My favorite restaurant!! Please open more hours!!! Later at night and lunch on weekends would be fabulous!!!

This is, by far, the best Lebanese restaurant I've been to (covering DC, Orlando, Miami, and Cinci). Everything here is great, but I highly recommend the Shwarma sandwich, but everything is great (I know I repeated myself, but it bears repeating). The experience begins with fresh out of the oven pita bread, mmmmm. Don't miss out in The mezze since they are also amazing. The walnut dip was my favorite discovery there, but the hummus, cheese and meat pies never fail. I moved from Cinci last year and I miss this restaurant (and Pho Lang Thang in Findley) most of all. read more

Alway a great meal. The three apps I love is the humus, babaganoush & the schankleesh which is feta cheese,tomatoes,onion & olive oil freaking amazing Ask for the garlic whip. I'm in love with this place. I work at a Lebanese restaurant so I know a thing or two about the food and I came in and was amazed. I got the hummus to start which was so incredibly creamy and delicious. Then for an appetizer I got the vegetarian kibbie which had pumkpin and pureed walnuts in it, it was hearty but had a sweet hint because of the pumpkin. I will definitely be getting the kibbie again! Our server we had, Michael, was honestly one of the best servers I've ever had at any restaurant. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and patient in walking us through the menu. Oh and I didn't get dessert this time but I will have to save room for next time because they even have their own house made ice cream. One of our favorite go to spots. The food and service has always been excellent. The owner always super friendly and making and very welcoming. No kids menu but options that work for kids to split or individual flatbreads, but would be nice if just a kids size chicken and rice type meal. read more

WOW!! We ordered so much food and it was all absolutely incredible And the prices are so reasonable that even with 3 appetizers and two meals our bill was only $50. The M'Hammara was something new for us and it blew our minds. It tasted very much like chili, but is made from walnuts and peppers and served cold with pita. You HAVE to try it! Our server Kerry was an absolute delight, so helpful, kind, and fun. We're from Youngstown, OH - 4 hours away... and that's a shame because we would happily eat here every week if we lived locally! read more

Our first visit to Phoenician Taverna and it turned out to be very pleasant. Ambience was really good and people were friendly. Now about the food. I usually eat falafel and hummus whenever I go to any Mediterranean restaurant because that's probably the only option we have as vegetarian but here we had lot of options and our server Zach recommended us to try veggie platter or sampler which has almost 8-9 items so we ordered that and Walnut deep. Walnut deep is a must try dish and I loved it. I wouldn't say I liked everything in my platter because everything was quite authentic and if you are trying it first time it's not quite possible to like every dish but falafel, baba, hummus, cheese pie was really good and salad was good too. I had eaten here a few years ago and it was very good, but last night's meal was bad enough I nearly sent it back. The appetizers, in contrast, were very good, but the main dishes disappointed completely. I had something called Ouzi; the portion was way too small, the lamb was all dried out, and no veggies came with it, only rice. The rice was aromatic but it was all so dry it was difficult to choke down. My wife thought her meal (some grilled meat and vegetable dish) was way too short on veggies too. Her meat was ok though. The appetizers were really good; a crushed walnut dip, sausages in a tomatoey sauce, stuffed grape leaves, all good. Mango juice was good. Service was good. Ambience was ok -- strip mall kind of stuff. 5 people, 30-minute drive, $115. Probably won't go back unless it's appetizers for two and I'm already in the neighborhood. read more

So the wife and I were passing through town and in need of sustenance. I'm a vegetarian. She's dairy and gluten free. We were both able to get AMAZING food that met our lucky needs. The servers were very helpful in steering us away from things that might have ingredients we didn't want. It's a very nice looking restaurant. My favorite place to eat! I love this restaurant. My favorite menu items are the half rotisserie chicken served with rice and garlic whip (I believe Farouj Meshwi), and the starter of Baba Ganoosh. The bread is always fresh and hot, and the service is amazing! The owners are always present and smiling. The rotisserie chicken tends to sell out in the evening, but if you call ahead or ask your server they will reserve one for you. Always a wonderful experience with amazing food. read more

On March 10th went for our 5th Anniversary and I have to day the food here is tremendous. The orange blossom lemonade and ice cream were fantastic. The main course dishes we had blew me away. The only down side was or service we had. Our waiter just gave us a feeling of he didn't care. I saw other waiters walking with smiles and engaging in full conversations , we just had a guy going through the motions. Wow, just wonderful! Celebrated a birthday dinner at Phoenician Taverna last night and it was excellent. We had the Kibbeh Laketeen (Pumpkin Kibbeh) appetizer. Served hot, it was a great combination of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a walnut, onion, pumpkin filling - delicious! The main dish I ordered was the Fatteh Bel: Batenjan (Eggplant) and wow, I've never had anything like it. The flavors and textures were a perfect blend of creamy garlic yogurt, crunchy toasted pita and pine nuts, sweet pomegranate seeds, savory eggplant and warm chickpeas - my new favorite dish! Stopped in for lunch based on Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. I had the veggie sampler and everything was very good. My wife had the roast chicken and she thought it was very good. The decor is definitely more upscale than I expected, including cloth napkins, and the open kitchen is a great to see - nothing to hide! Service was prompt and friendly. I gave it four stars because until I try more dishes, I can't give it 5 stars based on a limited sample. However I have no hesitation in recommending it and will be back to try other dishes. Tried this place today on a recommendation. Was very impressed. We went for lunch but ordered apps off the main menu and ate family style. We tried the chicken shawarma, balata Harra potatoes, the msakaa, and the tabouli. The service is amazing and the chef is so nice and hospitable he's out with the guests asking them how things are and conversing about tradition with his guests.
