We were in the area for an event and on our way out of town, noticed this place and stopped by. Without question this is one of the best pho restaurants that we have ever gone to. As is often the case, I was impressed by the staff who were working really hard and very attentive. The emphasis is on the food. The name of the restaurant caught my eye; I feel like most good pho places has a number on it so I needed to come try. Also a good sign when you see the same nationality locals coming through. The restaurant itself is very clean and kept well. I love how you can see the kitchen; looking at the process is half the fun. The food is good overall. The large bowl reminds me of Philly portions ( before Covid) so you definitely get your bang for your buck. The broth is a bit too "clean" in my opinion; I like my broth more meaty based but this one has more of the ginger and vegetables (personal preference); excellent still. Saw this place while we were having dinner next door, and decided to stop here for lunch the next day before going home. I noticed the special posted on the front entrance, which is duck noodle soup, and was extremely excited as I am a huge fan of duck. Unfortunately, the dish was just so-so, the soup itself was way too sweet, although the duck leg was flavorful. My favorite dish was the spicy Thai seafood noodle soup. The soup was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat. I would definitely come back and have it again. The grilled pork and shrimp over vermicelli was good, albeit the portion of meat was fairly small. Overall, I would rate two out the three dishes a three out of five, but the best dish is firmly in the five out of five category. Was surprised to find a Pho restaurant in Lancaster. Guess it is an up and coming culinary hot spot recently. The restaurant actually looks like it might have been a fast food restaurant before. Like burger King or something. So no frills. Just eat and go hehehe It was cold so we stopped in for a hot bowl of Pho. My mind was blown away with how flavorful the broth was! This was better than many places in NYC and NJ! And a small bowl was still huge compared to NY or NJ! I had the Round Eye and Tendons, I did wish there was more Tendons :) Hubby had the House Special Vermicelli which had Sugarcane Shrimp, Grilled Shrimp, Grilled Pork, Vietnamese Pork Patties and Egg Roll. Everything in the bowl was delicious. We loved it so much we took the family out. They've never had Vietnamese food even though this restaurant is in their backyards LOL. They were hesitant since they were unfamiliar so we were able to help guide them. We tried: Egg Rolls were thin but meaty. So good. Spring Rolls were bland, it needed a thicker peanut sauce that will stick to the rolls for flavor. Chicken Wings with fish sauce was a hit. It gave us the idea that we can buy fish sauce in an Asian market and marinate the wings and then air fry it at home for a different flavor. Everyone loved the Chicken Fried Rice. Even the pickiest eater! The 8yr old was hesitant but was willing to try everything, that was not spicy that is lol Grilled Pork Chops which was a hit with everyone even the picky kids hehehe Spicy Seafood Pho was good but it got us! Was excited to try another Vietnamese place in Lancaster but this restaurant was a disappointment. I tried the pork banh mi and the mango smoothie. The mango smoothie was decent and it used real fruit, I would get it again. The banh mi was not good, the bread was old which is one of the most important component of the banh mi, you need fresh bread! The marinated pork had some potential but was a bit salty but the whole sandwich was overpowered by how bad the bread was. The sandwich was so tiny and essentially Half a sub which was unexpected. Would not recommend the banh mi, might try the pho if I ever go back. Service was ok , please do not ask for tips if it's a PICK UP order , just one of my pet peeves. The restaurant was practically empty, on this Tuesday afternoon. I noticed a few tables with soup and slurping, going on. This sight, held some promise for me. A small bowl of P11 (Eye Round and flank steak), was huge - at least to me. Served alongside my soup, fresh basil, lime wedge, bean sprouts and sliced jalapenos. The pho's aroma, teased my nostrils and watered my tastebuds. I found the broth, heavenly, meaty, well-seasoned and enjoyed the crunch from my bean sprouts. Wondering if it was possible to have too many noodles. I know; how dare I think of such a thing! I am though, "thinking such a thing," because it's stealing away and soaking up the broth. One type of chosen meat, though tender, was extremely fatty. A pork skin spring roll, missed some vital components, as it was a tasteless, rubber textured wrap of scant pork and shoved-in, vermicelli. December 24, 2021 and everything is literally closed. We were lucky to find this Vietnamese restaurant still open in the area till 8pm. There is nothing more simple and beautiful than a hot piping bowl of Pho on a cold December evening. What was not beautiful was the service, to be honest the service was terrible, but what makes up for the service is the food. The waiter looked like the son or grandson of the restaurant owner. A very serious looking and tense kid like he was bluffing on a poker hand. The speed of getting our water