I've been to this restaurant twice since they've opened, both times for lunch. The first time I had a bowl of Pho with various mixed meats. It could have been a little more flavorful, but bonus points for large portions. I would give it a 6 or7 out of 10 stars. The second time I had the spicy chicken lemongrass with rice. Again a nice size portion, nicely flavored and medium spicy. Overall quite tasty, a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 stars. This place has only been open for two months, and evidently they are still working out the kinks and trying to perfect their menu. I'd love to see more small business ethnic restaurant open in The Villages, which would be a nice alternative to all the corporate franchise restaurants in the area. My only suggestion is that it would be great if they would create a lunch menu with meals in the $7-$10 price range. As it stands now the average entree is in the $11-$13--add in the tip and you're at $15--which is a little more than I generally want to pay for lunch. read more

Today was our first visit to Pho Sai Gon. It was a bit too warm today for Pho, but we had some Bun and it was great. Egg rolls were just as good. They are a bit slow getting orders out, but we seemed to arrive at a peak lunch rush. We will definitely be back. read more

Took my Mother and son and his wife, food was ok and the service was good. The mix up with my credit card is the issue. I was told they would refund the $20 that was taken on the to go order, I felt the dinner we ate there was worth a $20 tip which the waitress got on our dine in order. Totally $108 for dinner and tip. The to go order was $12, they decided it needed a tip as well I guess, went in and explained, they said they would get it straight...never happened...Stole $20 from me, filed a dispute with the credit card company hoping something happens. I have been back in the area several times in the last 6 months for business. I make sure I hit this restaurant at least once or twice per business trip. It is about 45 minutes from where I am working, but I absolutely make it a priority. Food is great, fresh, and full of flavor. Staff is always pleasant and kind. Really delicious food and good service from those working there who were born in Vietnam and/or of Vietnamese heritage. Only reason for four stars instead of five is that it takes quite a while to get food (20 minutes) with no "starters" (like bread or chips). Even when I called in advance and said I would be there in 20 minutes, my food was not ready. But hey, the price is right, the service is good, the atmosphere is just fine - I recommend going here, for sure - just be prepared to sit hungry for 20 minutes before food comes, or else you might ask which dishes do not take long (the dish I like, Bun Dac Viet, does not come up fast.) read more

Worst service I've ever had. My family of 6 was traveling from Gainesville to Tampa on Saturday evening to go to Busch Gardens on Sunday. We went out of our way to get to this restaurant. The parking lot was full and the place was 90% full, looked very promising. We sat down and greeted by a nice local lady. Took a few minutes to order, as we were ordering a large group (15) of clearly regular Vietnamese came in and sat near us. Within a few minutes the group was receiving their meals. Obviously they had called ahead, and I get that they are regulars on a Saturday night. We sat there for 15 more minutes with no food, as people came in to pickup takeout. No one approached us on our order, I finally asked and was told it was coming. The large group had been seated, served, ate their meals, paid and left, and we still had an empty table before us. By that time all but maybe 3 tables were empty. 10 minutes later our meals started to come out, the food was good, but my wife couldn't eat cause she was so upset. We were in there for 2 hours and 20 minutes. The waitress was the only one to apologize, management never showed their face. If they had they know they would have gotten an ear full. Seems they've improved their timing but I'll have to see the next time we stop in to sit down. Ordering online was a bit of pain, there was a lot of noise in the background that made them hard to understand. They also weren't able to take my order because I didn't know the menu number of the things I was asking for, so the girl passed me off the manager who took care of everything snappy. We used to love this place but it has gone downhill. I ordered takeout lunch in person on a Thursday at 1105. My order didn't come out until 1150. In the meantime, 4 table orders came, ate and left and 4 other takeout orders were picked up. The food was also very disappointing. The wonton soup had a full layer of green onions floating on top and the wontons were extremely mushy. The spring rolls were just shrimp and iceberg lettuce on rice paper. The charbroiled beef with rice was full of fat and bones and was overpowered by ginger. The only thing decent were the fried wontons. I got no apology or discount or anything for my wait. The food was good. There are only 2 things that could have been better. I placed the order early because I was driving 30+ minutes to get there but once I got there I still had to wait 15-20 minutes. Also once I got home I realized one of the broths kids were cracked. Luckily it was in a bag as well so it minimized the mess but the crack was huge and it was clear it was there. Foodies Rejoice, we have ourselves a wonderful, true Vietnamese Restaurant on 301 and 466. We moved to T.V. from Seattle and had to go to Orlando for our Vietnamese fix. The restaurant is a Vietnamese husband and wife team effort. Brian holds down the front and Tracy performs the magic in the kitchen. We went before 5 on Friday the 19th. They had a lot of wait staff ready to go and yes they are still working out some small kinks. Hints: First Vietnamese food is Not Spicy! Add sriracha to a sauce and broth for a customized kick. Go with another couple and eat family style so you can try different dishes. This did throw the staff so ask for small bowls to split the Pho and a knife. Here were Brian's suggestion for the of 4 us sharing. PHO P-1 Classic, BUN B-1 recreation of my Seattle addiction but must add Sriracha (appox. 2.5") to the sauce before pouring over charbroiled pork, rice, fried eggrolss Vermicelli rice dish. MI XAO M-1 Fry noodles with vegetables, seafood and chicken. We added 2 appetizers and ALL were outstanding! The F-4 fried rice was not at the same level. There are platters and custom soups both getting thumbs up from other diners. We can't wait to go back and work our way through the menu. read more

I was so surprised to find a Vietnamese restaurant near me in The Villages. It is an unassuming place for the outside, but the food is exceptional. Best spring rolls ever, excellent noodle dishes, and divine sweet banana with sticky rice. I have already been back 3 times and it is definitely my favorite place here. Have eaten here about 8 or 9 times in as many weeks. The food is great with many flavors and the portions are adequate. Sometimes they have skimped on the meats a little, but overall it has become our go to place for lunches. Wish they would open on Sundays. Think the same family also owns the nail salon next door. The parking can be a challenge as the lot is small. They have a fresh squeezed lemonade that is very good but has been inconsistent. Prices are a bit high but not exorbitant. Owner and staff is attentive but not real fast. You get a fresh quality meal with not a ton of carbs. Sauces and sides to add to your dishes are provided. Decor is good and the restaurant is clean. They need to laminate the menus as they have become shop worn. If you haven't tried Vietnamese food, you are missing out on a simple assortment of foods served with a deep complexity. Of course I smother my bowl with a huge hit from the spicy hot sriracha found on every table, but hey, that's what I like. read more
