Once you know what you're getting you go to the counter to order. I opted for the hummus appetizer with soft warm pita bread. The hummus was delicious. For my main dish I got the build your feast with the salmon, Mediterranean salad and red potatoes. It was so delicious. The salmon was grilled and had a char that I loved. The salad was bright and colorful with a vinaigrette dressing on the side. The red potatoes were great as well. I was too full for dessert. But the baklava looked great. I live within a mile of Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe in Kenwood, OH yet have never been there. The other day, I had a real taste for chicken soup -- I usually get the Chicken Noodle soup from the soup bar at Whole Foods-Kenwood, but they were out -- so I did a search and learned that Taziki's has a Greek Lemon Chicken Soup. I entered an order online, choosing the option that included 2 soft pita chips, plus a sweet tea. Dinner was at my front door in ~20 minutes, carefully packaged and hot, and the tea was cold with just the right amount of crushed ice. The soup was delicious and very filling; it was generously packed with shredded chicken and white rice in a Mediterranean-inspired, light lemony broth. All in all, it was a pretty decent take on the traditional Avgolemono (Greek Lemon Chicken Soup), but I suspect it didn't include the whisked eggs which adds a creamy, even velvety, texture to the traditional version. I would definitely order this again! On the other hand, the pita, while very fresh, still warm and wrapped in foil, was underwhelming... each of the "chips" was actually 1/8 of a small pita round, so 2-3 bites and it was gone; I would've gladly paid a bit more for an entire pita round. read more

Just posted a review about a regional chain that seems to be perfecting the "slow casual" concept. Meanwhile, Birmingham-based Taziki's has the much more common "fast casual" concept well figured out. (This native Southerner knows that Birmingham's got a bigger Middle Eastern community than you'd probably imagine.) There's no getting around it: Cincinnati has a serious shortage of relatively nutritious, reasonably priced, decent dining options. On those scores, Taziki's rings it up pretty good. The wife and I love Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food, and Taziki does a nice job with a generic Americanized version of it. Fresh salads, nice thick lemony hummus, pretty okay grilled meats, solid pita sandwiches. Not only tasty, but mostly pretty healthy eating as well. If you're familiar with these cuisines, it's not nearly the best you've had (and the limited sides are quite disappointing) but it's not at all bad, either. Service when we do go (usually lunch on weekends) has always been very fast. The staff is efficient and pleasant. Atmosphere and music are kinda bland, but it's agreeable enough, and the dining area seems spic-and-span. And the prices are reasonable (and when you find the Clipp Magazine coupons, like a pre-inflationary-era steal). read more

This place has caught my eye because it's like the Panera of Mediterranean food. I had also received some coupons in the mail (and then completely forgot to use them - big sad). Tazikis is one of my go to for a filling and healthy meal to quickly grab. They have plenty of parking and this location even has a drive thru. I've been to this location several times and the staff has always been so friendly. The food comes out pretty quickly. My go to order is a chicken gyro. The bright side of this location is the amount of chicken in each gyro- it's well packed. The downside of this location compared to others is they skimp out on the chips- it's an unsatisfying, barely a handful of chips compared to other locations in the area. read more

