We love coming to Dan's Thai - one of our favorites in Omaha! They are one of the only local restaurants that serve Kao Soi, a traditional dish served in northern Thailand that we had been dreaming of finding in NE after our travels to Thailand last year - this dish does not disappoint (but note that it comes with bone-in chicken, which I know isn't everyone's favorite)! The Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) and pineapple fried rice are our other favorite dishes. The Evil Curry is another delicious option we order sometimes to switch things up! They always seem to juggle a lot of take out orders, orders for delivery drivers, on top of dine-in customers, so service isn't always the most attentive/fast, but the staff is all so delightful and hard working and the food is top-notch! I've ordered via the BeyondMenu app a couple of times now and orders have been ready as estimated. The first time I requested one of the meals "Thai spicy" and I remember it not being disappointing. My most recent order included an instruction to "as hot as you can, punish me" and holy crap, they did. They haven't claimed my definitive top spot for Thai food, but it's tasty, good, and I'll be back. I also like that they are open on Sundays, when most Thai restaurants in Omaha are closed. I was wanting some Pad Thai, and made my way over to Thai Spice right by my house - only to discover they were permanently closed! So I searched Yelp for a highly rated spot and that's how I came upon Dan's Thai Cuisine. The inside was very sparse, but clean. The decor is mostly black inside with a large counter at the front where you would order to-go things, I'm assuming. We got seated at a booth, and started perusing the menu. I agree with a lot of other reviews that said they were the only people in the place when they dined there. We had the same experience, but we were also there at like 1:30pm, a bit after the lunch rush. The server came over to take our drink orders. I wanted a soda (always get that with any spicy food), and they only had the soda options in bottles and cans, which I'm not a huge fan of. It feels like I could just be eating at home with a soda from my fridge. For starters, we ordered crab rangoon and the pork dumplings. The Rangoons were really good and came out piping hot. The sauce that came with it was a spicy sweet and sour. It had a little less sweet than I like and was more a savory sweet and sour. Hmmm. The Pork Dumplings were amazing, though. They were almost like a mini egg roll, with a few veggies inside, and not just pork. I liked that a lot, because I'm not a huge pork person normally. The meals are very large, so be prepared to have leftovers! For my entree, I got the Pad Thai with Curry Sauce. It was SO tasty. It had a slight sweetness to the sauce, a lot of the protein (I got beef due to our server's recommendation) and a little heat from the curry sauce. Yum! My husband got the Pineapple Fried Rice, and it first came out with no pineapple in it! He said it was tasty and also pretty spicy, but he did let our server know there was no pineapple in his pineapple fried rice. They took it back and re-fired it with pineapple, and then it was perfect. Now here is where I will tell you, if you are not a fan of spicy food, this place might not be for you. I ordered the MILD on my meal and it was making my nose run, it was so spicy, still. My husband agreed with his fried rice making his head sweat! So with not much ambiance to speak of, I would say if you dine with Dan's Thai Cuisine, you could do it via DoorDash or the other delivery apps. Just make sure to be prepared for it to be pretty spicy no matter what level you order, even mild. I still enjoyed my meal at Dan's, but I think I will order it via DoorDash next time. read more

Went for lunch with a buddy today. This is a good ol fashioned hole in the wall. I believe our server was also our chef. She seemed to be only one there. I had the chicken larb and asked for it spicy hot and she delivered. Great flavor and nice and SPICY! We shared the sausage and rice balls as well. Look forward to trying more. read more

Ate here for the first time over the weekend. I was the only one at the restaurant the entire time of my meal midday on a Friday afternoon. The service was very quick and the meal was very good. I would definitely go back here. The interior of the dining room doesn't have a lot going on and it's pretty basic but it's a restaurant so what is important is the food. The spring rolls were very good the peanut sauce awesome and my pad Thai with curry sauce entrée was very good. If I had to be picky, I would just say that my portion could have been just a little bit bigger and I would've been extra happy but still the taste was there and I really enjoyed it read more

Ordered online and it was nice getting a notification email about when it was ready!! The eggrolls and the chicken wings were sooooo good!!! However, it was not a good batch for the pad thai. It just did not have any flavor at all and just tasted like cooked pad Thai noodles with no flavor which I've never had before but maybe it was just a weird night! I ordered this on DoorDash, so I cannot speak to the service and the ambience. However, the food I received was disappointing. The basil, fried rice was very greasy and did not have enough flavor. The evil curry which was their variant of a red curry was super watery and lackluster. read more

I lived in New York(Thai food there is everywhere and in average is good, some places even TOO GOOD) before moving to Omaha, has been a year already and every time I crave Pad Thai I end up having some mid 6/10 Pad Thai from different places trying to find the right one. Dan's is the right one, we had also Tom Kah and it was not bad, but I would order other stuff if I come again. The Pad Thai was the king, it is the best Pad Thai I have tried in Omaha. I understand there are people making this food and not everybody will get to experience the same batch I did, but if you are lucky to get it: you welcome. I ordered it medium (heat level) and it was spicy enough without being too spicy, simply perfect. Next time I have the cravings I'll be returning, and I will for sure keep trying their menu. Ambiance is simple, nothing pretty, kitchen music on the background, super clean compared to the rest of Thai restaurants around and the service was shy but welcoming and warmth at the same time, you feel empathy for the server because of his sweet face and his low tone voice. read more

I took a chance because I was in the mood for Thai and tried this place and was very impressed. Good dumplings, and some moist and seasoned chicken satay. I do think the peanut sauce was a bit sweet when I prefer it more savory but it did the job. For the main dish I read other reviews and everyone recommended the curry pad Thai and it's the first time I've ever seen something like this on a menu so I also gave it a try. I had the Beef curry pad Thai and it was some of the best pad Thai I think I've ever had. Pad Thai can be incredibly dry but combining it with the curry made it so saucy and delicious. I really enjoyed it. I will say it was missing crushed peanuts which I'm used to in pad Thai and I did feel like it was missing that crunch still, maybe next time I can ask for them to include it, but overall everything I had was delicious and I love that they have such unique spins on some dishes, makes me want to try other unique things they have on the menu. The food was delicious, their mild is above my heat level on spice tolerance. Jalapeños are also above my spice comfort zone. I've been waiting for Omaha to have Khao soi for over a decade, and Dan's was wonderful. Super flavorful broth, tangy mustard greens, and perfectly braised chicken quarter - even when I've had other great Khao soi the chicken is almost always overcooked slices. Drunken noodles had lots of veggies that weren't overcooked, wings were great and so were the egg rolls. Not my favorite pad thai, but Dan's has so much to offer, don't sleep on it. read more