and utensils to our tables can be summed up by two words, slow and stop. When we finally did place our order the food came out pretty quickly. Let me tell you something. The large pho was not only large, but so was the portions of protein. They loaded our bowls with generous delicious cuts of beef, not to mention pho as well. The broth was everything you would expect from a great pho restaurant a hearty and beefy broth. The pho and shrimp spring rolls were delicious and priced right. If you need to get your pho fix this is the place to go in Lancaster. Hopefully, they can get some hospitality service training done for that kid. In this way he can learn to earn more gratuities from a smile rather than a sneer. We have a vegetarian and a pescaterian in our group so we had to search to find a restaurant that would fit our desires. Pho is so close to perfect. The stir fried rice with added soy sauce was tasty, though if the tails on the shrimp had been removed it would have been easier to eat. The stir fried vegetables and noodles looked to be tHe dish of choice. That would be my next option! The LARGE bowl of soup was like a cauldron! There had to have been a quart of liquid in it! It was well loved by the person that ordered it. Our main problem with the meal was the fact that the soup was brought out about 10 minutes after everything else. We wondered if perchance the waitress didn't put the order in. Ordering an appetizer for that person woUld have been a smart idea. Each meal was $10 or less. Can't beat the price! The older Asian man with glasses (wish I caught his name) displayed the most egregious customer service to myself and my father. My father suffers from early stages of Dementia and wanted to order on his own. He made a few mistakes when ordering so I would help him. It seemed as though the man I am referring to was very impatient and rude. I noticed he continued to talk under his breath about how "weird and stupid" we are as he collected the plates or would walk past us. I wish I could have said to him that my dad suffers from this progressive disease and to please be kind. It truly broke my heart. Our intended destination for lunch today was Hong Kong which is located not far away. As luck would have it, Hong Kong was closed, so I stopped at Pho Pasteur with my sister who was unfamiliar with Vietnamese food. The restaurant is clean and pleasant although the women's restroom was in repulsive condition. My sister's fried rice with shrimp looked delicious but she yearned for a more robust, greasy flavor like one experiences with Chinese food. Our rice paper summer rolls with shrimp were light on flavor. I have experience better elsewhere. They would have been improved by a peanut sauce with a stronger, deeper taste such as I am accustomed to. My shrimp pho was out of this world. It was accompanied by the standard side dish of crispy vegetables which are meant to be added to the steaming broth as the final element. A huge bowl of pho loaded with vegetables and rice noodles was scrumptious and provided lots of leftovers. Portions and prices are very good at Pho Pasteur. The all-male waitstaff was efficient. I am a big fan of well prepared Vietnamese food and will definitely be returning. Newcomers to Vietnamese food should not expect a greasy, calorie-heavy dining experience like one finds at a Chinese restaurant. Food is delicious. If you're familiar with Vietnamese food, you'll know what to do with the vegetable plate that accompanies your Pho - if not, ask! The staff are happy to be asked. ASK if you don't know - sometimes a traditional dish on the menu may be better known to Vietnamese food fans, and not described in detail. Bun Rieu Crab Soup, for example: it's a traditional crab soup - with pork. I know this from experience; the person in the booth next to us had not expected this - The portions are substantial - the cold vermicelli salad with "sugar cane shrimp" paste and eggroll is huge, with plenty of veg besides the shrimp and noodles; so is the grilled shrimp and pork version. They have a very good vegetable version of Pho. Clean and unassuming and typical Pho house, enthusiastic staff, fast service and excellent value. read more

This place is a very new addition in Lancaster but I gather they have some other locations, perhaps in Harrisburg. It was great! We had Pho and some summer rolls. Both excellent. All the other food that came by looked fabulous. The veggies served with were super fresh and plentiful. The wait staff were attentive and helpful--I had my nephew along who'd never had Pho before but they were really nice helping him. They were busy but we didn't have to wait for a table or for our food. I have had Pho at the other Pho shops in Lancaster this is easily as good as all of them. The restaurant was also super clean. Their food is great. Probably the best in the Lancaster area for Vietnamese food. Their bun Bo hue can be a little bit salty but flavorful. Their portions are huge and they give you a lot of meats in pho, bun, rice vermicelli, etc. The only issue I have here is they're not really friendly. The younger hostess never looks happy and will have an attitude. She's been this way since the first time we came here even before we sat down so I'm not sure what her issue is. There's an older man with glasses who is very friendly and makes us feel welcomed. But from reading other reviews I see we're not the only ones who think they can be a little nicer. read more

