I been eating there so many times. I was ignored other people when they told me their place was rude. But now I experienced myself. They rude as hell . The soup suppose to come with meat balls but it wasn't there .so I politely ask them if I could order it on the side as I always do . And the guy came up took the chopstick from me and steirring my food if the meat was there. Apparently it wasn't there.(that's was rude) So he went and get it. I really enjoy this place, they have pho, everything Vietnamese except for banh mi, which is weird. But you can get them for $3.99 next door at the Asian market. Being of Vietnamese descent, I can be fairly particular when it comes to eating at a Vietnamese restaurant. My parents, however, are even more particular when it comes to eating out at a Viet restaurant. That being said, Pho Saigon surpassed our expectations when the three of us came for dinner. I left wanting a reason to come back for more! Pho Saigon is a nicer Viet restaurant aesthetically (in comparison to others; normally I find the hole-in-the-wall restaurants end up having the best Vietnamese food). It's a fairly large, spacious, and clean facility. The food - oh, the food. I ordered the Pho Tai, which is a beef noodle soup with eye round steak and banh xeo (my favorite! ), which is essentially a vietnamese crepe stuffed with pork, shrimp, bean sprouts, onions. I find that banh xeo can be a rather difficult dish to perfect (to my expectations, at least), particularly because it's hard to maintain the crispness of the crepe with all the stuffings. Pho Saigon, however, nailed this one. It was so savory and fried to perfection. The ratio of pork, shrimp and bean sprouts was perfect (sometimes there is one too many) and the crepe itself didn't fall apart, as it was crisp but not dry. The pho was great as well; something about the spices was different than how my mother makes it, but it was a change I welcomed and really enjoyed actually. My only critique with Pho Saigon was the service. The server we had was a little unfriendly and unwelcoming, especially to my parents. The runner, however, who I assume was also the cook, was great and extremely friendly and even asked if we were enjoying our food. To sum up, I'll definitely be coming back. Oh my goodness... today was the second time my boyfriend and I have eaten here and it just keeps getting better. The first time we both had the Pho. The broth is intensely delicious. Lots of layers to the flavor which only gets better when you add in all the goodies. Today we both had the Beef Stew. We agreed that we may like this slightly more than the Pho. It was both rich and delicate in its flavor, and again got better with the add-ons. The owners are wonderful people. This was my first time having pho, and it was a great experience. We came a bit later on a Friday, and it was pretty dead. The waiter was very attentive, and my wife had a few different questions about types of coffee and whatnot, and he had useful answers. My wife ordered pho with flank steak, while I had a crispy noodle dish. We shared them both, and both were really good. The crispy noodles were something new to me, and were really nice with the sauce of the dish. My wife's pho was huge, and came with a side of fresh basil, bean sprouts, jalapeno, cilantro, and other veggies. I liked it a lot as well, although it did have a strong flavor that I think might have been Chinese five spice or star anise. I'm not sure if this typical of pho since it was my first experience, but I wouldn't mind if that was toned down a bit. We will definitely go back. read more

Portions are good here, and I like that they serve up a generous heaping of sprouts and herbs with their pho. The pho soup itself was seriously in need of depth and complexity. When our family goes out to eat, we weigh our options against going to Pho Saigon. And then we most likely just go to Pho Saigon. Why? Because its awesome. I'll start with the Pho. Our favorite is Pho Thai (I've never been much for the texture of the meatballs). The flavors are excellent, the portion is large, and they do every individual aspect of it well. I've had pho in four states at many, many restaurants, and this pho is at least as good as the best of them. Not all pho is created equal, and you can realllly tell when its not done right, but it's done right here. If you like it spicy, add sriracha and the jalapenos to the broth. If you like salty, dip your beef in hoisin. And before I forget to mention it, the pho is FAST. Really, really fast. That's important for our family because we have a toddler who can't sit still. It's great to be able to order and have our food quickly. Plus, he loves the broth. The other thing that I would be remiss not to mention is the pork. Pretty much any pork. I've got to tip my hat to the Vietnamese, they know how to do pork well. You can't go wrong with any dish that has "charbroiled pork" in the title. The Vermicelli with charbroiled pork or even the steamed rice dish are wonderful. So is the fresh spring roll appetizer. The staff is very kind. We've eaten there many times, with a messy toddler and they treat us very well. If they see us in the parking lot they have the high chair waiting. I think they just hired a new server and he's got a long way to go, but I can't fault this place because you can see how much they care and how hard they try. Sometimes we've had three separate people from the back come and ask us what we thought about the food. Overkill? Maybe, but at least they care. I hope this place really catches on. If you consider yourself an even moderately adventurous eater and you've never tried pho, make this place your first experience. And if the idea of eating a big bowl of soup sounds too weird for you, try a pork dish. I really don't think you'll be disappointed. P.S. I had a vermicelli dish from another popular place in Lexington. It was garbage compared to Pho Thai. This place is the best! read more

