You ever have that one place that becomes your go-to place for a certain type of food? It's like a process for it to become your go-to: you go back multiple times to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke, you try random things on the menu to make sure it's not just one dish, & you may even go at different times to test the quality of service. Yeah, I had that place when I lived in Washington. Then I moved and was disappointed by every place that served pho. So disappointed that I have been pho-free for 4 years. Then I moved to Columbia and during my Yelp browsing I stumbled across Pho Viet & all of its praise-worthy reviews...and kept scrolling. I was scarred from my less- than-par pho experiences, and those places had decent reviews also. Finally, a cold front came to town and I found myself wearing long-sleeves craving the steamy aromatic slurp worthy dish. So fine, with all of my skepticism in tack, we make the trip, order, and receive our food. The service and atmosphere alone are excellent but the food...will.it.taste.amazing??? My wife and I were here yesterday for lunch. It wasn't very crowded, with only several tables occupied. The waiter was busy Concerning silverware, Chopstix and paper napkins and two bags for tables. He told us to sit anywhere continued to pack the bags for several minutes before coming over and giving us menus. I was surprised that he didn't wear a mask and had no gloves on as he packed all the sacks for the tables. We ordered an appetizer of the Crispy shrimp rolls. Brought them out with a bowl of dipping sauce for them. Very small rolls and compact and crispy. They were good. We were looking for Pho, so my wife ordered the chicken Pho with shrimp. I've only had Pho once, And I asked him which was popular. I decided to go with the Pho special which included all of the meats. I saw on the menu a listing all the meats and it included tripe and tendons. I've never had either and I really have no desire to try tripe, but I decided I would order it just to see how it was. The taste of the broth was good and the beans sprouts were very good. The broth had a nice tang as the last Pho I had. I tried the tripe and it's probably one of the worst things I've ever had. Look like a slab of fat, sort of translucent. I could eat the tripe and put aside.... and the same with the tendons. My mistake for ordering it. Bottom line is we thought we probably wouldn't go back. The last tire restaurant we went to was much better. First of all, we love the new location! And the walls of the interior are amazing. These plaques were made in Vietnam. Just beautiful! The Seafood Noodle Bowl had shrimp, squid & a little bit of crabmeat. The cilantro, jalapeño peppers & bean spouts accents & complimented the taste of the soup! With a dash or two of sriracha sauce just goes well with it! The presentation was excellent! Hubby had the Beef Stew Noodle bowl. After almost five years of going to Pho Viet, I will never go again. (1) The food's taste and quality + the customer service has gotten increasingly terrible throughout the pandemic, even as the prices go up. I introduced many people to this place, and the seafood has been raw or the meat underdone. (2) Even worse, I called in my usual order yesterday, and I kindly asked the person on the phone to "please make sure the top is securely on because the last time I came, an entire container of boiling pho broth spilled on me as soon as I got in the car." Well, when I got to the restaurant, a lady--who was laughing--asked another co-worker "make sure that top is on good," then she smiled. When I got home, I took the attached picture. Either a sharp slit cut itself into my plastic top (for the first time in five years), or SOMEONE cut a slit into my container. So, just like five stars state, this location of Pho Viet was GREAT. Picked it up to go. I ordered the 20 & 21 as I couldn't remember which my wife liked better and I had a 61(?) (black pepper and lemongrass tofu with rice noodles.). Love that they put the broth in one container and the soup's ingredients in another. Everything we ordered was amazing. Love the Pho. They give you the hoison, sriracha, and veggies on the side. SO GOOD. We were able to eat the two soups a total of four times. The tofu dish was as good to go as it is there. COVID safe. read more

First time here and I got the #15 Beef pho with rare steak, brisket & flank, fresh spring rolls and a watermelon boba as the avocado boba wasn't available. This was a pretty mediocre meal. Not worth the $29 I paid. The broth was pretty watery and lacking in flavor. The chicken in the spring roll was dry but the peanut sauce was okay. The service was great. I'm a lover of pho, which is what I had for dinner. While the stock was good, the broth was missing scallions and sweet onion which usually accompany pho. You could, however, pay extra to have it traditionally made. I don't see why it isn't properly prepared and presented with an increase in price on the menu.for a dollar or two. I've been here multiple times and I just love this place!! It's small with beautiful wooden are on the walls. It's warm and inviting. Everyone is super friendly and the food is delicious! I usually get the rare steak pho . I love to taste the broth because it's so good. Then add a ton of chili oil because I am a spicy kind of girl. The soup comes with cilantro, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeños. There are other condiments on the table. The Thai iced tea is good for a sweet and creamy pick me up. I love getting the Vietnamese crispy rolls if I have someone to help me eat them. The pho comes in huge portions so, you won't leave hungry. That's for sure! First time here today as I just moved here from VA. I ordered 3 dishes: pho tai, beef w/lemongrass + rice and beef fried rice. The broth for pho tai was mediocre. The beef w/lemongrass was a major failure. I didn't taste any lemongrass and this was just rice and steamed cabbage. Tasteless!!! The beef fried rice is salty ! ‍ So for those looking for real authentic Vietnamese food; this is not your place. You're not gonna get that here. I don't like leaving bad reviews however I just couldn't let this go unnoticed it's a little concerning. Went in this past Friday and a child and man who does not speak English we're our servers. This poor kid doesn't even look old enough to work. On this day he was flustered and it was hectic in there but we felt bad and still tipped. Our experience wasn't a good one but I'm all for second chances. My wife and I decided to go again Monday, weekday not too busy, the same little boy was working and I felt terribly sorry for him.
