I've lived in Lancaster for 4 months now, and this is the first time I am disappointed. I got a Banh Mi Stir-fried Chicken and it came with lettuce and tomato.. which is not typical for a Banh Mi!! It had NO pickled carrots and daikon, NO fresh cucumber, or cilantro. I also ordered the chicken pho!!! I can't even describe it because it makes me sad. NO Hoisin sauce!!! We order via Doordash twice last weekend and it did not disappoint! I got my usual Vietnamese spring rolls and raw beef pho that cooks in the soup, husband got fried spring rolls and brisket beef pho. Soups arrived hot and came nicely packed with noodles, jalapeno, bean sprouts and the usual soup fixins. We went to Sprout for their gluten free options as my friend has celiac. The staff were very helpful in explaining the gluten feee options. We walked from a nearby parking lot. Every dish I have had here has been great. The flavors are refreshing and layered- not one note or repetitive. The establishment itself is always very clean which I really appreciate. From the restaurant itself to the restroom, you can see care is put into keeping it clean. I wish that the staff was a little friendlier- they aren't unfriendly, just perhaps a little indifferent at times. Although there isn't a lot of indoor seating, the place was clean and staff was friendly. The food was fresh and arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. We ordered the CM 8 and the S 1, both dishes were delicious. The tofu in the CM 8 was flavorful and had a perfect texture, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, paired perfectly with the rice. The S1 was perfect for a cold windy day, the broth had notes of spicy jalapeños and fresh basil. The vegetables and glass noodles were cooked to perfection and not overdone and fun to eat with the crunchy tofu! The portion was decent and the dish overall was hearty and filling. The woman at the front counter showed me an option and told me after I ask if they used imitation seafood, she said no she also told me the seafood dishes had squid. All of these were lies to get my money. Then when I pointed out to her, that this fake squid that did not look like squid, which did not have any legs to be squid, was not squid, she insisted that this fake seafood was indeed real squid. In addition, allegedly, she said they had fresh jasmine tea after tasting a jasmine tea. It was obvious, and the tea was not fresh and taste it off. The dishes self was overprice and tasted exactly like a Chinese seafood dish with the white sauce. There was nothing Vietnamese about this dish at all. The cilantro brought freshness. The rice was sticky, soft, and fluffy. I got my food in about 15 minutes, Friday at noon, when lines were almost from wall to wall. Parking is not that bad even if it's street parking. Try not to park with a kiosk.
