Definitely wonderful pho! I love the chicken pho can be ordered with chicken broth, as well. Service is wonderful and attentive. Staff is quick to bring food to tables. Casual dining and family friendly.

Hi! I unfortunately did not have the best experience. The service was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was well decorated. I enjoyed the space for its dynamic depiction of Asian cultures and paintings. I liked the design of a bar-like area to make the restaurant stand out architecturally. This would be a nice setting for friends and family. My issue was that the food was not the best in any ethnic category. I ordered the Kim Chi Ramen, and I have a lot to say as someone from California. The egg was fully cooked, when usually it should have a gooey center like in most ramen. The pork is very pale and tastes as it looks. There is nothing significant about this dish that stands out or would make me want to return to this restaurant with confidence. I feel that the issue is that they advertise so many different dishes (pho, pad Thai, sushi, ramen) that it takes away from the dish because they do not specialize in one kind.

Today was my first time at Pho Shobu and my second time having pho. It was so good. Definitely lived up to my expectations! I had the pho with well done brisket. My husband also had pho and my son had the udon noodle soup with chicken. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was good. Menu looked amazing. I can't wait to go back and try a banh mi sandwich or vermicelli bowl.

The food was fantastic. My server was super kind and friendly. The environment is very clean overall great experience. I definitely recommend this place. Their pho is fantastic. The sushi is top notch. The stir fry was delicious! 10/10 5stars ;)

Pho for everyone! Came here as a last minute dinner spot for the whole family. Last minute at 6:30 on a Wednesday night. There were lots of people dining in. And just a couple spots open. During COVID19 review: Small shop with social distancing measures in place. All employees were masked. Patrons walking in were masked. Tables spaced out but it still seemed closer than 6ft. Patrons unmasked while seated. Ordered the 4 bowls of vegan pho, 1 bowl of shrimp pho, 1 bowl spicy ramen, egg rolls, and crab rangoons. There was something for everyone and all were content. Everything came out nice and hot. Vegan pho was light in flavor. A little on the bland. My little girls like their soups. We added tofu in their bowls. I needed to add seasonings to get better flavor. Spicy ramen kimchi soup, my husband said it tasted ok. Flavor was nice. Rangoons and egg rolls were hot and tasty. Service was friendly and great. Our total was $79.XX after gratuity. We appreciated the Fun Chop chopstick helpers for the kids. I've never seen that for other restaurants. I also appreciated the vegan option for pho. Overall it made for a ok option. We were not in the area but it seemed like the ONLY option for dine in pho during the pandemic.

This place is one of my favorite places to get Thai food. The level of spice is perfect, the food has so much flavor, and the service and ambience are always great. I love coming here!

Always a joy to come here and catch up with the Shobu family. Don't hesitate to chat with them, they are some of the kindest and friendliest people you can meet. Ordered our favorites, the calamari, khao-poon, and La's Dragon roll. I love that their khao poon is versatile in which you can season to your own taste. We always ask for sugar and fish sauce on the side, add extra chili oil and it's delish! Ingredients are always clean and so so fresh. We've never had to worry about quality. Other favorites we enjoy getting frequently are the banh mi and oxtail pho. Our waitress was excellent the entire time from start to finish. Stop by for the good food with company or even for a few drinks!

Nothing. I waited 40 mins for takeout of a noodle dish and gyoza. It wasn't until I have a look to the server to remind I was still waiting. Then she tells me the system is down and orders are taking longer. Goes in the back and I hear her say, "Where's the gyoza?" Comes out, puts it into the register then goes back to the kitchen. Another ten mins and I get my order. Pork is ROCK HARD and the gyoza is BURNED! I will NEVER go back.

I really enjoyed this and it is my second time here. First time, I had sushi. I have taken two different nieces and they both liked it. Today, we had the vermicelli salad with lobster, app sampler, and chicken pad Thai. I loved the salad and lobster was exceptional. Loved the meaty egg rolls the best from the app platter. My niece orders pad Thai everywhere and enjoyed this as well. I thought it was too sweet.

    Classic Banh Mi

Pho is usually on point. Service is great. But today was an extremely disappointing day for them as I ordered a Classic Banh Mi for take out and found raw pork in it. Idk if I'll come back and I'd be careful ordering the Banh Mi's.

I went recently to the restaurant with the first large group that I've been involved with since covid-19. All of us were a little older and have been vaccinated so was kind of fun to get together and I will say there are several people in the group that are restaurant owners and all of them are connoisseurs of Asian food (see the photo). People had Pho, some sushi rolls and some Hawaiian style poke in Bun.... I have to say in terms of a small restaurant they have one of the most extensive menus I've ever seen and certainly one of the most extensive Bun menus I've ever seen. I had a combination that included grilled chicken and you could really tell it was grilled chicken it had grill marks and it also was hot it also included steak which was good the sauce and everything else about the bun was traditional and delicious. My friends who had the foe said that they really enjoyed the soup and noodles. The sushi rolls in the tempura appetizers were a big hit with everyone. It's well worth a trip from anybody in a nearby area and anybody that has to drive a little for a nice evening out. Make sure you check their hours so you don't go too late I think they're a little reduced until they feel like they're getting into the swing of things.

