Awesome menu and delicious Vietnamese food in a bright, fresh space in downtown Webster Groves! I absolutely love this place. It's comfort Vietnamese food full of flavor with fresh, vibrant ingredients, and the portions are huge, especially for the price. We tried the chicken pho, chicken fried rice, steak bánh mì, crab rangoon, and vegetable spring rolls, and everything was fantastic. The pho had a deeply flavorful broth with tons of tender shredded chicken and noodles. The fried rice was made to order, packed with flavor, and incredibly fresh--honestly some of the best fried rice I've ever had, and easily enough for leftovers. The bánh mì was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, loaded with tender steak, crisp pickled vegetables and fresh greens on a perfectly crispy yet soft roll. You order at the counter, so I'd recommend checking out the menu before you arrive. Line gets long fast. The food came out quickly as each dish was ready, which was great. The space itself is large, with plenty of tables, and the decor is bright, simple, and clean.

I got the Chicken Lo Mein. The portions are HUGE here. The noodles were cooked well (al dente) and there was a lot of chicken for the portion. I did find it a little bland though. I found that better after I added some of the sauce that was available at the front counter (it was not labeled though, so I'm not sure what it was called). I thought it was pretty good value for the price though, and we'll probably give it another try.

Bigger home, same heart! Vietnamese hot spot DD Mau has officially settled into the former Weber's Front Row space, and with 6,000 sq ft to play with, there's room for more guests and more menu items. All their beloved staples made the move, (we finally tried those famous wings during the soft opening)! And an expanded kitchen means exciting additions like dumplings, pot stickers, and lo mein. Find your new favorite table at 8169 Big Bend in Webster Groves!

First time here. Wow this building sure has changed from what it was the sports bar. It's so bright and cheery and airy! We ordered crab Rangoon's for the table and I ordered one of the chicken bowls. It was very tasty. It had the peanut sauce on it. I did have to go up and ask for a second peanut sauce so I guess that was a good sign that it was good lol. It was definitely a filling meal. One of the guest with us ordered the tofu fried rice. There was so much fried rice in the bowl. He hardly made a dent in it. The rice was basically just rice and it looked like onions, no vegetables and it just the tofu. Their service was impressive. You did go up and order the fridge yourself and they brought it out to you. They brought each person's food out separately so you got it while it was hot. The only bad thing about that is you were stuck with the food in front of you and you felt bad eating before your other table guest. But these staff was very friendly and kept coming around to see if we needed anything else.

Was excited to try out the new location and we were very impressed! My fiancés first time trying Vietnamese food and he said it was very good. I am a huge fan of the pork vermicelli bowl, it never disappoints. The service was great and the new atmosphere was fantastic! There's so much more seating now which is great. Always a treat at DD Mau!

DD Mau Vietnamese Eatery @ddmaustl 8169 Big Bend in Webster Groves This Vietnamese joint offers a delightfully light and airy atmosphere with a wide variety of delicious options to enjoy. Their standout feature is the vegan broth, which is incredibly flavorful and satisfying, especially in the vegan pho with shrimp. We also savored the fresh spring rolls and the vegan chicken vermicelli bowl, both bursting with taste. For an extra kick, I recommend adding a spicy sauce to enhance the flavors, but you can customize your meal to suit your preferences. Overall, a fantastic spot that I highly recommend trying! Helpful staff too! *not halal but has vegan and seafood options https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRkkt1Xkmor/?igsh=MW8xN2FnYnNmaWFpbw==

So excited for the new location! The new Webster Groves location is beautiful and much more spacious than the previous store. We came on the day after the grand opening and it was great to see it so busy. We have frequented DD Mau for about 3 years now so it's great to see the growth! I ordered the new Lo Mein with vegan chicken and the veggie egg rolls. The veggie egg rolls always hit and the new Lo Mein is amazing! My favorite will always be the fried rice but this is a close second. I also highly recommend the vegan lemongrass soup to warm you up on a cold day! I appreciate that just about everything can be made vegan or vegetarian. Love it!

Got the chicken pho. The broth tasted clean but it was a bit salty for me. The portion was good for the price (I was surprised that I finished the noodles). I would try their other dishes next time (and my review might change). My friend liked the fried rice though! Food came out quickly after ordering and we were able to find seats (it wasn't too busy but there's also a lot of tables).

New location is even better and bigger! Spacious and pretty decor. Counter service where you place your order and then sit. We tried crab ragoon , egg rolls and lomein. All very flavorful while being healthy!

