For the price we could have easily booked a beautiful updated hotel mountainside with amenities but felt the private pool would be worth it and we like to be able to put our young kids to sleep and hang out together playing games. Honestly the pool isn't great. Even keeping covered all day it was pretty cold to be in it. Basically only the kids swam because the adults were shivering. It's also carpeted with leaves a lingering musty smell throughout the house. The kitchen is small, the bathrooms are outdated and In general it wasn't amazing. Maybe if it was affordable it would have been worth it but at the rate of over $6000 for 4 nights it wasn't up to the standards you would expect. You need to provide everything yourself. Sheets, pillows, towels, toilet paper we forgot hand towels and had to go buy them it's just obnoxious. Again just normal hotel amenities but when paying so much you would expect to have things provided. We rent Airbnb's and vacation homes a lot, to be more comfortable than a hotel and this was significantly less comfortable. The owners are so stringent we were scared to even ask for the pool temperature to be warmer or the slippery ice conditions out front to be addressed after they treated us so aggressively over the phone before checking in. You'll pay a hefty cleaning fee but also be told to basically scrub and clean everything yourself or they will charge your security deposit. I think we paid $550 for them to vacuum? Besides just sub par updates it is frustrating to be spoken down to so rudely and assumed to be some kind of bachelor party when you're just 3 families with kids. If you set your hopes very low and pay half the price maybe then it would have been a worthwhile place to go. Otherwise the pool at cranmore mountain looked great.

Learning to ski as an adult is both thrilling and terrifying. While happy with my slow but steady…read moreprogress, I'm often looking for ski locations offering trails that align with my current ability and offer a bit of a challenge when I'm up for it. Cranmore delivered just that and more. Lots of greens and blues where I could work on my skills, try trails with escalating difficulty, and still kick back when I just want to enjoy myself and not be a ball of nerves. I also enjoyed the length and variety of their many trails I could traverse. Was happy to have more options than just a quick up and down in a straight line over a full day of skiing. Their main lift was quick and skiers were able to load efficiently. Lots to look at on the way up. The day of my last visit there were several ski competitions going on just next to the lift so it was fun to watch people competing and see spectators make the trek up to watch as well. Ski patrol were out and about and lots of staff available to check in with as needed. The lodge itself had everything I needed... free cubbies to store your stuff, bench seating to change into your boots, adequate table space both up and downstairs to grab a bite to eat, indoor and outdoor gas fireplaces to huddle by, a bar and hot foods, and best of all... a bathroom at the same level as where you can ski up to so no having to navigate stairs in clunky footwear. Drop off area for skis, quick in and out to purchase tickets, simple walk over to a very large parking area. I can't wait to return when the opportunity arises!

The mountain coaster was the best part, and we only waited a max of 5 min in line, and ended up riding it 6 times. There was a longer line for the Soaring Eagle zipline and Swing, only because they can only hold a few people at a time. The chair lift had nice views. The trampoline was entertaining, but kinda one note. The inflatable obstacle courses were both scalding hot in the sun and had puddles from rain the night before, so my kids didn't like those. I'd recommend Cranmore Adventure Park for 2-3 hours of fun.

Even without the familial connection, I'd be absolutely in love with this place. Family and friends gathered this past weekend for a memorial hike in honor of my dad, who passed in 2007. Leon and Nellie went out of their way to accommodate us, down to even offering additional rooms when some extra guests appeared and getting up extra early to make us to-go egg sandwiches we could take long on our hike up Mt. Washington. Both our group and the other guests at the Inn were treated like treasured friends in their home and it felt like a big old family reunion for us all. The Spruce Moose is the perfect location---a short walk to the adorable North Conway village, and a quick drive to countless hiking options. The decor makes you feel like you're visiting friends in a luxurious mountain home. Zeb and Avery, the two trusty labs, greet you at the door and will cuddle you on the couch for hours if you let them. The beds are comfy, and the rooms contain no tvs so you can truly enjoy the nature around you (though there IS wi-fi if you need your technology fix). Breakfast in the morning is delicious and filling. Tea and coffee are available at any time. It was an amazing weekend, in no small part to Leon and Nellie. I will be back to the Spruce Moose the next time I come to North Conway!

My room was beautiful, the shower had great water pressure, and the lodge itself is super warm and cozy. I honestly felt like I was visiting relatives I just hadn't met yet.

Property that was rented had multiple major safety issues. Rear deck railing ready to fall off. Owner had tried to hack together a fix, did a bad job. Good 20+ foot drop that could seriously injure someone. Children should not stay there. Back stairs were ready to fall apart. Seriously dangerous, I cannot stress enough. Must be replaced before anyone steps on them. Hot tub room was obviously added on and not done to code. Multiple metal joists missing, beams/wood married in wrong location. It was concerning to say the least. 1 hour check in window only. 4-5pm. Fee of $150 to add 1 hour earlier check in. Broken glass on driveway from broken flood light. Luckily I had my sandals on. You can't control the thermostat yourself since it's central heating/cooling, and instead get this ghetto stick to basically close/open the vents haha. But we never had a problem with the temperature! The hotel is at the end of the driveway, don't listen to Google maps and just follow Fallen Artist Way all the way down to the end. Free washer/dryer, but only takes HE (High Efficiency) detergent so pack some or you'll have to buy it at the front desk. Free DVDs/VHS (yes, VHS tapes haha) for rental. Nothing too recent but plenty of goodies! Quarter slot billiards table and arcade games in the basement. Really reliable and fast free wifi but no cell phone reception (I have Sprint though so maybe that's why?) Spacious rooms when the bed is pushed into the wall, and you can ask for extra cots so a family of 5 would be fine in a studio.