The Mister and I were in the area for an event and afterwards built up an appetite for Vietnamese food. This restaurant was along the route on our way back home, so I did a quick search on Yelp and demanded him to take us there. Next thing you know, we were there. We were seated quickly and our waiter asked what we wanted. I wasn't even settled in my seat comfortably yet. He asked us on 4 occasions in like 2 minute intervals if we were ready to order, and I felt as though he did not give us enough time. I don't like the feeling of being rushed especially when it comes to decision making of meal choices. The Mister enjoyed his large pho and says it was better than the one by our house and the spot we normally go too in Philly. I enjoyed my Bun Bo Hue, it was flavorful and good portion of meat selections. At first glance, I thought they were being skimpy, but towards the end... I wasn't able to finish it. I would skip the egg rolls though, I didn't like them. However, if we stumble in Lancaster again, we will definitely repay a visit! read more

Having dined here three times, the pho has been on par every single time. It's located where the old Denny's used to be. The seating inside is identical. I really wish they would have improved the decor and changed the interior layout. I just feel a little odd eating pho instead of a Denny's Grand Slam breakfast. The pho bowls are large in size. Larger than the other pho establishments in the area. Much needed for Lancaster. It was a gripe of mine having pho all over the country and coming to Lancaster and the bowls were so small. They also give you the option for regular or large. Portions of rice noodles, meats, greens are also plentiful where the other locations may lack one or all the ingredients. Plenty of parking outside but the traffic in the area is horrendous and will even get worse when the other strip malls open. Make sure you give yourself ample time if you're meeting a friend for lunch or dinner. I've had friendly and speedy service the three times I've been here for dinner. Top-notch Vietnamese food in Lancaster. Was introduced to this restaurant by my boyfriend not too long after it first opened a few years ago, and as he is Vietnamese himself, of course I trusted his judgment! The pho dac biet is delicious with a warm, inviting cinnamon smell from the broth. As the broth is the star of the show, though you're more than welcome to add hoisin and sriracha to enhance the flavor, I believe that the dish is just as flavorful and amazing on its own. Branching out from one of the most popular Vietnamese dishes, I would also recommend the com or bun dac biet from there as well, with their fish sauce (nuoc mam) tying both of these meals together as you pour it over the rice/noodles. Add in a jackfruit, durian, or avocado smoothie and you're good to go! As far as the service goes, although indoor seating has been closed (and recently opened back up) because of the pandemic, when we have dined in, we've never had problems and have always been seated promptly. I think that Lancaster is lucky to get one of these pho restaurants, based on my experience last night. A patron who was leaving the place as I entered, told me it was really good. And I hadn't even asked her! This is their grand opening week and the place is clean and the service quick and friendly. Large booths with pretty glass sconces and windows all around make for a welcoming and bright atmosphere. I dined alone and was offered a big ol' corner booth just for me! This was at four PM so the place was just starting to get busy with the dinner crowd. I overheard another customer asking questions about the menu selections. The waitress offered her a sample of the basic pho. I think that is a great policy when you're educating the public about a cuisine they are not familiar with. I LOVED the Viet beef stew, my personal favorite, which was enough for two plus people. They gave me a take out container with the stew as requested. The accompanying plant toppings were really FRESH, which is often not the case with the sprouts. The veggie spring rolls were large and the peanut sauce nice. I enjoyed a cup of Viet coffee which was sweet and satisfying ...even if not as hot as I would like when first presented. That must be because they add the condensed milk. I plan to return with husband in tow and sample more of what the menu has to offer. I saw entrees at the other tables as I was leaving and they all looked great. This menu is not as extensive as most but I think that means they can focus on preparing the basics really well. If the quality matches this visit's, then I can see becoming a regular here. My only concern was that the chop sticks and soup spoons are in a dispenser on your table and they are not wrapped or covered. While this is more convenient, as a nurse, all I can imagine is all the germ covered hands potentially touching all those sticks and spoons as they take theirs out of the dispenser. With or without flu season on the way, hmmm. I realize it would take extra effort for staff to present a clean napkin-wrapped set along with the food but, it would offer concerned customers important peace of mind for sure.
