Ordered two chicken teriyaki plates to go.Same thing that I usually get. I never thought the teriyaki chicken was bad just good enough for quick meal. Last night both teriyaki plates had chicken that like chewing on beef Jerky. There was no teriyaki sauce on the chicken. It also tasted unusually salty. Salad was mediocre compared to past meals. The only thing that tasted good was the plain white rice. Pretty hard to screw that up. Called the restaurant back and complained. The employee hung up on me! Called back and got the owner/manager. She apologized and offered to replace the meals if I come back to the restaurant. Told her I had no interest in driving back to the restaurant. Told her I won't be back. I was impressed by the speed of food preparation, from sitting down to having our meal in less than 10 mins. I wish all restaurants can be as speedy as this one! The Soup was very hot (temperature), a plus, and flavorful, but downhill from there. The seafood soup had a few shrimp and then lots of fish balls, whose primary ingredient is not fish. They judge the people and the service varies accordingly. The don't offer things required to eat food equally to all guests. The server didn't even came to take our order until we called her. And didn't even apologize because she skipped us. Just bcuz we were hungry we had the food, we didn't have another option. Food taste great and delicious. But not good service at all. New Saigon offers Vietnamese food for a reasonable price and a minimal wait. FOOD: The bahn mi, vermicelli bowl, and Thai tea were standard. It is reliable, satisfying and affordable. While it's not something you'll necessarily remember, a massive fountain drink was like $2. Com'mon now! VENUE: Pretty, recently remodeled. Lots of tables, both indoors and out front. There's free street parking and you can glimpse the water if you have a stroll afterwards. Many TVs and a nice-looking bar. My wife and I have been a fan of finding places that take pride in the Pho broth, after all it is what will make or break a hot bowl of Pho, right? This place has it down beautifully, we really haven't tried much else on their menu since we found that they have such amazing Pho. Our children love eating their steamed pot stickers and they are delicious. Our children have grown to enjoy their pho so we order them small bowls of pho broth with noodles and they love it! We have met the owner who is friendly and have shared a few short and warm conversations with, the rest of the staff are very friendly as well. I had a few reviews about the staff not all speaking English well and let's face it, English isn't an easy language to speak and besides that I feel it adds an air authenticity to the already clean, zen atmosphere of the restaurant. Since we first came to this place we have made an effort to go there and over time we have become weekly regulars since it is so refreshing to us to enjoy some hot Pho at the end of a week, even with us living in the Chimacum/Discovery Bay area. I would add what the number of the menu item is in this review but I don't remember because when we show up they ask if we are getting our usual order and we just answer yes and then it shows up. I do know it is the rare beef with all the sides that come with it. A side note is that I also appreciate their Vietnamese coffee to go with my Pho. So if you're in the mood for some delicious Pho out here on the Peninsula this place gets my vote on delicious Pho broth and the meat and noodles that come with it. Since my wife and I with our family have done quite a bit of traveling this place has outstanding Pho broth compared to other places we visited up and down the west side of the US. Stopped by this pho shop while visiting the Olympic national park. The restaurant is really large and has a lot of tables and space so we were able to get a table fairly quick during the lunch rush. For the main I had the regular size beef pho, which was very very well made and quite filling , I definitely would not have been able to finish the larger size. To drink I had the mango bubble drink with tapioca pearls. The mango flavor felt a little fake and made of syrup (vs natural fruits ) but it was nonetheless refreshing and fun to drink. Another outside place for us since we are with dog. It's more away from the water so not so much wind. It was also pretty clean. I say this because there are some outside restaurant patios that have been completely neglected with trash and bird poop. Inside is nice and basically you are outside when you are inside which helps keep the restaurant air fresh. It was not cold inside either. We each ordered a rice vermicelli bowl with egg roll. He got the pork and I did not. We both liked it enough though the sauce could have been a bit stronger. We were still hungry so we ordered our appetizers after the fact. I would give this place zero stars if I could... this is a family run establishment, and the only good thing they have going for them is their son. We ordered our pho and while yes we asked for "substitution" and by "substitution" I mean we asked for a bowl of pho with two different meats in it.... It's not rocket science here. Its a bowl of pho, scooped with pre made broth. A ball of rice noodles. And TWO TYPES OF MEAT. So our pho comes out. Only has one meat in it. We ask where the second is and if we can get it on the side. The cooks (mom and grandma) proceed to talk shit about us in Vietnamese in the kitchen (FYI although I'm sure you guys know. Your kitchen isn't sound proof. WE CAN HEAR YOU). So they're talking