This whole in the wall hidden gem knows how to serve pho, the right way. Thanks to tiktok for helping me discover this place. I ordered the rice plate, number 25 with porkchops, rice and veggies. A very solid bowl of Pho! I would describe the Pho as herby on the rich beefy side! The broth is a nice balance if you like sweeter Pho. Wow! This place is great! It does not have a separate gf menu but the staff was knowledgeable and the chef also came out to talk to me. There are some things that are not safe but plenty of options that are. I had the #7. It was pho with round eye beef and it was so flavorful and delicious. I have never had pho before but now I'm hooked! They also have gf spring rolls that are amazing. The peanut sauce is not safe but the fish sauce is and was amazing. I even added the leftover sauce to my pho and it added just enough spice to the broth to make it even more tasty. Bun Bo Hue -This has been the best Bun Bo Hue in the Midwest. The savory pork/beef broth combined with the various cuts of beef, pork feet and blood cubes made the dish great. Love this place, located just off the main road you could drive by and miss it. Very limited parking out front but plenty of parking behind the block so will need to walk around. Little older building but extremely clean inside, super friendly staff they welcome you and seat you right away to take your order. The Pho is probably the best I've had, the broth seems to have a lot more flavor than others, meat is very fresh and all the veggies are clean and crisp. Again, a third great stop for Pho in Lincoln. Lincoln is 3/3 on my pho tour, while Omaha is still at a sad 0/3. Therefore, while visiting family in Lincoln, we are always sure to make a stop at one of the great pho establishments they have there. I am aware Lincoln has a larger Vietnamese population than Omaha does so it is not surprising that they have better pho too. Vung Tau's broth is clear and oil free. The aroma is healing in itself, that is, if you have any sort of ailment (a cold, a hangover, etc). I did think it had a bit of a sweet taste which was not bad, just a slightly different style than I am used to. What really impressed me was the meat in my combo bowl. There was not any extra meat or anything, but the cuts and cooked-ness (is that is word?) of the various meats in my bowl were wonderful. Thinly sliced and the texture was awesome I could tell they were slow cooked and cut with care. My bowl had brisket, flank, tendon, 2 kinds of tripe, and meatballs with tendon. Many times establishments can over or under cook (read: too chewy) tendon and tripe. This is a family run establishment and I would recommend them for your next pho craving. read more
