Very good falafel, eggplant was decent too but too expensive $9 for 6 slices. Service is very good, it's a casual place so nothing fancy to expect. Entrees are large portions, Greek salad was quite small portion.

Best middle eastern in Denver. Great service as is the custom. Wonderful food. And easy street parking. My fave when visiting.

Solid middle eastern place with a pretty extensive menu. I have ordered a few items for take-out on different occasions. My consistent experience with this place is that the service is stellar in this family run place and the prices are reasonable for the current climate. The food is flavored well and consistent but not always the most tender cuts of meat. I do enjoy supporting this place and they could be a 5-star review with slightly better cuts of meat. I personally would not mind paying the difference in price for a better product.

Newish to the neighborhood and decided to give Phoenician a try. We ordered to-go and had a couple of drinks while we waited. Gyro Sandwich and Greek Salad w/ Gyro. Ambiance of the restaurant was cozy, yet open and family-oriented. It was very clean and the bar top was glistening. My only complaint is that we ordered a side of pita, but when we got home we didn't have it. We weren't charged for it, but still disappointing.

Front counter. Fairly empty today. Sadly.

Sadly disappointed. I was looking forward to trying this place with my half-Armenian mother-in-law who thought this place would live up to its star reviews. It was almost empty when we arrived on Saturday evening at 5:00 PM and the employees seemed eager to be helpful. Our server was very sweet. We ordered grape leaves and garlic dip with pita for appetizers and the grape leaves were fresh, warm and tasty. It was served with a yogurt dip which had little flavor but the garlic dip had ALL the garlic in Denver whipped into its fluffiness. It was actually too garlicky (I can't believe I'm saying that) but I added it to all the rest of the food I ordered which helped a little. While the pita bread looked freshly made, it was too hard and crispy to enjoy, like some ingredient was missing or the flour was old. My "salad" was comprised of chunked cucumber & tomatoes with a sprinkle of red onions but no dressing. Kinda bland. The 3-kebab plate I ordered came out smelling terrific and the rice was fabulously fragrant but the koftka was dry and over cooked as was the chicken kebab. The lamb kebab was tender and tasty however. The hummus was beautiful to behold but was sadly flavorless. It's like they forgot to season this batch when making it. A band began to set up prior us leaving, so perhaps it was good that we left. I really wanted to like this place but regrettably I cannot recommend it.

Took my son here for dinner before our concert. The place is decently sized and casual. Our waiter was ok and not as attentive. He was young. Not sure how long he worked there, but I gave him grace and not let it bother me too much. He was very nice which I liked very much. We started off with some falafel to share. The falafels were delicious. My son ordered the meat combo plate which comes with pita bread. He chose two beef and one chicken kabobs. I ordered the gyro plate which doesn't come with pita bread. His serving of pita bread was more than plenty to share. The pita bread was so delicious and warm out of the oven. My son really enjoyed his meat combo plate. He said he liked the chicken kabob more than the beef kabobs. I really enjoyed my gyro plate. I also ordered a piece of baklava to try too. The baklava was good and not as sweet. It's definitely great for people who needs to cut back on sugar. The baklava was ok for me. I still like Jerusalem's baklava the most. This place is good. I would come back.

Paired with the warm, incredibly soft pita bread, it was the perfect way to kick off the meal. The falafel on the side was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned beautifully. A special shoutout to our server, Abigail, who made the experience even better. She was genuinely friendly, attractive, attentive without hovering, and everything arrived quickly. Great food is always a win, but great service is what makes you want to come back. If you're looking for fresh, delicious Middle Eastern cuisine with outstanding hospitality, Ash'Kara is definitely worth a visit. I'll be looking for an excuse to return soon!

The bartenders and waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and professional. If I were rating only those things, this would be an easy 5 stars. Then the yellow rice arrived cold and crusty. We sent it back. It came back slightly improved but still not properly hot. After a few bites, we found a piece of plastic in it. The half chicken was a mixed bag. The crispy skin was delicious and well seasoned, but the chicken itself was served only lukewarm. Some pieces were moist and enjoyable, while others, especially toward the end, were noticeably dry. It wasn't bad, but had I known it would be served that way, I probably would have ordered something else. The kitchen issues alone would have dropped this to 4 stars. What pushed it down to 3 stars was the billing. A 20% service charge had already been added, yet the payment process still encouraged an additional tip. If you're not paying close attention, it's very easy to leave 40% on an already expensive meal. Whether intentional or not, it feels confusing and misleading. Even if it's disclosed somewhere on the menu, that doesn't make it customer friendly. Customers should not have to do math or hunt through fine print like a budget airlines to figure out what their meal actually costs. Build your labor costs into the menu price and be transparent. Surprise fees create frustration and leave customers feeling misled, regardless of how many disclaimers are printed. To their credit, they removed a couple of drinks from the bill, and I want to be clear that the staff handled the situation professionally. The problem was not the servers. The problem was a kitchen that missed the mark and a shady billing practice that leaves customers with a bad taste in their mouth at the end of the meal. Great hummus. Great pita. Great cocktails. Great service. Cold rice. Plastic in the food. A chicken dish that didn't quite live up to the hype. Confusing service fees. That's how a restaurant that could have been 5 stars ends up with 3.

Many more had shown up here before we left, however. As it was happy hour, we tried three different appetizers: falafel with hummus, dolmas, and harissa carrots. All were delicious and ended up being rather filling. My wife and I both had the lamb gyros, while my daughter had the chicken shawarma. While the dishes didn't appear to be a huge amount of food, they ended up being plenty. Everything had really nice flavor. As it was my wife's birthday, she got the free baklava for dessert. My daughter and I both thought it was fantastic...maybe one of the better baklavas we've had in a long time. My wife thought it was fine but has had other versions she'd liked better. Service was quick and strong from the start. All food came out surprisingly fast. We'd come here again if on/near Tennyson Street and in the mood for a good Mediterranean experience.

The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the price differential between these two items is about $5 and instead of itemizing our receipts, our waiter just split it in two, overcharging my friend and undercharging me. It seemed very incongruent to the rest of our otherwise excellent experience here.

This venue, as such, reminds me of "East West Grill - Arlington," near Clarendon, in Arlington, VA, just outside Washington, D.C., which my Pakistani-American BFF showed me, over 20+ years ago, around 2005, when we met, and where I took my Sierra Leone-American BFF in 2018, given she's also Halal. The customer service was exquisite, and Aqeel made our experience so hospitable! He told me they do not accept reservations, however to call ahead 15-minutes in advance, and later 5-minutes in advance. He ensured we had a table all set-up for our group of 6 women, and was so very attentive with us, ensuring we had everything we needed, while ordering. In my case, I ordered one of the fresh juices - Lemon with Mint - after seeing nearly every delivery order ordering it, and it was superbly delicious! Then I tried the Cucumber & Yogurt, of course, a favorite. I skipped the dolmas, as I was filling up fast! :-) And I ordered their signature dish: "26. Lamb Haneeth حنيذ لحم," which was superb! The lamb was so very tender, juicy, and a delicious taste, and I'm thrilled to have an ample amount remaining, for my lunch tomorrow! Highly recommend!