about how difficult we are and how they rather us just leave.... Uh you barely have any one in your store but you want us to leave? Okay? Sure? After awhile we begrudgingly get the second meat.... Which I guess we were better off with one cause they both were terrible. The tripe was soft and smushy and the beef tasted like rubber. Actual rubber. The broth tasted like it came out if a can. And the noodles were all clumped together, frozen perhaps? Who even knows. So while we're eating probably the worst pho I've ever had.... Ever. The mom and grandma continue to talk shit about us. THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. Talk about a terrible experience. And the kicker? We go to pay the bill.... They charged us $6 extra for that tripe!!! The one they forgot. And the one that was a substitution for a meat that we didn't want. So somehow a $11 and $12 bowl of pho that comes with two meats each, and we got two meats each (one was replaced yes, our bad for asking for a different meat. Oh no) cost us $32.... $32 for the worst pho we've ever had. You can 100% say we will never ever ever be coming back. Avoid this place if you want a decent meal. And not be talked poorly about. After tax it came to $174.35. On the receipt i signed $174.35 as-is and said "tip included". But my credit card was charges $200.35. That's another $26. More than just Pho! Full Vietnamese lunch/dinner menu, bubble tea stop and a full bar are all in here. Cute clean updated space on the main drag. Choose from booths, tables or bar stool seating. On a warm day there are a few outdoor spots as well. This is our new go to lunch stop for Pho in PA but we have successfully tried other tasty menu items as well. The Vermicelli bowl with pork was tasty, I loved the vinegar based sauce that it comes with and portions were appropriate as I finished it all. Pho comes in Large or small and small is fine for me. Their Pot stickers and other appetizers have been solid and made fresh to order as well. Yes, dining during a pandemic is challenging and while many places are short handed, so it can create waits, good thing is pho is pretty quickly served so never been an issue for us. Funny they set table with forks and we had to ask for chopsticks the first time here. PA is growing but still a small town vibe with not enough Asian restaurants, lol. Highly recommend if you travel to this area and like Asian food. Food was great, price was lovely (WINE SO CHEAP!!) , staff was friendly, and it opened late! Actually we dined there 2 nights in a row when we stayed in Port Angeles / Seqium area. We were visiting Olympic National Park and almost all other restaurants were closed after 8pm during week days. And we didn't want to have unhealthy fries again after a hiking day. The food at this place was amazing, the ingredients were so fresh and kitchen could adjust for less sugar and less oil versions. I thought my two (Viet) friends were crazy for wanting to eat Vietnamese food out in Port Angeles. Don't you guys get amazing food at home? Wouldn't this be a complete let down? To my surprise, the food was alright! Maybe we were starving after a long day of driving and hiking. I got mixed pho and the soup was light, warm, and flavorful enough. They very much skimped on the veggies and meat though (one tiny tiny piece of tendon?!). It's a tourist town and inflation got prices of meat up but tendon is typically pretty cheap. Anyways, all in all not so bad. Kind of pricey for what you get but Port Angeles is the closest town to Olympic National Park so it's expected. read more

Well, you have to go to Pho New Saigon. We both ordered pho and split an order of egg rolls. The pho broth was not the best I have ever had, but it was definitely not the worst. Solid flavor with a good portion of noodles and meat. Of course, they had the basil, lime, jalepeno, and bean sprout sides. Service was ok. It was kind of confused. I ordered a beer, and the server brought over a can and set it on the table. I asked for a glass, and he got one right away. But come on, it's a craft beer, you drink it out of a glass. Pho here is surprisingly good! The broth is super tasty and quantity is pretty decent. This was the large bowl and it's filling if you're hungry. The vermicelli bowl was a bit average/meh but the sauce was tasty so I ate it up. It could use a bit more of fresh meat and veggies. I very rarely bother with reviews but if you have food allergies beware of this place. I saw a couple positive reviews from folks with gluten intolerance but when I went today they completely fell short. We ordered the fresh roll, which we were told was gluten free and they proceeded to put it down with a gluten containing sauce and no mention of warning. Fortunately I asked before eating it. We then ordered my partner's dish and my gluten free vermicelli bowl, again, I asked at every step of the way to make sure the order was gluten free. When it came out I asked specifically, "what is this chicken marinated in?", a moment later the waiter came back and asked if I wanted another dish since that one contained gluten. I ultimately got the pho, which was good and gluten free and proceeded to pay full price for this dinner (yes, I expect my bill to be reduced after you nearly poison me). A little irritated that they don't provide chopsticks and you have to flag a waiter for them on a very busy visit but still ignore you. Have you ever tried eating vermicelli bowl or pho using forks? Food is okay but not the greatest Vietnamese. The lemon grass chicken rice dish is on a sweet side.
