl included vietnamese meatballs (okay), tendon (good), and eye-round meat (rare, beefy). My friend also got the thai iced tea and it was delicious. Not a bad spot!

I was craving pho so I decided to come here on a weekend lunch. Side note: I love how many pho restaurants there are in St. Louis. We were seated immediately and had our order taken as well; however, it took them almost an hour for our food to arrive so we were kind of off to a poor start (-1 star). I ordered the Pho Tai Chin Nam which had both rare and well-done beef. I think mine only had well-done beef but that was okay. I actually really liked the broth as it had a strong beef flavor. I did think the beef was a little bit too chewy but it went very well with the sriracha and hoisin sauce. Honestly, I would say this is probably the second or third best pho in St. Louis after Truc Lam. Overall, not a bad place to eat at all. The pho won't be mind-blowing but it'll definitely fulfill your cravings. The only thing is to budget some time when you come here as you might be waiting awhile for your order to arrive...

Absolutely the best Pho in the city! The Broth is flavorful but not greasy and the veggies are fresh and vibrant. The staff seemed to be light on the evening we went so things were a little slow but they were more than friendly and accommodating.

It looks like an ordinary place from the outside but the vibe is different inside. It is definitely more of a casual spot to solve your Vietnamese cravings. A lot of students from Saint Louis University come here so it's kind of the place where you bring your friends , have some food and drinks and talk about your trashy exes. I got the pho with lean beef. The portion is big with a lot of noodle. I wish they gave a little more beef. The broth was flavorful but just needed a little more kick to it. The wait time was long - I believe they are understaffed. However, I recommend this place if you are nearby and craving Viet food.

I have been coming to Pho Long since pre-covid. Their happy hour drink prices - on glasses of wine- are the perfect end to a stressful day. The brisket spring rolls are so delicious and I've gotten several of my friends hooked on them! This is my favorite restaurant to get pho. The restaurant is clean, while they do get busy the severs are personable. The music that they play creates a good vibe as well.

When you walk in you are always greeted with a smile. The seating is quite close but not so close you cannot walk through. Tables and booths. Very clean and well kept. Your order can be family style or individual. Family style allows you to share tea and big serving bowls of soups. Now for the good stuff. The menu is varied with authentic or Americanized "Asian" stirfry and egg rolls. The Pho is outstanding! My goodness, the flavors of the broth, with added ingredients from chicken and beef to vegetarian. What brings it home are the side dishes of flavor bombs they serve along side: jalapeños, bean sprouts, and Thai basil. Add it to the soup and the noodles seem to envelope it all with an explosion of flavor as you slurp even to the last drop. And grab those last leaves or noodles with your chopsticks. It's worth every bite. I highly recommend Mai Lee, as it is at the top of our all-time favorites list.

I knew they don't take reservations and won't seat an incomplete party, but I still got there a little early just to see if we could grab a table for five. I was surprised (in a good way) when they seated me before everyone else arrived. I even told the hostess I didn't mind waiting, but she encouraged me to go ahead and sit, which was really nice. Our server was super friendly and made sure I was taken care of while I waited. As my friends started arriving, he was quick to get them settled in too. We started with some non-alcoholic drinks and spent some time chatting before diving into the menu. It was honestly hard to pick just one thing, so I went with both the chicken pho and fried rice. I knew I wouldn't finish it all, but I really wanted both. Once we ordered, everything moved smoothly--our server checked in, made sure drinks were filled, and kept things organized. When the food came out, everything looked amazing and tasted just as good. Of course, with all the catching up we were doing, it took us a while to finish, but there was no rush at all. When we were ready, he brought the checks and was more than happy to split them out (always appreciate that!). Before leaving, I ordered a to-go meal for my husband and asked for a box for my leftovers. Our server actually took my plate and packed everything up in the back, which I wasn't expecting but really appreciated. He also brought out the to-go order right when it was ready. Honestly, everything, from the space to the service to the food, was just great. I'm already looking forward to going back again soon.

They are genuinely warm. Smiley, accommodating, almost joyful in a way that catches you off guard. Like, they're so cheerful it almost reads as a movie-trope diner waitress, except there's nothing performative about it. No manipulation, no over-the-top energy; just real, good-natured hospitality. It sets the tone for the whole meal. I had the spare ribs, which are the headline. Large, excellent, easily a main meal on their own. I paired them with steamed broccoli and carrots and walked out feeling like I'd actually had a healthy dinner -- which is its own small miracle, for most restaurants. For my money, those ribs are the best I've had in St. Louis. I'd go back for that dish alone and sample around it. My wife also got the spare ribs pho. That's how good they are. The crispy spring rolls are excellent, right on par with the broader St. Louis Vietnamese scene, which, for the uninitiated, is genuinely strong. St. Louis was one of the major resettlement cities for Vietnamese refugees after the war, and the result is a city full of very good Vietnamese restaurants. That's both a compliment to Saigon Cafe and the reason it's not quite a 5-star for me. We went with three vegetarian/gluten-free friends, and one of the great gifts of any Vietnamese restaurant is that you can bring a group with all kinds of dietary restrictions and everyone walks away happy. Saigon Cafe handled it beautifully, everyone enjoyed their dishes. Maybe not anyone's new favorite Vietnamese spot, but solidly good across the board. 4.3 stars What would push it to five stars? A few signature dishes that genuinely separate it from the rest of the (very strong) St. Louis Vietnamese pack. The spare ribs are already there for me. A couple more like that and we're talking destination dining. If Saigon Cafe were a character, it would be Aunt May (Spider-Man). Not the headline hero, not the place anyone writes a movie about, but the one who quietly takes care of you, feeds you well, and is genuinely glad you came by. The warmth isn't a bit. The food isn't trying to impress anyone. You leave feeling looked after, which is a rarer thing in a restaurant than it should be. The dining room is generally on the quieter side and the bar is very small, so it's more of a relaxed dinner spot than a scene. The big practical win: you can stay in the Central West End and skip the trip down to South Grand. Convenient, charming, and reliably good, that's a hard combination to beat in your own neighborhood.
