Came here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. There were a couple of other tables seated, and there were plenty of tables to choose from. I got the P5 with tendon, medium size. The flavor of the broth was good, it wasn't as clear as most other pho I've had. I probably should have gotten the large, as I was able to finish everything, including all of the broth. For the price, I would generally expect a bigger serving. But the quality and flavor was there. Just a little more expensive than what I'm used to for pho. read more

Simple lowkey spot, I've driven past this place for years and didn't know it was there. Walk in and find a spot to sit, theres plenty of seating, simple decor, nothing fancy but clean and neat. Everything is fresh and full of flavor, delicious egg rolls, I would say the Pho is the best I've had in Lincoln, I feel like there's more that goes into their broth over others, lots more flavor and richer taste. I've stopped here twice on two different cross country excursions, and I've never been disappointed. As a California-native, it's hard to find a good bowl of pho, but both times I have liked my order. I was back to Pho Nguyenn for the first time in 10 years with a lot of bowls of pho in between. This place is a gem in Lincoln.

We got take out from this unsuspecting pho restaurant on Memorial Day as we had no plans. I'm pregnant and extremely sick constantly, but soup is usually safe for me and Pho sounded perfect. Understandably, there was nobody there when we picked it up as it was a holiday. The food was ready quickly, and the inside was clean, and they were very friendly! We are pretty picky about our pho, we know it can be regional but some places just miss the mark for our tastebuds, but my only hope is to keep food down these days. I was pleasantly surprised (given how tucked away they are at their location) how delicious it was! Everything you want in a pho, I can't have sprouts, so I shredded some cabbage and tossed it in and it still gave a nice crunch and I kept it down. Everything tasted fresh and was delicious. Don't let the location fool you- give this place a try! Easily top 5 pho we've had over the last 7-8 years. read more

It reminds me of all the Southeast Asian family businesses started by refugees that came here after the Vietnam War. It's exactly what makes the US a special place. It's Martin Luther King Jr. Day and my usual Vietnamese restaurant is closed. However, my determination to enjoy a hot bowl of Pho has not wavered. I found this restaurant on Google and the reviews made it seem promising. When I walk in, it's the stereotypical Vietnamese restaurant that you would expect, nothing fancy. The Pho broth itself was pretty good, but that's where it pretty much ended for me. None of the ingredients were fresh. Beginning with the bean sprouts, basil, or meat. To top things off, I noticed that the red sriracha sauce looked a little different. When I opened it up and put a little bit on my plate it tasted completely off which is when I realized that they were either purchasing a cheaper sauce and placing it into these bottles. Or they were making it themselves and putting it into the famous sriracha bottles. I asked the waiter and he said they purchased it. I told him it isn't the real sauce though. He laughed and then admitted it isn't the actual sauce. Which as a business owner myself I know that this could lead to a pretty hefty lawsuit should the sriracha company find out. But I'm not here to get anyone in trouble. I'm just here to offer a little bit of guidance. Imagine buying a corvette then realizing it had a Kia motor? When it comes to enjoying a bowl of pho, all in all, from a scale of 1-10 I would probably rate this place a 4. Meaning that this place is probably just below average in my book. A 10 would be the best pho you've ever eaten and a 1 would be the worst. Will I be back? No! read more

Every time my friends and I visit our friend, we are always craving pho and always choose to go to this place. Walking in, it looks like the usual Vietnamese restaurant and the broth smell hits your nose right away. I got pho tai with the raw meat on the side. I like adding it once we get our bowls cause I always get excited seeing the meat cook before I eat. Their broth is very delicious and flavorful. I always judge my pho based on how well the broth tastes. My friends got pho as well and another got bun bo hue. This pho place also accommodates to our requests of getting little bowls of pho broth with an egg. It makes the broth taste a little sweeter and something some Asian families do. All the workers are dedicated and hard workers. They don't keep you waiting too long. They do require at least $15 to pay with a credit card. Also like most pho places, you'll go to the register up front to pay whenever you are ready to leave. My friends and I always make this one of our food stops when in Lincoln. You are always left satisfied and happy with their food quality and service. read more