Finally a decent pho place in Lexington. The other pho places in town are meh compared to Pho Saigon. The soup broth is clear, bold and flavorful. The Pho is delicious, Hot Pots are scrumptious, and the spring rolls (vegetarian) are great. The dining room is spacious and the service is quick. The staff are super friendly. While visiting Lexington for horse shows, I tried this place out with my daughter. We both order Pho. I asked if they could do a pork chop on the side as I didn't see it on the menu. They did and it was all delicious. The broth base (most important) was layered and delicious. I enjoyed dinner so much I came back for lunch a few days later. Super nice staff as well. I ran across this place on Yelp and it sounded good. My expectations were greatly exceeded. This was my first time eating Pho and the server was very friendly and explained the different ingredients. The prices are great and the portions are very generous. I'm always willing to try new things so I ordered the P10 and that was a great choice. Some might be nervous ordering something that includes tendon, but take the chance it is delicious. It comes with a large plate of fresh extras like cilantro, bean sprouts, peppers and limes. The broth was slightly sweet and spicy and a squeeze of lime really brought it to life. The meat was tender and flavorful. The tendon melted in your mouth. We both got the large and it was huge! I can't imagine what the extra large would be. We also got the shrimp spring rolls and while they were good- the sauces were phenomenal. The peanut sauce was creamy and not overly sweet, the spicy sauce was something I could have eaten with a spoon. This is definitely a place that I'll be returning to in the future. read more

I really wanted to like this place but the price and entree I got (bun Bo hue) tasted oddly different from any traditional bowl of noodles I've had. I'm Vietnamese and have had my fair share growing up eating home made or at restaurants across the nation. The dish had an extreme shrimp paste flavor instead of spice it should have. The prices were of something coming from California or Nyc. The spring rolls were only about 3-4 inches long too. Overall I would not tell any of my colleagues to go check it out. read more

Food good. Service poor. We have come to eat at this restaurant more than 5 times now. The food was always good, nothing compared to the Pho places in the Washington DC area we were used to but for Lexington KY this Pho place serves decent food. The main issue was always with the service. The owners have no training in hospitality at all. The lady who seats you often has an attitude that it is a burden for her to have you eat at their restaurant. The owner who was usually very nice worked on his weekly or monthly income balance sheet when we ate there the last time. There were 4 other parties eating in the restaurant and we were all clearly waiting to pay, as all parties were done eating for more than 30min. My friend and I took the initiative and walked up to the owner who was going through a stack of 100 receipts in front of him from the week and was irritated that we interrupting his weekly or monthly billing. We asked if we could pay. We were two families totaling a party of 5 (!) and the owner already knew we would split the bill. My friend went first and paid for him and his wife and daughter. He gave a 10% tip because the service was very poor. Then I asked for my bill for my wife and me and the owner slapped on a fixed 20% gratuity on my portion of the bill after realizing that my friend only tipped him 10%. I asked why I have to pay a fixed 20% gratuity and my friend did not and he said it was for "service" for a large party of 5. I said it doesn't say it anywhere in the menu that 5 people is considered a large party (usually that is 6 or 7+ at other restaurants). I then also pointed out that we really had poor service waiting over 30min for someone to pay our bill and 20% tip was outrageous. While we left the restaurant the owner kept chasing after us and challenging my statement about poor service. The owners clearly should not be in the restaurant business, at least not in the United States. I now understand why this restaurant is never crowded because you usually leave with a bad aftertaste that makes you want to go out elsewhere next time. read more

I was visiting the University of Kentucky and was craving pho, so I decided to try this restaurant. I got Pho with meatballs and Thai iced tea. My boyfriend got pork BBQ vermicelli. Both of our dishes were delicious and we hope to return to this restaurant if we return to Kentucky. We were also very impressed with the owner, he was very kind, helpful, and attentive. I finally got to visit here for a celebration lunch! I can't say I'm an expert in Vietnamese food, but it's one of those cuisines here that's sort of hard to come by! I really liked the setup they had for the restaurant. The table has everything you need to season any dish to your taste, including a fermented pepper sauce and fish sauce. We ordered spring rolls to start. This was always a dish i was ambivalent about as a child, my mother would make it but the textures never clicked. However, the springrolls here were chewy and crunchy and rich and refreshing all at once. I went on to order the pho ga, and my partner ordered a noodle dish he couldn't pronounce but was recommended on the menu. Both of these were delicious. With hoisin on the side, and some fish sauce to my taste, the pho rocked. It had a really pure taste before my doctoring, but the dish was so good. My partner's noodle dish came with barbecued pork, vermicelli, vegetables, and some sweet fish based sauce on the side. It had a real contrast of textures and flavors and even my picky patron enjoyed it. Will come again to explore the menu! read more

I've been to Pho Saigon twice now and really enjoyed it both times! For this trip, we got the BBQ spring roll as an appetizer - very tasty! It tasted similar to a lettuce wrap with BBQ pork, noodles and lettuce inside. It was accompanied by a very tasty peanut sauce! Now for the pho. I got the P14 (gotta love the tendon) in a medium. It was he perfect amount to feel full. One thing I that makes this pho different from, say, Pho BC is the sweetness of the broth. It's just barely there, but you can taste maybe Chinese five spice or star anise. It gives it a very different flavor. Additionally, the ingredients in the pho seem very fresh, which I appreciate, and the meat never seems overcooked. read more
