I really enjoyed this restaurant. The atmosphere is great. I really like the look and feel of the shop. I came kind of late at night so I sort of get it, but I did feel a little like they didn't want us there. I ordered the fried egg rolls, and their house special pho. The broth had a good flavor, the tripe was very clean with good flavor, and the steak was great. I'm not sure if I didn't get any rare steak in my bowl, or if it took too long to get to me and wasn't rare by the time I got it but I didn't see any rare steak. I also feel like the tendon didn't have enough time to soften up and was kind of hard. Overall I would definately recomend this restaurant, but I really love pho so I had a couple opinions that might just nit picking. Please do try this place for yourself. read more

I stopped in to Pho Ngoc and had a wonderful meal. The staff was wonderfully kind and fast. The other customers were other professional like people who were quiet and respectful to other guests. On the tv they were showing cooking demonstrations with Vietnamese chefs which I thought was so unique and fun to watch. This place was just ok for me. It was super clean. The menu had a ton of options. But like the other reviews, having to pay for water was weird for me. The broth was also just so so for me. The service wasn't very good. They guy behind the counter was more interested in his anime video than for what was going on. If there aren't any other options, I would come here again. York Countians love Asian food, so I am happy the we have many options available. Pho Ngoc equals flavor. Just beautiful, aromatic taste throughout each dish. The Pho broth is solid... not overly sweet a perfect vessel for the noodles, proteins, & veggies. A surprise gem for me was the side rice. This sticky rice is so moist with a slight crunch. I'd like to start by listing the few positive aspects experience, so as not to seem unwilling to be fair. First, the dining room was very clean and second the service was exceptionally quick. That is the end of the positive here. This place is wildly overpriced. We ordered 2 bowls of pho and a drink (a tea, which despite being fairly expensive all ice.). Total price: $45. This is scammy levels of price gouging. This should isn't been a $30 meal at an expensive pho spot. Then when they brought out the saddest, skimpiest plate of basil, sprouts, jalapeños and limes the waiter picked up the hoisin and added a big squirt into one of our bowls, unsolicited. "It's good" he said after. At some point I asked if they had vinegar onions (hanh dam) and fairly run of the mill pho side ace he looked at me like I had three heads and made it slide like such a think had never and could never exist. This place is bad. Real bad. Avoid it. read more

This was our first time trying this restaurant. You can order ahead, through door dash, or dine in (it is a sit down). We started with two of their tea drinks that were fabulous. I would have perfected my Thai tea with boba to not have the ice as I didn't enjoy the boba. We had springs rolls which were so delicious we forgot to take a picture, but image colorful, fresh shrimp spring rolls! Delicious! Our main meals consisted of the seafood pho and the special pho. Personally I would not get the special pho as the meats it in are very odd- but the broth was delicious. Both myself and my mom were not able to finish our meals, so we got to go containers in which the owner filled up with more broth and noodles for us. This was my first time trying pho, so I cannot compare it to any other pho restaurants. What I can say is that it was absolutely delicious, and I will be back! First off, the Vietnamese iced coffee was the best iced coffee I've ever had. The menu states that it is made with condensed milk, not creamer as indicated in an earlier review. This may just be our new go to pho spot. The pho ga (chicken) is delicious. We also ordered the spring rolls(requested no pork) and they were freshly rolled and paired amazing with the dipping sauce. My only wish for this new go to spot, is a couple vegetarian/vegan options. All of the other pho spots offer vegetarian or vegan options on their menus. My favorite spot in Mechanicsburg offers a vegetable pho(veggie broth), and several other options that don't require any swaps/alterations to make it vegetarian or vegan. Hello all, So I was hungry around lunch today and pho is my aways go to. I checked online for the menu and price, let's just say the pictures associated with this restaurant isn't accurate. A regular large bowl of pho (on the pictures) stated it was $11.99, but instead it was 15.99. Definitely wasn't happy with the false advertisement. Food was good though, yet overly priced. There really isn't much in the way of authentic, quality Asian fare in south central PA, but Pho Ngoc is as close to pho in California you can find in this area. I remember the broth tasting a little heavy on star anise, so it was a little sweeter than I'm used to. Nevertheless, the portions are generous. The bun thit nuong is also quite satisfying. My main gripe is that they don't make their ca phe sua da (Vietnamese coffee) with condensed milk, but rather they use creamer, which really isn't the same. It seems a lot of younger kids come in just for their boba drinks, but I hope eventually they come back for the food and get a taste for good Vietnamese food at some point. I've moved back to CA now, but if I ever find myself back in south central PA for whatever reason, this will be the place I go to. read more

i worked here for a few months and the food is great don't get me wrong, but the worker who worked up front with me is incredibly rude, to me as a worker and to customers, he would invade their space and pour the condiments into the soup unsolicited, and the prices are insane, he also violated most of the benefits he gave me when i started working here, such as my food break and my schedule wasn't not flexible at all, even after telling him i was a full time student athlete, underage, and religious. they hired me knowing all this and then let me go not even allowing me to put in my two weeks notice because "they needed full time workers." a waste of time honestly. he told me i couldn't keep any of my tips and that they were going to the cooks, but the actual boss came in one day and helped out and handed me some of the tips left at the table and told me they were for me, i was confused and told her i couldn't have them and why and she told me "no, they are for you." looking at these reviews is honestly crazy to me, even people who didn't even work there feel the same as me, and if i were a customer i wouldn't come here either, there cooks on the other hand and john are great no complaints to them i loved them as coworkers. but the vibes up from horrible even as a worker, my coworker up front kevin is extremely lazy and is always watching his phone or playing video games WHILE THERE ARE CUSTOMERS! read more