#1 Vietnamese place in Lincoln for Pho as compared to #2 Vung Tau and #3 Green Papaya. {Vietnamese Noodle Soup - Pho} Broth tasted like it's been simmering overnight giving way to a complex, developed flavor. Just enough sweet, just enough salt, just enough love. Who knows how much MSG is in it, but who cares when it's good. You have an option of a small, medium, or large bowl. On regular days I can kill a medium and possibly finish a large if I don't order bubble tea. The ratio of broth:noodle:meat is just right. Although the side herbs were a bit wilted. {Vermicelli Noodles w/Grilled Pork & Egg Rolls} YUM YUM YUM! I repeatedly come back for this dish. It is layered with fresh bean sprouts, julienned lettuce, cucumbers, and carrots. Then they add the vermicelli noodles and top with a nice helping of grilled pork and egg roll. Finish off with few big spoonfuls of fish sauce, some peanuts, and you've got yourself a refreshing well balance meal. What I really like about this dish is the way everything is sliced. It allows for each chopstick grab to include each ingredient, so each mouthful contains noodle, beef, egg roll, vegetables, and peanuts...or maybe.... I just have a big mouth :D {Bubble Tea/Smoothie/Shake} I always order the Durian flavored smoothie. They don't use powder like some other places, they actually use the real fruit! MMMMmmmmm GOOD! Some of the best pho in town! I got the medium #4, pho with ribeye steak and tenderloin, which cost like $7.55. Put some plum sauce and a tiny bit of sriracha in there and it's perfect. Their egg rolls are absolutely delicious, especially with plum sauce or fish sauce. If you look at the drink menu, you'll see #10 which says something like "grass coconut drink" or something. Sounds weird, but trust me, it's awesome. It's just like boba tea but with ice. It's a real casual place but it's so good. Definitely put it up there with Vung Tau. read more

3 of us for lunch today. 3 versions of Pho ordered: chicken broth, beef broth and vegetarian. The restaurant is in an older strip mall with an oriental market that is an adventure in itself. The restaurant was sparkling clean and about half full at lunch time. I had the beef broth with sliced beef and meatballs. As an appetizer we ordered the summer rolls with tofu. I'm not a fan of tofu, so it's not right for me to adequately review a tofu roll. It was OK, but it had tofu in it. My lunch guests are regulars here. The owner/waiter asked my friend if he wanted the usual... chicken broth, chicken and tofu. Our meals arrived in a timely fashion. In a typical manner the broth noodles and meat were smoking hot and a large plate of fresh vegetables to go with it. Mix in the mint sprigs, bean sprouts, jalapeños and lime. Give it a few minutes and we're eating. The only negative was the broth, I expect the broth to be good honest bone broth with all of its nuances. This broth is more similar to a consume. All in all, We all enjoyed our meals and had great time. read more

Pho is good anytime of the year, especially Lincoln's cold winter! A nice hot bowl of pho (beef soup noodles) is very satisfying. I don't order much of anything else except the flank and brisket pho and the occasional pearl milk tea. The quality of meat is very tender and finely sliced, which almost melts when you eat it. I am never disappointed when I go to Pho Nguyen and the food comes out within 5-10 minutes. The food is fresh and full of flavor and I would recommend this to anyone who is open to trying new foods! Love their Pho. The soup is clear and mild, meats are not smelly and gross looking. If I want to eat Bun (noodles without the soup), I go somewhere else because I am not fond of Pho Nguyenn's BBQ flavor. The staff are friendly and the place is relatively clean. A good serving of Pho reminds me of being back in Southern California where the Pho restaurants are plentiful and the soup is served up nice and fresh! Since Lincoln is a big college town I figured there had to be a decent Pho place and after a quick Yelp search I discovered Pho Nguyen. I ordered the #6 and Spring Rolls to go. The #6 included two types of beef (no tendons or other weirdness). The soup and fixings were packaged well and the hot soup was placed away from the spring rolls. That's a good thing because you don't want hot spring rolls when you get "back to da hotel." I give Pho Nguyen a "Yay! I'm a fan" rating. The service was friendly and quick and the food was good. Also, there were kids hanging out and backpacks on the floor, which are things I look for in any good family owned Pho establishment! read more

We ate here today, and it did not disappoint. My brother from Iowa was in town and loves some good Asian-style food, so instead of our usual, China Inn on N. 27th Street, we ventured to Pho Nguyen. Excellent choice--great service, very timely presentation of appetizer and main dishes, even the dish we took "to go" was perfectly put together just as we were ready to leave. I had the beef noodle soup--scrumptious and brother had one of the rice dishes with beef and egg rolls. The spring rolls are amazing and beautifully put together. All delicious and we will certainly return as it's nearly within walking distance of our neighborhood. The decor is simple, clean and appealing and was easy to park if driving to this location. I really don't like this place. Compared to the other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, this place is pretty crappy. I had the Com Thit Nuong and a Honey Dew Bubble Tea. The rice was very soggy and the meat was too fatty to eat. There wasn't enough fish sauce to cover my plate. Also, my bubble tea tapioca pearls were not cooked through. It was very hard in the middle, and gross. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because the service was halfway decent. read more
