The FGI was a great surprise. My wife and I were concerned about the dated photos, but the amenities and staff were incredible! This place is 100% family friendly. We had a room next to family and the kids had a blast playing on the swings and the play room. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it was immaculate. PROs - location ( 7 min to Storyland, 3 min to shops ), playground, playroom, sound proof rooms ( couldn't hear any kids from other rooms ), beautiful views, common areas, free wifi, plenty of parking. CONs - dated decor ( they updated the hallways ), beds ( including the couch bed ) were not very comfy, weak wifi ( same as a NYC hotel ), bring extra sheets. I'd happily go again! read more

This place is SUPER family-friendly and would be perfect for those with young children and toddlers. It's an old place though so don't have high expectations. You can't control the thermostat yourself since it's central heating/cooling, and instead get this ghetto stick to basically close/open the vents haha. But we never had a problem with the temperature! The hotel is at the end of the driveway, don't listen to Google maps and just follow Fallen Artist Way all the way down to the end. Free washer/dryer, but only takes HE (High Efficiency) detergent so pack some or you'll have to buy it at the front desk. Free DVDs/VHS (yes, VHS tapes haha) for rental. Nothing too recent but plenty of goodies! Quarter slot billiards table and arcade games in the basement. Really reliable and fast free wifi but no cell phone reception (I have Sprint though so maybe that's why?) Spacious rooms when the bed is pushed into the wall, and you can ask for extra cots so a family of 5 would be fine in a studio. read more

For the price and what you get I do not have a single bad thing to say about this place. You get a full kitchen so if your looking to save a little money by not going out to eat for every meal you could definitely go grocery shopping and be able to store and prepare all your meals in the room. There a full size table and 4 chairs to eat at. Again I couldn't believe what we got for under $100 bucks a night. Now if your looking for a big fancy place with a luxury bed and a flat screen on the wall this is not the place for you. It is definitely outdated but who cares if your just looking for a place to sleep and possibly eat at at night so that you can enjoy the white mountains during the day and not go broke because of the cost of your hotel. read more

Stay away from this disgusting place. We had the worst experience at this place and never have had to deal with such utterly disgusting filth. Dead bugs on window sills, filthy sheets, blankets and towels, disgusting dirty shower, dirty stained rugs and let me not forget the bed bug trays visible under bed. Don't waste your money or time. My husband and I stayed at Forest Glen Inn this past week, and we were pleasantly surprised. You wouldn't necessarily be impressed looking at the photos on the inn's website, but we were very happy with our stay there. The rooms and furnishings are definitely dated, but everything is in really good shape and is very clean. We had a studio room with a murphy bed, which was actually very comfy. There is a full kitchen with dishes, cookware, etc. all provided, which is a huge bonus if you don't want to go out to eat all the time. And while the furnishings may be dated, there is a flat-screen TV, cable, and free wi-fi, so they've kept up with the times. My only complaint would be that we didn't have enough available outlets for our laptop, phone chargers, etc. Another great perk is that you get the use of a semi-private porch that runs the length of your room and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding trees and mountains. I spent hours sitting on the porch reading and enjoying the first hints of fall weather. The inn also has a game room downstairs, as well as a small gym, and they even have bikes you can rent if you want to ride out and explore town. If you want to stay somewhere with room service, a bar downstairs, and an indoor pool, this may not be the place for you. But if you're looking for someplace affordable, comfortable, clean, and with a great view, you should check out the Forest Glen. read more

Where do I begin. The beds are disgusting I am in one right now and I'm itchy and uncomfortable. Outdated rooms and room furniture. The WiFi is bloody horrendous. While it is conveniently placed in regards to downtown North Conway it does lack any sort of clear directions for someone looking for somewhere to stay. It is just not great. The tiles on the hot tub siding are also falling off and the bathroom is horrendously small. The other problem is that my room smells like stale cigarettes. Not helpful for trying to fall asleep. Stayed at this place back in September. When we got to our room the headboard was off the wall and there was hair all over the tub. They switched us to a new room and there were stains all over the carpet, the bedding was completely stained, bedbug trays under the legs of the bed, feces on a what was suppose to be a clean towel. The WiFi didn't work. We wanted to check out that night but could not find a hotel room to accommodate us. Got up early next morning found a hotel to stay at. Trying to get a refund but would only refund me one out of two nights. Would not recommend this place at all should not even be open. read more

We stayed here for a single night in December (2018). It's fine as a one-night place to crash, but I definitely won't go stay again. It's worth it to spend a little more to stay even at the Quality Inn, in my opinion. Beds were clean but not comfortable (again, my opinion!). The shower was not clean...I spent my shower trying desperately to avoid touching anything, especially the curtain. The towels were stained, thankfully there were more than two so we could pick and choose which to use. I think it would be worth it for them to invest in some new beds and towels. Other than that, like I said, it's a place to crash for a reasonable price- nothing fancy. It was close to the restaurants we wanted to go to, easy to check in, and inexpensive. read more

The location was convenient and it has a pool, which looked clean. Extremely bare bones room which was very utilitarian. Reached by wandering through a public room with a bar and an employee entrance. It did have an ok bed with good cover but no headboard, a really tiny tv, a tiny microwave, and a small fridge. There were plenty of towels and toiletries, and a decent shower. This you could live with for a short stay. It felt like camping. I can assure you our room did not look like those photos. There is no breakfast. Coffee doesn't start until 700. Go at 700. They don't have enough coffee mugs. A staff member did find a dirty one for me and wash it, but it still had coffee drips on the outside when he finished. There is a thermostat on the wall but it did not control the temperature of our room. The actual thermostat is located in a separate building where the employees live. Unfortunately they left and locked the door, so no one could turn on our air. We were perspiring. Finally, staff returned and were able to turn it on. We froze all night. Water in their vending machine is $2. I bought a case at CVS down the street for $2.49. They do have WiFi but good luck with that. The staff is primarily college students and they are very polite. We stayed a few nights but never saw that friendly owner/manager mentioned. read more

