Awful takeout from pho 14 - what happened? Used to eat here twice a week !
    Jennifer B.

Returned again to see if anything had changed. Ordered pho and it arrived bland and no basil. They then decide to tell me they're out of basil .. a lite late. That's 3 times in a row I had bland food and the server didn't seem to care at all. Disappointed. Really loved this place a year or more ago it's totally changed. Would love to hear if they changed owners or something . Another update - if anyone cares - I know there are a lot of PHO fans in Lincoln. things seem to be much better now at Pho14 and I am so glad. I have been a major supporter since they opened and was very dissatisfied for many month with no explanation.. all though I never did find out what changed for those bad months I am glad to say things have much improved. I have been back to going once a week and the flavors and Ingredients are back to what I had first come to expect when they originally opened .

    Oh so good.

Got my Pho On! When you get inside the yum-alicious smell lets you know you are in for a treat. Nice, friendly, clean place with mood music you can talk over. Minimal decor, comfy table & chairs, that encourage staying a while. We got the lunch Pho with steak, + egg rolls. It came right away. Fresh traditional soup condiments, large bowl of clear soup with plenty of noodles and meat. Not fatty, but with enough natural juices for great broth. Egg rolls followed within first bite. Husband ordered hot tea, which turned out to be jasmine. All were delicious! We were attended with a smile and just the right amount of refills and inquires. Our lunch ended up being $22 (b/f tip). We took home leftover soup and egg rolls for evening meal, which made our lunch very economical. This is great place to enjoy Pho.

Love the food here, especially the Phnom Penh noodle and fried flour cake are pretty decent!

    hair,more like armpit hair. Disgusting!!!

The place's service isn't good. The thing that was most disappointing was the attitude. we ordered 4 bowls large size. One of pho has hair. The server guy just stopped by in the meanwhile , I showed him hair he said sorry and left. Since then,We would rather go to the pho places on N 27th instead. But,today my friend got rolls from them, and again, hair. Last time, We were thinking it might've been an accident, but seeing that another hair has found its way into our food, we are sure this is just their poor personal hygiene.

    Cool artwork.

This place was great and a very reasonable lunch spot. It had been a very long time since I had pho, and this place looked amazing on here. I went with my California friend, who instantly opted for the Vietnamese pancake, which is apparently a staple. I sampled hers. It was unique and different, and she had no complaints. Pork, shrimp wrapped in the pancake wrap with lettuce and veggies. I, however, came for PHO! I opted for the house special pho--with beef, meatballs, and tripe. I mostly got the tripe for the flavoring, chunks of it are very difficult to chew, but I think it adds something to the dish. The beef was plentiful, not stingy at all. $6.99 for a ginormous bowl of pho, with side veggies cannot be beat. My broth was intermingled with some green and yellow onions for more flavor, along with the rice noodles. They kept raw cilantro, mint leaves, jalapeño, and fresh sprouts on the side to garnish at your leisure. Lovely. The table was flourished with a plethora of spices-samba, hoisin, fish sauce, pepper, siracha-a flavor for everyone's taste bud. I was able to appropriately spice my soup up without asking the waiter for anything. The waiter came and checked to make sure we were both satisfied with the dishes, and offered us refill sodas without requesting them. Great service. Nice, clean place. I will definitely be back to sample more items off the menu, probably with the same friend. Try PHO14!

Came for lunch and ordered a house special beef noodle soup (pho dac biet?) and ice coffee. The pho broth is light and flavorful. And the ice coffee strikes a good balance of strong coffee flavor and the sweet condensed milk. Great lunch spot, would definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Spring rolls. I asked and they gave me a half order. They are really large and very fresh and tasty.

Enjoyed eating here and so glad to find a Pho place on this side of town! Waitstaff was super friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Music was soft and relaxing not distracting at all. Recommend that you give it a try. It is a bit hard to see its sign from 14th street.

I've been here several times. I highly recommend to stick with pho tho. i've tired some of the rice and vermicelli noodles and it was always a disappointment. Pho has pretty good flavors tho! sometimes kinda bland....

    Seafood rice noodles! So tasty.

The food is amazing. Fresh, flavorful, light and filling. Come here for pho, for noodles, delicious tamarind wings. It's all great!

The noodles themselves are good and clearly fresh. $8.00 for a regular portion and $11 for a large serving. The protein add-ons, which had a $3 up-charge, were unfortunately lacking. My husband received three bites of sausage. I ordered the salmon for my protein. There was less than two tablespoons of smoked salmon. My Mom got chicken, which comprised three bite sized pieces. It felt like they were running out of food. The sauces were just okay from a flavor perspective. I had a vegetarian tomato which honestly could have used more salt, garlic, basil and oregano. My husband said his beef sauce was also lacking in flavor. All of the tables were full of customers. And even though the space is small, it would have accommodated a few more tables, which would have immediately benefited the restaurant. While we were there we overheard the waitress explain the wait time and transition some customers to "to go orders." The waitress kept our drinks re-filled and comped us two creme brûlée's for the table (it was my husbands birthday). But my father-in-law was disappointed they were out of the lemon tart as well as the chocolate mousse, both of which we're still listed on the dessert board. Sad face. We were told they would get their dessert order tomorrow. They were charging $6 for frozen desserts they were mostly out of- (not impressed). We suggest the management get a license to sell wine, as that would have been a nice addition to the meal. We support local businesses and we really want this business to succeed, but they need to fine tune their pricing/portion sizes, i.e. if the tiny amount of protein just came with the $8 or $11 pasta dish instead of being up charged I would have been more satisfied.

