The owner should make her staff aware other customers can hear their conversations - our table of 3 were a little surprised to learn that this customers wife was away and the waitress was stopping by for the night after she got off work. I ordered the house special Pho (photo attached) the broth was at the right temperature my bowl had a generous portion of all the meats. And the rice noodles were cooked to perfection. The noodles were Vietnamese egg noodles so had the thickness of Vermicelli not Ramen noodles... added hot oil and some lime on top and it was a top notch flavor... I called to make sure I got the right order because it isn't lemongrass at all. They said the lemongrass probably fell off with cooking it and sometimes the marinade is too sweet (definitely this time). I have also tried their lemongrass chicken (take out) and although it had some lemongrass flavour, the meat was over cooked and dry. I would not recommend this place for authentic Vietnamese. Late lunch items we ordered: #27 Salad Rolls $6.50 2.5/5 stars The roll is not rolled up tight enough to give a better texture when you bite into it; resulting in the roll falling apart with each bit. #11 Chin nam gas gan sach i.e. Pho with mix variety of beef cuts with tendon & tripe $10.25 3/5 stars The broth is rich with beef and bone flavours, slightly on the sweet side, the beef cuts are average, and the Pho noodles cooked well without being too soft. Overall, not a bad bowl of Pho. #16 Mi do bien: Seafood & Egg Noodles with vegetables in soup $10.25 2.5/5 stars Basic vegetable stock, with egg noodles, mixed vegetables includes: carrots, broccoli, cabbage. Great spot. Locally owned. Staff were super friendly. We stopped here for a bit after a soccer game. This place was full of regulars where the owners and servers shared stories and conversations as if chatting amongst close friends. The food quality was great. Service was quick and friendly. Serving size was also really good. We had standard orders of Pho Tai and Pho Tai Nam Sach. Both excellent. We had our lunch here after hiking the golden ears lower falls trail. This place is awesome. Street parking is convenient. Noodle soup (pho) is very flavourful and serving is fast. Don't forget to try their Vietnamese hot coffee. We like it a lot. There are still people coming near 2pm to dine in and I can see some are regulars. This is our second time here. For the rice vermicelli dish, the spring rolls were sort of burnt on the end so I didn't eat it. I don't like wasting food but IT WAS BURNT The meat patty was good, texture and seasoning was there. The actual rice vermicelli was over cooked and didn't have the "mouth feel" that is very important to rice noodles. My mom ordered the fried rice but she couldn't finish it so me being a BIG FATTIE I finished it for her The fried rice was actually shockingly good. Compared to a lot of fried rice I've eaten in my life, the taste and texture is very good. I have tasted $25-$30 fried rice at boujee Chinese restaurants that were around the same or worse than this $11 fried rice. The egg, rice, vegetables, meat and "sauce" all married together and complimented each other. I really did not expect this out of this hUmBLe looking fried rice. We really like Vietnamese cuisine. We were nearby so we decided to try Pho Song. My husband ordered their spicy pho and I ordered rice plate. Everything will be alright If our meat won't be so fat. We had to leave a lot of pieces. And I get prawns with legs for the first time - awful! When we wanted to pay they added 50 cents for every ordered item - information about increased prices was only near cashier,nothing in menu, waitress also didn't mentioned this when we arrived. I am new to the area and have grown weary of the hit-and-miss experiences incurred in trying to find good restaurants. Recently my neighbourhood newspaper printed a "Best in Maple Ridge " excerpt which I grabbed. Since then I've been to a couple of very good restaurants, one of which is this little gem! Voted the "Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Maple Ridge 2015" I was excited to try it. It's a simple little cafe-style place with about 12 tables, that is clean and comfortable. Having never eaten Vietnamese food before I knew it was was going to be an adventure, which it was. The server turned out to be Pho Song herself who not only was very helpful but very personable, sitting down briefly to talk with us after learning we were 'newbies'. I chose the Grilled Lemongrass Chicken with Rice Vermicelli, preceded by Pork Spring Rolls. Yum. Both were delectable! The batter on the Spring Roll was as light as a feather, the chicken grilled tenderly and the vegetables very, very fresh. The final overall finish - delicious. My friends had Combination Plates #3 and 4, respectively which were comprised of Spring Rolls, Rice Vermicelli, BBQ Pork on a Skewer and either Meat Patties or Prawns on a Skewer. They too agreed they were scrumptious. Again, fresh, fresh, fresh and light, light light. I also tried their Fresh Coconut Drink which was filled with fresh pieces of coconut and very refreshing. For dessert you have a choice of either a banana or an apple dipped in a light batter, briefly fried and drizzled with honey. A perfect finish to a perfect meal. The only thing that could make (and did) the experience better was the price... My dish was only $9 and the combos only $11.75 each. Overall.... Excellent. We'll be back! read more

The last time I've been here I was contented. My boyfriend was happy with the chicken lemon grass with rice that he got because the portions is more than he's been getting at other pho places and he said it tasted good as well. My house special soup was also good, the soup is more on the fatty side than other places I've been to but they say the fattier it is the tastier it should be. The staff seem friendly towards their regular customers but I haven't been coming here long enough to confirm this for myself. It's one of the decent places for pho if you live in maple ridge/Pitt meadows area. My only issue the restaurant smells like incense candle. My gf and i went here the other night. We learned a little about "Song" the charismatic lady who i assume is the owner. Fun person and funny too. She is proud if her food and so she should be. It was out first time there and were sitting amongst regulars. They were all chatting it up with her. We ordered 2 beef and noodle pho with 2 springrolls. Both very delicious. Our food came out in mere minutes. We live in Langley but came out to Maple Ridge to try this place and it was worth the drive and toll. Its a little far for us, and paying for toll on top of dinner hurts a little, but the next time we need a mixup from our regular langley places, we will come here. read more