Stayed at the Forest Glen Inn in North Conway last weekend. We arrived later in the evening (around 8:30PM), the staff was pleasant and helpful. The accommodations were clean and affordable for a family of 4. There was a modest game room/TV room downstairs. 2 beautiful stone fireplaces - I only wished they were in use. They also provided discount ski lift tickets. Beautifully located on a dead-end road but close to all amenities. All in all an affordable option. read more

Guys! This place is great if you come to ski and snowboard, we had a room with small kitchen and Murphy bed and a sofa, what else do you need for a quick ski trip? the room was clean, hotel very quite, 1 mile from cranmore mountain slopes and really really peaceful . Guy at the front desk was super nice if you arrive late, make sure you contact the hotel before because the long is not open 24 hours. The only thing missing in the room was a blow drier . But I mean, come on 69$ a night .. you can't beat that Also , is not near the highway as a lot of hotels are, but it's more like in the woods. I was happy with my stay read more

My wife has been vacationing at Forest Glen Inn for over 20 years. I've joined her for 8 of those years. FGI is a great place. It's not fancy, but it has all the amenities you need for a vacation in North Conway. It's clean, completely affordable and located close to town. Just to be clear, FGI is not fancy at all. Some of the units are dated and there is paneling on the hallway walls. But it's just "easy". You have your own (small) kitchen so you don't need to eat out all the time and the rooms are just the right size. It's especially great if you have a family. There's a small game room, a nice pool and everyone is laid back. We plan to summer there for a long time to come. read more

I posted some new pics on here since many pics seem outdated and they had a remodel in Jan, 2017. Decor is as modern as any regular large chain motel like Holiday Inn. What everybody else has said about this being customer and family friendly is very true. The property manager, Mike, was extremely personable, walked us to our room, showed us lightswitches, etc. He also called us when we were running late to ensure we knew how to do late check-in if needed. They are off the main road in a side street, so no traffic noise. There are many amenities. We didn't use many, but they have sauna, hot tub, tennis, and even firepits, along with pool. There is a game room - games need a little maintenance. As my husband is a video game officionado, I know all these classic games are very hard to maintain. They are very old and break often, and parts are hard to find as are people to service the games. We give Forest Glen 5 stars and will definitely stay here when we're back in town. read more

Giving them 2 stars because at least the sheets were clean. Nothing else was. We Booked a queen size bed got a full. TV slightly larger than my laptop. Only one nightstand. Closet doors off the tracks (sliders) it had extra pillows but no pillow cases for them. Extra blanket was dirty. Open unsecured WiFi. Thankfully we only have to stay one night. I stayed here last weekend wish my husband. The hotel is conveniently located near many restaurants and shops. We had some trouble checking in as the front desk employee kept telling us my sister (who also stayed) had only booked 1 room instead of 2. This was eventually worked out, but my husband and I were put in a room that was through an "employees only" door, which was really weird. Our room had plenty of space with a bed, 2 chairs and a mini fridge. The bathroom was stocked with plenty of towels and had a good shower. The bed itself was pretty firm. read more

Forest Glen Inn is a great place to visit, perfect location in North Conway. Close to everything without any noise, super relaxing. The rooms may be a little dated but don't let that dissuade you, it is a gem in the white mountains. Everyone is super friendly, the rooms are very neat and clean. They have a fun free wine and cheese social time on Saturday nights for adults. They have an arcade, pool table and ping pong table on the lower level. They also have a sauna, hot tubs, tennis court and shuffleboard. read more

Hotel and room not as shown in photos: noisy (could hear neighbors voices clearly, cramped, no space, no nice wood-panelling, etc., very dirty, beds were a murphy and a sofa sleeper. When both open no room to mover, had to crawl over beds to get to bathroom. We had to get sheets from desk and make up beds ourselves; however, desk seldom manned, actually had to search around for a maid to pickup sheets and towels, since too few of them as well. When we checked out I saw they were overcharging for our 3 day stay by approximately 200%. The desk person assured me that the manager would credit our credit card; however was not done. This was for our stay August 2018, now 10/20/2018. We are still disputing this with credit card. No breakfast, continental or otherwise-which was promised. Had to purchase an extension cord and adapter to connect lamp--few outlets and one was defective. Internet did not work, no cell service. Concert noise from up at the ski area one night(even with windows closed. Forced to travel quite a ways to find any services, food, gas, shops... Way overpriced, even without their overcharges. One of the worst experiences and places, I have ever stayed in, and I have traveled for 45 years all over the world and in all states approx. 70% of my life. I grew up in NH, but this hotel makes me almost ashamed of my native state. read more

My family and I have been coming to FGI for vacation 4 years, and it is a great experience every time! The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are very friendly, and make you feel welcome. We stayed here with some friend for one night. Definitely will not recommend this hotel. We checked in late and here's my experience. (1) The hotel is located at the end of a very dark road. There is no lights on the sign, hotel, or street leading to the hotel. (2) There is no phone service in the room. (3) do not expect high tech in this hotel. Everything in the room are outdated. (4) wifi is loussssy in the room. You may get some signal out in the hallway. (5) bed sheets are dirty on both beds. We had to request for replacement. The bathroom is small. (6) breakfast is nothing is ehh. Nothing special. The good thing is we only stayed for one night. Everything about this place is cheap. I wouldn't rate it 3 stars. We stayed at other 3 stars hotel and was much more happy. read more