It's hard to bust heir chops in the first week of being open. This is definitely not a franchise. But a small local business starting up. It takes time to improve the establishment and perfect the choices. Was able to review the pre-opening menu. And the menu was changed islightly to add clarity. I spoke with the executive chef prior to opening He stated that all pasta and sauce is made fresh in-house every day. Cost - start with the $6 or $8 bowl of pasta, gluten free is available . Add protein (5 choices)for 2-3 dollars. A meal for one will run from $8-$12. A salad will set you back $8 They don't have Hours posted so i asked and posted it to yelp They opened March 13 or 14. I came in for Monday lunch with a Latino friend of mine. The pasta of the day is fettuccine or gluten free. Being home made, only one type of pasta is made daily. We ordered a large creamy bacon with Italian sausage and my friend the small portion of creamy four cheese Being new, I asked if they had a way of providing a small sample of each of the sauces and the waitress said they were already portioned out for large or small sizes. Asked for a sample of the Asian curry and the cook was quite vocal and annoyed about making a sample. It took almost 25 minutes from coming in to getting our food. Mind you, no one else was in the restaurant. Because of the flooding in Nebraska and the city of Lincoln's water reduction mandate. Our meal was provided with the finest in plastic ware and disposable cups. That will change when the water conservation order ends. There was a noticeable size difference between regular and large. I am surprised that they don't have a child's portion. The proteins, chicken and Italian sausage were properly cooked without any significant seasoning. We were surprised that we got a sample of the creamy curry sauce. Given the cooks hissy about making a sample. (Your new, everyone wants a way to try your different sauces, make a sampler plate) As there are more than 19 different types of curry. This one is more of a mild yellow curry. No heat, not too much twang but quite flavorful definitely worth trying The creamy bacon was a bit pasty, at the end there wasn't a single spoonful of sauce to be had. The bacon was subtle and not overpowering. Occasionally there would be a tiny chunk of bacon. The creamy four cheese pasta was a again not saucy, but pasty. The cheeses seemed to be overpowered by Parmesan and a bit salty. There were some very flavorful shavings of cheese. Towards the bottom, the cheese got denser and as the other order not a bit of sauce left. The garlic bread served with the meal. It was quite good but a bit overpowering over the subtle flavors of the pasta. If you only have a half hour lunch, this is not the place for you. If you want fine dining with a glass or two of wine with your meal, this is not for you. This is definitely not a franchise. But a small local business starting up. It takes time to improve the establishment and perfect the choices. Worth giving them a try. I'll be back in a few week

They dont have all drinks on the menu and the menu is not updated. They did tell us what was not available but was a generic dont have these and just slid his fingers on the menu. I finally got an iced lemon tea. We initially ordered egg rolls and a hot pot. We ordered spicy soup together with bok choy fungus( wood ear mushrooms) Beef, spam, fishballs and jumbo shrimp and egg noodles with a side of white rice. The soup came with a burner and it wasnt powerful enough to boil the soup on the pot. The pot had no definite style to it. Tasted like soy bean soup with some sichuan peppers. Not excessively spicy and not very flavourful. Our ingredients took a long while to come out- and our egg rolls eventually never came. Practically all the ingredients were frozen with the exception of the fungi and the egg noodles. The sauce station looks thrown together with takeout containers and plenty of sauce. The bbq sauce had part of a spoon which was broken off in the sauce. The sauces are similar to haidilao type just not as fresh. But the chives looked a little greyish. Overall, service is not fantastic. We did remind them multiple times about the egg rolls, but it still didn't ever arrive. They at least took it off the bill. We forgot to check about the missing bakchoy. Not sure we will be back anytime soon. Hubby wasn't quite happy with our dinner last night.

The dining room was nicely lit and spacious. The waiter came around and took our drink and food order. I had a diet Pepsi, it was completely flat, I had to ask for a can instead. We placed our order for egg rolls to start and hot pot. Spicy broth, beef, fishball, fungus, bokchoy, shrimp, egg noodle and a side of white rice. They quickly set up the gas burner for soup and perched the soup pot on top. Then came out the plate of meat and noodle and we were told they are out of bokchoy. EVERYTHING WAS FROZEN SOLID We waited awhile for the soup to boil (needed to properly cook seafood) but it never did. We tasted the soup. It was a little spicy but odd. Couldn't put my finger on it. Then adding all the frozen items even just some at a time the soup never boiled. We let it sit for a while to at least gain some heat before starting to eat. Waiter came. Asked again about rice and egg rolls. The rice came We managed to cook everything and eat. Had to flag down staff to ask for a check Egg rolls never came. But appeared on the bill as well as the bokchoy that I had to ask to be removed from the bill. I hate writing negative reviews but this was needed.
