I think I just found my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant!! Walked in and it was already packed! But they were quick at getting tables cleaned and ready. Probably waited 5 mins max so I was very impressed. I noticed the lights have the Vietnamese hat on it. Very creative. Menu had a lot of great options but I decided to try the bun dac biet (vermicelli noodle bowl). Let me tell you they did not disappoint!! Portion size of meat, noodles, and veggies were great. They prepared everything in a timely manner too. The servers were very attentive and kind. Also, when at a Vietnamese restaurant ca phe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) is always a must. I liked how they prepared everything for me in a to-go cup since I'm a slow sipper. Overall, really enjoyed my experience here. Will definitely be coming back to try their pho next. read more

I will start this review by saying that the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and I would still recommend giving this place a chance if you're from out of town or just craving some Viet food. My meal was just average, however. I ordered the #27 (Com Suon Dac Biet- Pork Rice Plate) and found the meat a little tough. I was also told that they were out of the egg loaf, but I just think they didn't make any. Perhaps the majority of the customers usually stick with pho, but I was a bit disappointed. I also ordered spring rolls but it didn't come out until I was near the end of my meal and found them weirdly a little hard. Not sure if it was just fried too long or what. read more

We made another visit for lunch. But things have changed. We both ordered Dac Biet. I had the egg noodle and my wife had the glass noodle We both first noticed the broth seemed plain, not as enjoyable as in the past. It lacked the depth of flavor. The second thing we both noticed was that all of the proteins had been cut in half. Literally as in the shrimp had been sliced into 2 pieces. The balls all cut in thirds. Food was amazing! Tried out the bun bo hue(had to get the XL bowl) and the bun thit nướng chả giò. The bún bò huế was honestly one of the best ones I've had in the Midwest region so far. They also did not skimp out on the noodles and meats, so it was definitely the best bang for your buck. The vegetables that come with it were fresh(bean sprouts and Thai basil). My only complaint is that they did provide any cabbage/banana blossoms. The bun thit nướng chả giò was also very good and they loaded up the bowl as well. Also got the chance to try out the Vietnamese coffee and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent. Our server was very kind and the food came out pretty quick. Although it was busy during the time we went(lunch hour rush), the wait wasn't too long at all for a table. The ambiance of the restaurant is old-fashioned and welcoming. Update review. Best banh mi ever. I just ordered my hubby to order me a banh mi because he happened to have a lunch meeting there. Delicious banh mi. Enough meat,pickled veg, and fresh vegetables And the provided soy sauce in case. It was great and i didnt need to add extra soy. The baguette was crispy on fhe outside and soft on the inside. Service and ambiance obviously is as good as before Because i added the request for banh mi later. They even took the coffee they had already made for me and put it back in the fridge! This whole in the wall hidden gem knows how to serve pho, the right way. Thanks to tiktok for helping me discover this place. I ordered the rice plate, number 25 with porkchops, rice and veggies. My husband ordered the number 33, pho with grilled chicken. Both dishes were so tasty and fulfilled our craving. I love their sauces. It added so much flavor to our meals. I'm happy to report that there were no left overs after. I can't really comment on the ambiance because my husband picked up our order to-go. A very solid bowl of Pho! I would describe the Pho as herby on the rich beefy side! The broth is a nice balance if you like sweeter Pho. My favorite part about the soup was the thinly sliced meat, which made it easier to chew. The selection of meat was solid and quality! The eggrolls is a nice starter as well! I enjoyed those! I tried Vung Tao for the first time today. I ordered egg rolls, spring rolls, and the pho with grilled pork. The egg rolls were crispy and delicious. The spring rolls were good as well. Both appetizers came with a lot of sauce, which I loved. The star of the show was the Pho with grilled pork. The broth and the grilled pork were absolutely incredible. Wow! This place is great! It does not have a separate gf menu but the staff was knowledgeable and the chef also came out to talk to me. There are some things that are not safe but plenty of options that are. I had the #7. It was pho with round eye beef and it was so flavorful and delicious. I have never had pho before but now I'm hooked! They also have gf spring rolls that are amazing. The peanut sauce is not safe but the fish sauce is and was amazing. I even added the leftover sauce to my pho and it added just enough spice to the broth to make it even more tasty. I am pretty sensitive and I am not having any reaction so I would say this is a pretty good bet and we will be back! read more

Bun Bo Hue -This has been the best Bun Bo Hue in the Midwest. The savory pork/beef broth combined with the various cuts of beef, pork feet and blood cubes made the dish great. Love this place, located just off the main road you could drive by and miss it. Very limited parking out front but plenty of parking behind the block so will need to walk around. Little older building but extremely clean inside, super friendly staff they welcome you and seat you right away to take your order. The Pho is probably the best I've had, the broth seems to have a lot more flavor than others, meat is very fresh and all the veggies are clean and crisp. I went for spring rolls, bahn mi pork sandwhich, a bowl of Pho, and a bubble tea. The spring rolls had a light layer of pork rolled inside which was different for me, but I thought it was OK (the peanut sauce is delicious!). The Pho had a slight sweetness to the broth, but was incredibly flavorful. My favorite was the bahn mi, but that is usually true for me...the grilled pork was cooked to perfection. Bubble tea was blended, which was good, but it would have been nice to be able to order blended or non-blended. It wasn't the best bubble tea I ever had, but it definitely did the job. The peanut sauce that came with the awkwardly sized spring rolls was served warm and had a strange tang to it. Not at all peanutty except for the crushed peanuts on top. I prefer a cold sauce. The way the spring rolls were wrapped - long, thin tube - made me feel like I was smoking a cigar. They were good though. I liked the pho and as other reviewers said, there is a slight sweetness to the broth. I didn't mind though. Dang!!! Since I moved out of the San Francisco Bay Area, it was hard finding a real good pho place. Went to Lincoln, Nebraska for my kids speed skating nationals. I thought this was the same place that I ate at last year. The place was different - actually the pho place is further down the street. So my family and friends decided to eat here just to make comparisons. Glad we did. The broth was amazing. My friend tried the beef stew the broth was amazing as well.
