First time here, but after this visit will now become regulars. My wife and I came in around 11am wanting something hot and new for lunch, and we left very full and very happy. Every single person working here is super friendly, helpful, and genuine. The Spring Rolls and Vietnamese Egg Rolls are soooooo good!! My wife had the chicken pho, and I had the seafood pho, and they were both absolutely delicious. We each got just the regular size bowl, but they're so big and full of amazing ramen and veggies and broth and proteins that neither one of us could finish it. Yes...lunch for tomorrow!!!! Meet up with my buddy today for some pho in East County--Santee, wasn't sure what I was getting myself into because Santee isn't really known for good Asian food but gotta say this place was pretty good and prices were reasonable. Got an order of salt and pepper tofu that came out piping hot and crispy with some sautéed green onions and garlic, with a side of sweet & sour dipping sauce. 9 out of 10, then got the number 2 which is the special with meatballs, good amount of noodles to meat ratio, soup was flavorful too, not too salty. I give it an 8.5 outta 10. Liked this place better than the other pho place down the street. Service was fast and friendly too. Establishment is clean and open as well. Second time trying Pho Van but first time ordering for pick up. I was told 30-40 min wait got there around 45-50mins after I called in order. Was told they needed 15 more mins because they were so busy, frustrating but okay. Drove around with the kids in the car and came back probably 20 mins after they told me that, they then tell me they don't have an order for me. Asked if I called the right location, showed them my phone and phone number matches theirs. We then asked why we were told 15 more mins if they didn't have our order and just a blank stare. First time reviewing Pho restaurant because i feel like every location is similar. I normally ask for less noodle on my pho in every pho places, sometime it come out the same, which is fine. The broth is delicious, portions are the same as other pho places and prices are fair; However, You get a 3.5 star for the rude customer service. Please don't make me feel like I asked a dumb question when I asked if you have a kids' menu. Anywhooo... they don't serve bahn mi sandwiches, but they offer other items on the menu - like orange chicken (sorry I can't remember the rest). My favorite pho place nearby. Meat taste good and broth is perfect. I discovered this place during the pandemic so I have only taken out. I love heating everything up at home. Some of the best Pho we've ever had! Prices are great here! Huge bowl of pho for less than a $8. We also had the egg rolls and the crispy chicken wings with jalapeño as a side which were awesome also. Best part about this place is that their service is AMAZING. They were topped with fried green onions, jalapeños and garlic. The toppings seemed a little on the greasy side but the chicken was tasty, not the best I've had though. " Large Soup & Tons Of Fresh Vegetables " I went to the Pho Van Vietnamese Restaurant in Santee, CA today to get my wife some Pho Soup. Kenny, greeted me nicely as I came in the door and he sat me at a table, gave me a To Go menu, and a glass of water. Kenny was very nice, as he took my order for a Rare Steak, & Well done Brisket with extra Vegetables. When I got home and served my wife you could see the HUGE amount Steak, Brisket, fresh Vegetables & Noodles, and a separate side of fresh Bean Sprouts, Jalapeno Peppers, Mint & Basil & Hot Sauce. The bowl was so big, my wife can enjoy this Vietnamese Pho for probably 2 more days. We were very impressed with the Pho dish and it's fresh ingredients. Pho Van has a wide range of dishes they serve. They have 22 different Rice Plate dishes, 10 different Vegetarian Dishes,10 different Rice Noodle & Egg dishes,10 different Stir Fried Dishes, 32 Vermicelli dishes, 5 Beef Stew Dishes, 10 house Specialties dishes, and 21 Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup combination dishes. 9 different Desserts, 10 different Smoothies, and 22 different Drinks. My entire life I have never been a fan of pho, but I always try a spoon of my friends to see if my palate has somehow changed. This is the only place that has ever gotten me to get a second spoonful! The flavor in the broth here is outrageous. Deep rich flavor and honestly it barely needed any toppings. I would most definitely order this next time I'm here. I also tried their beef noodles which were thin, cooked perfectly and overall delicious. The service is amazing. I have never had service this great in the Santee area! Excellent quality pho! I saw all the 5 star reviews and had to try this place out. I usually frequent Pho Ca Dao down the street but this place is much, much better! To me the most important component of pho is the broth. Pho Van has got it down. Flavorful without being salty. Noodles are also tender, not mushy. And you get a LOT of meat. To-go orders are only large size, and it's too much food. At least 6-8 ounces of meat alone. In the future I'll probably eat here and get the regular size. I had the tai + chin (rare and well done brisket) and it was not fatty or chewy at all. You also get green/white onions and cilantro, in addition to the usual basil, jalapeno, and bean sprouts. I can see someone sharing the large bowl since I couldn't finish it (and I hate wasting food). I also want to mention that they really should remove the stems of the cilantro that they provide with the noodles. I understand it's not the easiest thing to do, but they could at least cut most of the stem off instead of tossing everything in. Having said that, I will definitely be back to try some other dishes. We were in the mood for pho and noticed this new place is opened. The place is nicely decorated and very clean. We ordered the egg rolls, and fish sauce wings to start off with. Both were deliciously crispy and flavorful. My wife and sister both got the fried tofu and veggie pho and both said it was really good but the tofu needed to be fried longer. I got a meat combo and it was packed full with meat, so much so that I actually left some in the bowl when I was done. The small bowl is huge so I dont even want to see what the large bowl looks like. Our waiter was top notch and brought over some serrano's in a mixture with sugar and vinegar and I was addicted. Will most definitely come by again and try some of the other offerings. read more
