I've driven by Gourmet Donuts in Langley many times, and finally stopped in. The shop has a welcoming, no-frills atmosphere that lets the fresh display of donuts take center stage. The donuts were soft and fresh, with plenty of flavours to choose from. Prices are quite reasonable, making it easy to pick up a few extras! The staff were friendly, patient, and helpful while I decided what to get. I appreciated that they also offer savoury options like breakfast croissants, sandwiches and coffee, if you're looking for something beyond sweets. The shop is easy to get to, with plenty of parking in the plaza. Seating is limited, but it didn't feel like an issue since most customers seem to be grabbing their orders to go. This place is open at 6:00 am and great for a before work place to pick up treats for my friends at work. This shop has a variety of traditional old school donuts. Delicious, fresh, perfect donuts that satisfy all your sweet needs. Apple fritter , maple cream fill, cruller, old fashion and so many more. Is hard to say which I love most, you will need to try them all. There are a regular group of gentlemen there in the early morning having their coffee and chatting to start the day. I've been on a bit of a donut tear lately, and Gourmet Donuts was my latest stop. Although it doesn't measure up to places like Lucky's or Royal City Donuts in Vancouver/Burnaby, this quaint little establishment stands out in Langley. I was pleasantly surprised at how simple, fresh, and delicious the donuts were. By no means would I consider them gourmet, but they were quintessential donuts: fluffy, chewy, and sweet. I had the cinnamon sugar twist and apple fritter, both of which had great texture. Especially at under $2 a donut, you'd be hard pressed to find better bang for your buck. Everything was super fresh (8:30am on a Saturday morning), although I can see how they wouldn't taste as good near closing time. Just remember to go early! read more

Extraordinary tasting donuts! The pineapple donut had real pineapple jam filling inside reminiscent of pineapple cake. The dough of their donuts is light and fluffy. I finally got to try this place after wanting to taste one of their donuts for months. It has limited daytime hours so if you miss that then you're out of luck. The initial impression wasn't great as they were not busy but the girl behind the counter seemed to keep rushing me to make a decision on how many donuts we wanted to order. My partner felt annoyed by this then just chose one chocolate dipped so then I hurried up and chose a sour cream glazed. If she would've just allowed us some time to decide, we probably would've bought 6 as there were lots of good choices. So the review is 4 stars for tasty, delish donuts but only 2 for rushed, unfriendly service which equals 3 stars. My advice to the ownership is to employ more personable staff and stay open a bit longer so the people that work day time hours are able to stop in. read more

So we needed some donuts and I thought we would give this small local shop a try. This shop has limited business hours and is typically open Monday to Saturday 6am to 5pm and Sunday 6 am to 4pm. This is the main reason I've never tried this shop before as it's typically closed by the time I decide I want a donut. We went in just before closing. The shop very clean. It was also busy and there were no empty tables. The menu was very clear and the shop also had a selection of coffee and other pastries We ended up getting a dozen donuts to go. Although there were plenty of donuts in the case I could see lots of empty trays so I knew the entire variety of donuts were not available to choose from. The staff member was very polite and I easily picked out some treats. I really liked that they put the donuts in two boxes so none of them got squished and the boxes was deep enough that the lid didn't touch the donuts. The donuts were, in a nutshell, delicious. They all tasted like they were freshly baked and were light and fluffy. None of the ones that I picked were too sweet and the donuts with filling had ample filling in them. Pretty darned good. Clean and with friendly, genuine service which is kind of a deal breaker fro me with the old school type places. The server was kind enough to suggest certain donuts that she liked and patiently waited as we debated our choices longer than anyone ever should. We had a raspberry filler apple fritter and a rocky road. Both were a little experimental but nothing over the top. These donuts are many notches above a Tim Horton's but maybe less gourmet than the name suggests. There was a bit of a mini-donut flavour, but that probably speaks to the freshness. This little shop just opened up, and if you can believe it, actually make their own doughnuts on site. What a concept! A girlfriend told me about this place and it is by far the best darn place for doughnuts I've ever been to! My husband is a doughnut fanatic and he now goes here 2-3 times a week. They sell out early but if you get there at the right time it's totally worth it! Also the coffee is amazing.
