I despise almost everything about these anonymous rating websites, but I created an account just to post this review. I came in to Pho Real with my family today, and it was my sons' first times having Vietnamese food. Myself, on the other hand, I consider to be rather well-versed in the cuisine. We all had the pho, and I had the rare steak in mine with the beef broth. It was nothing short of excellent -- hot, filling and tasty. The broth itself was packed with flavor, and probably one of the best I've had. The spring rolls were great as well. My wife had the vegan broth with chicken. I've never seen a vegan broth at a pho restaurant, and this was actually quite good for not having delicious, lovely beef marrow infusing it with flavor. The service was also phenomenal, and the staff incredibly friendly. Pho Real easily deserves at least a 4.5/10. There seems to be plenty of folks around here who don't know a lick about the cuisine, but I can vouch for this restaurant serving authentic and delicious food. It was hot and it had flavor and ingredients were fresh. If you are looking for authentic pho, this is not the place. It beat eating the instant pho bowl that you just add hot water to. However, the instant pho bowls taste more like pho than what we had tonight. Like I said, it had flavor - and the flavor was not bad at all - it just wasn't pho flavor. Even my son said, "If you gave me a blind taste test and gave this to me, I would not have known it was pho." $10.50 for a small bowl and $12.50 for a regular - this includes only one meat. Most pho restaurants give you different combo choices and the cost is the same for the different sizes. Here, you go through a line to order and it is $2 for each additional meat. Pretty steep if you want more than one meat. Could be 3-4x what you would pay other places, but there are no other places in Breckenridge. When I was paying for my bowl, the guy at the register noted that I didn't have basil. He told the other guy who then through on one leaf. The broth was also very "muddy" and not clear. When I make pho at home, I roast the onions and ginger to make the broth. Once added to the broth, the roasted (burned) skin on them often flakes off into the broth. I strain these black pieces out before serving. When serving some of our bowls tonight, the guy had to tip the pot to get the bottom broth. My bowl tonight was fine, but my children were after me. Their bowls came out with these black flakes floating in the broth along with the muddiness. I don't think anyone there was Vietnamese. I tried to say something in VN to the girl preparing my bowl and she looked at me blankly. We did not order anything else as the prices were so high for those items and we didn't think they would stand up to what we are accustomed to. read more

I had been in twice a week for my first few months in summit when I moved, only to learn the owner went to Vietnam for three months to learn from a well respected pho maker. After so many breakfast brunches, burgers, pizzas and pastas, Pho Real offered a decent break from rich food options. It exceeded my expectation for a mountain resort town, being that the bowl of pho was fresh with the necessary ingredients and that it was large and filling. Is Pho Real for real authentic Vietnamese food ? It is a fast food version of pho and counter service. It is an interpretation of pho and that is perfectly ok if you can accept this is pho in small town Breck. So don't think of it as pho and think of it as just beef noodle soup. The broth had enough beef flavor but cloudy and so very salty and too light on the spices that give pho its distinct flavor. So, we only ate the noodle solids and skipped the broth. The bowl of beef vermicelli/ $12.50, was probably the most authentic dish here; nicely flavored beef, rice vermicelli, the appropriate fresh green and shredded vinegared veggies , chopped peanuts, with nuoc cham already in the bowl; it would be better if they leave the sauce on the side, so one could control the intensity and saltiness. It is nevertheless a light dish, so one will not be full on a bowl of vermicelli after a hard day on the slope! Banh Mi /Vietnamese baguette roll $9. Yeah I know this is Breck but $9 is really too much for those who knows Vietnamese food. As for the pho, pick just one meat and your bowl of pho should be $10.50/small or $12.50/regular (it's actually a big portion bowl). Most traditional pho joints charge the same price for one or many combination of the cuts of meat. At Pho Real there is additional charge, so Do Not pick more than one meat, or different combination of meat unless you want to be surprised with a $20 bowl of pho. Vietnamese coffee $3- quite reasonable price Boba tea $6.50! I did not order this but it better be really good for this price! How about charging $4.50 for either coffee or boba tea so your customers would be encouraged to sample the boba tea? Overall a solid 3 for the food and can easily be a 4 with some minor changes. read more

The BEST pho in Summit County!!! The food here is pho-cking pho-nomenal. Convenient location by the gondola and super fast and friendly service. The restaurant was clean and comfortable and the enticing aromas of the food pulled my friend and I in the door. The owner was very welcoming and personable, and he even took the time to visit with us and share his background with Vietnamese cooking. He has had extensive Vietnamese culinary training with a famous pho master in Vietnam. He spends hours perfecting the broth daily and you can definitely tell in the quality of the flavor. Him and his staff are obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about the food. The spring rolls were incredibly fresh and they also offer a variety of other menu items like sandwiches, as well as, breakfast on weekends. They even have beer and wine to accompany your delicious meal. I also found the menu to be incredible affordable for a destination ski resort town. Stopped in for Bubble Tea. After waiting 15 minutes for the tea, was informed they didn't have enough to make even ONE of the Green Tea Bubble Teas. The Mango and Strawberry Bubble Tea were barely consumable as the bubbles tasted extremely salty - something I have never experienced when drinking Bubble Tea. Can't comment on the Pho, but recommend avoiding Bubble Tea UPDATE: Was contacted by owner offering a refund as the new kitchen staff inadvertently soaked bubbles in salt vs. sugar. We will also give it another try in the future. Food was actually pretty good. The flavor is not quite there yet, but I am sure that once they perfect their recipe, it will be much better. Quantity is perfect. What turned us off a little is that the place doesn't look much like a kitchen. There was an little employee area next to the kitchen with lots of person items and open food container. Didn't look too professional to me. I ordered my dish with shrimp and after a few minutes, another person walked behind the cook with a handful of shrimps in his hands. Not sure where they came from. Maybe the main kitchen is elsewhere. It was a little strange. We left a lot of broth in our dish when were were done eating and there really wasn't a place to bus our dishes with food still in it. we were asked to leave it on the bus station next to the trash, where someone grabbed it and disappeared downstairs with it. No problem at the time since the place wasn't bus, but once the place starts buzzing, it may become difficult to manage. We are from the DC area and are Vietnamese so we have an expectation when it comes to these staple food items. The place is more like a small cafe with limited seating. We had the Pho which was salty probably because it was later in the day (6:30pm); the banh mi (pork belly) was basic due to the bread not being made onsite and the raw red peppers is usually not a standard; and the combo fried rice was dry, chicken was chewy, and not to expectation. read more

This place was small and quaint. The pho was delicious and the spring rolls were some of the best I have ever had. Fried golden and delicious!! The only disappointment was the coffee...I was excited to see that they had the drip coffee, but it wasn't hot and was served in a paper cup, not in usual drip fashion. All in all, I would totally come back! The guy behind the counter took the time to explain everything to my bf's mom, who had never had pho. He was very patient and kind. Pho NOT so real! As a local Breckenridge resident - I have tried this place 3 times since the opening and have been really disappointed. The Staff isn't trained and every time someone new is working the "Pho-station". This has led to inconsistent product, cold broth, bland broth, and lack of ingredients - to say the least.... The owner, well... - he just stands around and is in the way. Took him three times of going to the "hidden" kitchen to make ONE spring roll, that lacked all the ingredients promised and still charged full price. Pho Real? I would not recommend this place to anyone visiting or local. If you want some good Pho, just make the drive to Frisco and check out Pho-Bay! It is worth it and its delicious. read more