Food was only so-so and EXPENSIVE! We should have known something was up when the place was nearly empty on a Friday night.

I knew we were in the right place when we walked I. And half of the restaurant were Vietnamese peeps. Was a warming experiencing hearing patrons throw a few traditional Lunar New Year greetings at each other and the owners. It's a small mom and pop shop, so much so, pop was the sole soldier working the entire front of the house. As such, don't expect super fast service, but good service nonetheless. We started with the fresh spring rolls, which were good, and their fried egg rolls, which I probably won't order again. The egg rolls were pretty much veggies, loosely filled, and served with a sweet and sour type dipping sauce. It was more of an Americanized Chinese style egg roll, not a Vietnamese cha gio with nouc cham. I ordered the pho dac biet and it was VERY good. The large is HUGE. Most places back home have suffered from shrink-flation and large bowls are tiny now. Not this place, I struggled to finish the bowl. My friends got the seafood pho, and another got the pho ga (chicken). I of course did not slide my chopsticks in theirs and swipe a bite, but they said they enjoyed theirs. I would definitely come back here again and maybe try some of their other dishes.

It's conveniently located in the strip mall with plenty of parking..it's the same mall off of University with Campbell's health foods, Hy-Vee pharmacy, Frederich's coffee. This restaurant still has that old time mom and pop Asian family feel it's a definite classic type vibe with Auntie snd the neices up front taking orders and the rest of the family in the back cooking and putting to go orders together. I always like to support a locally owned business. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. Having said that the service was fast and efficient . It's also about being realistic about the food. This is not a mall based chain restaurant or a high end bistro somewhere. The food was well prepared hot and delicious. This is a Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. So there's lots of variety in the menu. I have had the build your own Pho, Korean style Kalbi ribs. They also have Hunan Chinese style dishes, i have tried Mongolian beef, combination fried rice and potstickers. I also have tried the pork fried egg rolls. I usually go for a late lunch early dinner. I talked to the owner and asked her how they made their soup and she said they boiled bones and added their own spices which is the traditional way to do things, I think they have a good soup base, all soup comes with sprouts and fresh Thai basil, I usually add bok choy, brisket and steak. They have plenty of other Vietnamese dishes too. I have enjoyed their pork vermicelli which is a cool salad type dish which is nice on a hot day. Some of my friends really enjoy their chicken wings. So there's still a good option with lots of choices, good staff and reasonable prices.

I ordered the Pho Special (comes with brisket, beef tendon, eye of round, and meatballs). My dad got the Vietnamese ramen (egg noodles with meat & shrimp), my mom got the sizzling clay rice pot, and my brother got the stir fry beef egg noodles. Not the best pho I've had, but I still enjoyed it a lot. Broth had great flavor, however I wish I could have had raw steak as I prefer that in my pho but that wasn't an option- I usually like getting raw steak to put into the hot soup and let it cook a bit through as you put it in. I would eat here again though. The restaurant was clean and service was prompt. Nicely decorated, and prices were fair!

Was promptly seated and didn't have to wait long to get my order in or receive my food. Now I was in early so I could see how it could get busy as service picks up because seating can be a little limited. The restaurant was clean and decorated well enough. The location doesn't do it many favors but the food is good so I'll likely come back. I requested the New Delhi-Style Noodles because I enjoy yellow curry dishes and was needless to say I was impressed. The vermicelli noodles were great dipped into the accompanying fish sauce with curried chicken bites in between. The portion was solid for lunch and I didn't feel like I needed more to get me through until dinner. Only gripe is maybe the price is a little high for anything other than chicken but that's life right now. I'll likely stop back in to try a few more dishes when I'm back in the area.

Potstickers were just okay. The dipping sauce didn't do them any favors--this felt like an easy upgrade they're missing. Imperial Egg Rolls were the biggest letdown. At $17 for three, I expected something memorable...they just weren't. Pad Thai landed squarely in "average." Grilled Honey Roast Chicken Egg Noodles was a mixed bag. The chicken itself was delicious, but the noodles were pretty bland--and oddly, they didn't really work together. Royal Fried Rice was a win. The combo of BBQ pork, sweet sausage, and shrimp came together really well. Seafood Noodle dish was unfortunately pretty bland. All in all, a few bright spots, but not a place we're rushing back to--though I'd reorder those wings without hesitation.
