Staff checked in just the right amount, were happy to answer questions, and made sure everything came out fresh and hot. You really feel welcomed here, which adds to the overall experience. For starters, my wife and I shared the CHẢ GIÒ (Crispy Veggie Spring Rolls - $5). These were perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, light and flavorful on the inside, and paired nicely with the dipping sauce. A simple starter done very well. For our entrée, we didn't even hesitate ... we both went straight for the pho. The PHỞ CHÍN (Slow Cooked Tender Brisket - $16) was outstanding. The broth was rich, aromatic, and deeply flavorful, clearly simmered with care. The brisket was incredibly tender, the noodles were cooked just right, and the bowl was generous and comforting from the first sip to the last bite. Pho Son continues to prove why it's a go-to spot for authentic, satisfying Vietnamese food. Three visits in, and the quality, flavor, and service remain consistently excellent. Fast service, great food! We were greeted promptly for a later lunch. Menu is simple, so easy to choose your order. We started with the Summer Rolls (#2 on the menu) with Shrimp and Pork paired with a creamy, crunchy peanut sauce- large rolls that will fill you up and very good! We ordered the Pho with brisket, flank steak, and meatballs (to my surprise it also came with Tripe) and the Bahn Mi sandwich. The pho was hot and packed with rich flavored broth- they also don't skimp you on proteins in the soup. The Bahn Mi was a very large size with flaky bread and again packed with protein. The food we had was excellent and the service was great too. My only complaint is the prices are simply too high for what the food is. There are other restaurants in the area that offer similar quality food at $3-4 lower than this restaurant. That being said if you don't mind spending a little more, the food won't disappoint. read more

Very good banh mi, nicely stuffed, excellent bread. I had beef which was tender, and the sauces were tasty. I hear that the banh mi are their best offering! Prompt, polite service. I wanted to drink the peanut sauce. The stir fry was chock full of tender white meat chicken, the veggies were cooked beautifully and had a nice crisp to them. And it wasn't just a bowl of green pepper like so so many other restaurants. This dish included broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onions and red pepper. On a cold Burlington night nothing makes me feel better than a hot bowl of fresh Pho. Came in here on a Monday night. It was quiet and quaint inside. Only a few tables but luckily it wasn't crowded. The waitress sat our groups quickly and took our drink orders. They have alcoholic beverages but I chose to have a ginger ale. I ordered the Dac Biet, it came with medium rare brisket, flank brisket, fatty beef, and tendon. It came out quickly. Flavor was great and it was not too hot. Perfect for a cold night. The bean sprouts and mint leaves came out on the side so you can feel free to add as much or as little as you like. Came here for lunch because my family's usual Vietnamese spot Pho Dang in Winooski was closed on Sunday. The food was good but the service was atrocious. I'll address the food first. It was pretty good. Can't go wrong with pho. The Ba Bo La Lot (Beef in Betel Leaves) was something new I'd never tried before. It had a unique blend of flavors, very savory and just delicious. The fried spring rolls were pretty standard, fried and tasty. The pho was very good. It had the amazing blend of flavors and is competitive with many other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe in words, just an amazing mix! The broth is good. Unless a restaurant really messes it up, you really can't go wrong with pho As for the service, they were very unorganized. We had multiple servers come to our table but none of them seemed to coordinate with each other. Our servers forgot our appetizers until we already had our pho. But worst of all, when they were clearing the table one of the servers spilled fish sauce on my mom! It was a major hassle. I hope bad service isn't the norm, and that they were just overwhelmed due to staffing issues nationwide and the fact we came on a holiday weekend. The food has 4 stars but service (at least when I went) was 1 star. I'll round up to 3 stars just to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a bad day to come. Yesterday I went to Pho Son with my child. He informed the waiter that he was allergic to nuts and got an acknowledgement before making his order. When his appetizer came he noticed it was covered in peanuts. We left before eating anything because we couldn't trust that the food was safe for him. We understand that Vietnamese food is traditionally served with peanuts, but have enjoyed eating at other Vietnamese restaurants without incident upon informing the staff.
