This was an appetizer. Perfect after a long day's drive north.

Outstanding service and delicious Thai. I appreciate the customization to remove fish sauce. Close to the Hilton.

    $2 1/2 cup white rice

If your in Essex for thai, go to another place. Not great nor authentic and $2 for a 1/2 cup for extra white rice? It costs you about $0.10 to make this.. no thanks.

Came here for lunch on a Monday. Not crowded. Nice family run business with nice ambiance and a variety of options on menu. I had the pork bun which was good, but the pork was dry. My sister had the hot and sour soup which she said was good. They have boba and Thai tea. Prices are reasonable and good service. Parking lot available. Would return to try other entrees.

Good vermicelli and grilled chicken. Every bite was dlicious!

Needed some real vietnamese food. Went by the joint and ordered vermicelli chicken. I was not disappointed. The owner dropped by my table and talked about his career here. He has been cooking these delicious dishes for more than 23 years (with no vacation). You can literally taste the experience in every bite. I really enjoyed the food and service. I highly recommend this place...a but off the beaten path but worth the drive. Too bad the owner cook is taking some needed vacation to Vietnam next week. Should be back in a month.

Bun hoi with shrimp and pork. Asked for bean sprouts to be left out.

Pretty good food but service was just ok. Tempted to give 3 stars because of the service. 2 teens were in charge of the front area, i.e. taking orders, delivering food, and cleaning the tables. Definitely felt like the male was not taking the job seriously at all, almost like we were a nuisance or disturbance. Female was very nice and accommodating. Both were commenting after a large table with children left how dirty/messy children were. This isn't a fancy place so I don't expect prim and proper but politeness re: guests doesn't seem like too much to as for. With that said, the prices are really reasonable and the food was fresh, plentiful, and yummy. Had to ask for mint, basil, lime, and green sprouts with my pho tai (did not come and when I asked, was told it didn't come with it. They got it anyways...). Pho was good though could have used a little more flavor. Good amount of meat in a small. Bun hoi with shrimp and pork was the highlight. Super fresh and delicious. Got an app size of spring rolls (the fried kind) to add to it. App came with 6 yummy skinny rolls. Hubby got 3 and I threw 3 on my bun hoi. Perfection. Stick with takeout (as it appeared most of their business was) and you'll be a happy camper.

Casual dining Vietnamese restaurant with a wide selection. Friendly staff and fast service. The food was okay. I had the Banh Hoi Tom, Thit Nuong (vermicelli noodles with pork, shrimp, fresh veggies and fish sauce on the side) - the meat was a little in the tough side, but tasty sauce and large portion. Price is reasonable and I would go back to try other dishes.

    Mold in the sauce.

My favorite takeout in Essex. The pad thai and fried rice were super good, but the #12 soup with tendon stole the show.

Took my order and brought my water very quickly, food arrived very quickly and perfectly. The portions were great, loved the sprouts and mint leaves on the side. The Pho was phenomenal, and the sauces were delicious. Not only was the food delicious, the server ensured my water was topped and cold, and he also gave phenomenal service during my entire experience. I've always believed small 'Mom and pops' restaurants serve the best 'homey food' and this small restaurant did not disappoint! Definitely recommend visiting, it has become my new favorite spot for Vietnamese!

No upcharge for beef vs chicken or pork. We shared a roll sampler - these skinny rolls had no deep fried grease residue and were favored by others in my group. For me these lacked some flavor and I would have preferred a lighter fish sauce dipping sauce to the hoisin peanut sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed my Hu Tiu Mi - the broth had a rich quality paired with a combination of yellow egg noodles and rice noodles - I liked not having to choose. And the quail eggs were an original tasty addition. Bun Ga Nuon Cha Gio or grilled chicken and egg rolls served over rice noodles was fully consumed - it's worth the extra dollar for 2 skinny egg rolls. The garnish of pickled carrots are a favorite but I miss pickled daikon slices that I'm used to getting at other restaurants. The stir fry beef with white rice was also enjoyed. Fast attentive service. No American Express but VISA ok. NOTE: I feel conflicted about giving it 5 stars because for this area it is a standout and we will definitely return but not the best compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in larger cities

Pho Ly to the rescue! On a cold day their food and hospitality came to the rescue. What we ordered dining in: - Pho Dac Biet/Special Combination Soup (slices of rare beef, slices of beef blank, brisket, tendon, tripe in a beef broth with rice noodles) - Bo Kho/Vietnamese Beef Stew (beef flank, carrots, onions, cilantro, and scallion served with a choice of rice noodles or yellow noodles - we asked for a plain banh mi (bread) on the side for dipping) - Combination Platter (3 fried egg rolls, 3 shrimp rolls, 3 tiger rolls, served with sweet chili sauce or fish sauce) - Caphe sua da/Vietnamese Coffee with Condensed Milk What we ordered to go: - Another plain banh mi to enjoy with Thanksgiving left overs at home - Another Combination Platter to share with family - Mango Sticky Rice The Bo Kho comes with noodles but I forgot as ask for it to be excluded so it was a little bit much. Next time I will do that so I can enjoy the bread with the stew better. My husband and I agreed that the decor and ambiance of this restaurant reminded us so much of eateries we enjoyed in Vietnam. Everything was tasty and our server was such a kind, lovely man. We recommend this place and if we are ever back in the area we will surely be back!

This is a benefit you can count on when supporting small local businesses! The ambiance was limited as was the decor and space. The focus was definitely the tv on the wall. I liked the small window that could be seen from your seat where you watch the cooks preparing your food! The place was clean! Service was impeccable! A very young man helped us. When we finished our meal my date told him it was delicious ( he got the egg rolls and bbq beef with rice both he gave 10/10) and the young man asked what was our favorite. I found that to make our experience very personable and have not been asked that question before. My date said the bbq rice was the best and the young man said he would share the information with his boss and the cooks. I rated each dish separately on the photo captions so check those out! Overall I would say I unfortunately was not a fan of my two dishes but my date really like both of his. Thus the reason for the 3 star rating. However keep in mind my date gave it 5 stars and I gave it 2 so if I could give half stars this would be a 3.5 star review overall. I still highly recommend you go and try this place! Support local! Everyone has different tastes and they deserve a chance for you to judge for yourself!

We ordered pickup so we could enjoy dinner at home while watching the NFL playoff games, and honestly, it turned out to be the perfect choice. We started with the Edamame, which was simply done but really well, perfectly steamed and lightly salted, just the way it should be. We also ordered the Fresh Rolls and added avocado, asking for peanut sauce. They were fresh, crisp, and packed with veggies, and the peanut sauce brought everything together beautifully. A great way to start the meal. For my entrée, I went with the Cashew Nut dish from the Thai Sautéed Sauce section. I chose crispy chicken, jasmine rice, added extra chicken, and asked for medium spice. The flavors were spot on. The sauce had a nice kick without being overwhelming, the vegetables were fresh, and the roasted cashews added great texture. Even with takeout, the crispy chicken held up really well. My wife ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, also medium spicy. It was everything you want in a Pad Thai, perfectly cooked noodles, a great balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors, and very satisfying. The tofu was cooked nicely and soaked up the sauce really well. The service was smooth and easy from start to finish. Ordering online was simple, the food was ready on time, and everything was packaged neatly for pickup. Even though we didn't dine in, the restaurant itself felt clean, welcoming, and cozy when I walked in. It gave off a relaxed, inviting vibe that made me want to come back and eat there next time. We were really impressed with Pick Thai Vermont. The food was flavorful, portions were generous, and the experience was great all around. We'll definitely be back the next time we're craving Thai food.