I had never tried DD Mau until this week, shocking right? We moved to Arizona when this place opened up in 2018, and we just recently moved back and realized they are still in Webster Groves, but are in an updated location. Let me tell you, the location is excellent! It's a bit hard to find parking, but the interior is extremely spacious and well-decorated. This place was packed when we arrived. The cashier was not very friendly or helpful with suggestions, but I appreciated that the menu and sauce list had descriptions. We decided to split the Pork Bao Buns, the Chicken Fried Rice, and the Meatball Pho. There are plenty of seasonings, sauces and utensils available, along with 2 types of water, at the self serve bar along the main wall. The food wasn't extremely impressive, sadly, but it wasn't bad by any means. The best item was the Pork Bao Sliders, they were delicious. The pork was tender and the buns were sweet and soft. The second best was the Chicken Fried Rice. It had that awesome browned flavor that STL is known for, but it was just a bit too greasy and salty to be fantastic. The worst item was the Meatball Pho. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good compared to other Phos I've tried in the area. Would we come back? Sure. Not tomorrow, not next week, but maybe sometime in the next few months. Nice remodel guys!

Chicken Fried Rice - love the mild flavor of this! It's not overly salty like some fried rice can be.

Exceptional food!!!! We found ourselves here when we were headed to Lemongrass and found out they had closed. Although I was disappointed to not dive into a crunchy rice hot pot, we were completely happy with our dinner. Servings are huge and we found out we could have definitely shared options, and we ordered a variety for the experience. We will for sure be back!

We love DD Mau so much! Great portion sizes, fresh food, amazing flavors. They are counter service so it's easy. The location is very clean and lots of natural light pours in. I really enjoy eating here and look forward to coming again soon

The fire place was beautiful. We sampled the regular Poutine and the Shrimp Cocktail. Poutine was delicious and difficult to stop eating. The shrimp was good shrimp. Nothing overly special about the shrimp, but the cocktail sauce was delicious!!!! I highly recommend getting a Grey Goose dirty martini. I do not know who the bartender was but I should have asked. My husband enjoyed his Old Fashions and the house red wine was delicious. We topped our drinks off with an espresso martini. It was exactly how it sounds. Our daughter got a peach tea fizz or spritz something. She liked it. We ordered the sirloin Stroganoff, the cheese perogie, and the fish n' chips, because you can never have enough fries. We loved all three. Probably would not order the stroganoff again, nothing negative about theirs, we just prefer our own family's recipe. The Perogies were delicious. College kid said they were much better than those served at school. She much prefers the crispy top to a soggy one. The fish made us long for Lent. Light, fluffy, delicious. Wasn't a big fan of the coleslaw. Again, just personal preference of liking more mayo and zero celery seeds and I can only guess that is what those were. Our server was amazing, attentive, busy, and needlessly apologetic. We were happy to get in early on New Years. If we wanted to, we could have waited 20 mins for an inside seat, but we really enjoyed the heated patio. They also have an upstairs area but we did not venture up there this time.

Service: Unfortunately, the standout feature of my multiple visits has been consistently rude bartenders. It's not a one-off incident; it's every single time. This creates an unwelcoming environment that overshadows everything else. Food & Drink: The food is mid--perfectly edible but forgettable. You're not coming here for a culinary experience. Atmosphere: During the holiday season, the beautiful space felt barren with not a single Christmas decoration. It was a stark missed chance to create some warmth and cheer. Verdict: The combination of persistently unfriendly service and average offerings makes it impossible to recommend. Such a great space deserves better execution.

I'm sorry we waited so long, this was an excellent lunch. There were three of us and we split an order of steamed pork dumpling, an order of steamed chicken dumplings and a smashed cucumber salad. All were very good. I probably prefer the pork, while Ms T prefers the chicken. Regardless I enjoyed them both. They are clearly fresh and house made. The meat is of good quality and nicely seasoned. The dumpling wrapper itself is not too heavy, so the whole thing works well together. We also enjoyed the cucumbers as a refreshing cold side to go with the piping hot dumplings. Dumpling servings are six and I can see Ms T and I splitting an order for lunch on occasion. With a salad, it would be plenty of food. This is a great find and very convenient for us. KT who accompanied us, is much more expert regarding soup dumplings than we are. She declared them to be the best she has had in St Louis! Good to know.

I get that this is a Thai restaurant, not Chinese (though it's more Chinese than I am), but Meyou might consider such a policy. I would have benefited from it yesterday. I visited on a Wednesday evening with members of a running group. There were umpteen of us. If we'd been given a single egg roll appetizer, we would have been forced to cut it in tiny pieces and share. I would have been willing to do that, because I'm a confirmed, avowed savage. My reputation precedes me. Arguably, they should give you one free appetizer for every six members of your party. But I digress. Now, where was I? Ah yes, Meyou. I'd describe this place as a somewhat Americanized version of Thai food, based on what little I know from having recently visited Bangkok and eaten in roughly 40 or 50 restaurants, food stalls and what have you over the course of a few days, i.e. not a whole lot. You can get pad thai and various other soups, noodles and curries, along with fried rice, egg rolls, crab rangoon and chicken wings. It's got a little something for everyone. Do they charge you $0.25 for extra soy sauce? Can you call up and try to harangue them into giving you a free order of crab rangoon by claiming that they shorted you the last time you were there, knowing good and well they can count better than you? I'm not sure. I might try that on my next visit and report back. This time, I went with something called Pad See Ew, which wasn't nearly as gross as its name suggests. In fact, it was good. Its description on the menu, with broccoli, eggs and soy sauce, called to mind various things I might order from a Chinese takeout--which is what I tend to look for in a menu item. As a noodle dish, I figured the overall flavor profile might not be different from a lo mein lunch special I used to get decades ago, that I still fondly reminisce about on a weekly basis. I wasn't that far off from the mark. They let you choose the spice level, ranging from mild to hot. I usually get hot in most places, but I'm hesitant to do that at Asian restaurants, because they might have access to peppers that are technically considered research chemicals, like Temu Ozempic, and therefore not subject to FDA approval. There were a few girls there, and I didn't want to run the risk of my throat starting to close up. I'd have to find a new run group. Medium turned out to be just right for me, but maybe too spicy if you're expecting something along the lines of a buffalo wing. Even the mild, apparently, has a bit of a kick to it. The noodles were nice and slippery and cooked a touch beyond al dente, right in that Goldilocks zone between undercooked and mush. The heat, and the complexity provided by whatever they use to season this, helped offset the underlying sweetness. You get your choice of meat. No Diddy. I went with pork, natch, with apologies to the Honorable Minister. The amount they give you is surprisingly generous, except that this dish will run you. I'm talking modern-day Chipotle prices. Maybe a dollar or two more. Yikes! But I'd argue that the quality justifies it. If I lived nearby, and I had the means, I'd stop by on occasion.

It is a Trojan horse for one of the best burgers in St. Louis (my wife says I'm being dramatic for calling it THE best; I say I am not NOT going back for another). We enjoyed everything we order: the pork belly burnt ends and cashew chicken wings, and a coffee & cardamom old fashioned that sounds like a personality disorder but tastes like a vibe, smoky, a touch sweet, and very drinkable year-round. The Sam Elliott burger, BBQ sauce, bacon, crunchy onions, brioche, is named for a man who has never disappointed anyone, and neither does the sandwich. And the meatloaf is NOT your grandma's brick: tender, charred at the edges, laid over silky mashed potatoes with broccolini, perhaps closer to a chop steak than a loaf in the best possible way. Vibe is farm-chic: old church pews, repurposed interior doors, a proper bar up front, plus a patio and rooftop for when the weather cooperates. Fun fact -- it's named after the blue duck Billy Madison paints in elementary school, which is a fantastic piece of trivia and tells you absolutely nothing accurate about the actual restaurant. 4.7 Stars. Picking Nits: the counter-order setup is efficient, but it sets expectations in the wrong direction for the first 90 seconds, you brace for fast-casual and instead get something considerably more ambitious. Food comes out fast once you've ordered, which is great if you're hungry and slightly jarring if you wanted a slow, lingering dinner. And the Billy Madison naming is charming trivia but entirely misleading as a vibe preview, no complaints about the actual restaurant, just the branding expectations it sets. If The Blue Duck were a character: Ron Swanson. Hear me out. If Ron ate here, he'd be suspicious of the entire experience until his first bite of protein -- the counter ordering, the repurposed doors, a burger named after a fellow mustachioed American, all of it registering as potentially too clever. Then the Sam Elliott hits his plate, he takes one bite, and the skepticism dissolves into the quiet respect of a man who has found his people. Looks rustic. Has strong feelings about meat. Secretly sophisticated -- plays saxophone in a jazz club under a fake name, builds his own furniture, would 100% approve of the farm-chic decor once the protein has spoken. Presents as simple. Isn't.