I like the idea of a Mediterranean restaurant that is somewhere between fast food and sit down, the restaurant was clean and bright, and the folks behind the counter were polite and attentive. I liked the menu choices but the gyro meat and the taziki sauce were a little bland for me. Some more flavor to these, and I would be dragging my wife here again and again. Since it's close to where we live, we decided to check them out. We went on a Saturday early evening and they were slammed. They were definitely keeping up. You walk up, order your meal (you can get it to go or dine in), they give you a number. When your food is ready, they bring it to you. They have everything on the menu for everyone. Including for vegetarians. From appetizers, salads, gyros, grilled meals, desserts, etc. Their wine and beer list is simple. You can order wine by the glass or bottle. Beers are served either on draft or bottle. We ordered: Hummus dip with soft pita chips Grilled salmon feast w/ red potatoes Chargrilled lamb with basmati rice Rhinegeist juicy truth Story point Pinot Noir Baklava They brought our hummus out first. Then the rest of our meals came out. To be honest, I was blown away with the quality and pricing of the food. My grilled salmon was so delicious, the red potatoes hit the spot , side salad was huge and the Greek dressing was not too tangy/well balanced. My Mr raves about his meal! Finally tried Taziki's and this place did not disappoint. One of the workers suggested the lamb gyro and it was pretty tasty! The Taziki sauce was really good. I also got the cucumber/ tomato salad and that was delicious as well. The restaurant itself was clean and the workers were so pleasant. I came here for lunch after shopping at the nearby trader Joe's. We wanted something light and healthy and my husband found this establishment. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff is friendly. I ordered their beef gyro sandwich and that was good, but nothing too amazing. I did wish it had some more taziki sauce because there was very little in my sandwich. What I really liked was the side potatoes. The potatoes were really good and perfectly seasoned. This is yet another quintessential place that my lady and I had on our "We should try that place" list for a while now. So, per usual, we finally decided to do so, and we were truly impressed by the whole experience. Great food, excellent service, very friendly staff, and a laid back atmosphere. We stopped by on a Saturday evening. The air was ripe with the drool-inducing scent of grilled meat. It was a little busy but not terribly bad. The line for ordering moved pretty quickly. Their menu is loaded with great options, something for everyone from gyros to kababs to salads to hummus dips to baklava and beyond. They have smaller meal options as well as big feast platters. They also have a few beer and wine options, though I was a bit surprised by no Greek beverage choices. The place itself isn't necessarily huge but has lots of cozy seating. My lady and I decided to do it all; appetizer, feast main courses, adult libations, and dessert. We ordered hummus dip with soft pita chips, a grilled salmon feast with red potatoes (for my lady), a chargrilled lamb feast with basmati rice (for me), a 9 oz Storypoint pinot noir (my lady), a pint of Rhinegeist Juicy Truth (take a guess ), and a piece of baklava. We placed our order at the front counter with a very friendly employee. After we placed our order, we were given our drinks, and a number card to place at the edge of our table so they know where to bring it. I was honestly expecting it all to be brought out at once, but no, the hummus was brought out first, so we had ample time to enjoy it before the main courses, and enjoy it we certainly did. It had great flavor and hints of lemon. When our feasts came our, we were surprised by how big they were, especially for the price. Both came with a Greek salad too. Both the salmon and lamb were perfectly cooked. The size of the salmon my lady got would gave cost close to $25 at an upscale restaurant but was only $15.99 here. Every bite of it all was very delicious. And of course, the baklava was rich and decadent. We absolutely enjoyed it too. We were already talking about coming back before we even finished our meals, so it's safe to say we adamantly like the place. Great food, great service, great prices, great EVERYTHING! And being pretty close to where we live is definitely a bonus. We'll certainly be going back again for more. read more

We stopped in for dinner on Sunday night with my niece and nephew. None of us had been here before but my niece said she had been wanting to try it. First thing I noticed is that it was very clean. And we noticed a small bar to right when we walked in. I'm not sure all of what they serve - it looks like they have some wine and my husband did order beer that they had on tap. You order at the counter, are then are given a number for the table and the food brought out to the table when ready. I ordered the Lamb Gyro with added feta, with the Cucumber & Tomato salad as the side. My husband ordered the Lamb Feast and a beer. My nephew ordered the Chicken sandwich, with the side of Red Potatoes and a soda. My niece ordered the Beef Gyro (plain), with Red potatoes side. We all thought the food was pretty good! I truthfully wasn't expecting to like it - thinking that since it was a chain that it wouldn't taste fresh. I'll admit to being pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the cucumber and tomato salad. It was delicious! My niece said the red potatoes were great. We also ordered a couple pieces of Baklava to share. We all thought it was yummy. They are a simple counter service restaurant where you place an order, snag a number and find a nice space to enjoy, we found this location bright clean and welcoming. We walked to the counter and ordered our food without wait. The menus was simple and easy to understand, 2 gyros, and a feta dip with a few drinks. (Fountain or if you desire, they have beer and wines available). We got our feta dip first and it was perfect, the creamed dip accompanied with honey was an amazing blend of sweet and savory. We then enjoyed our gyro of harissa chicken and the grilled chicken. Both well cooked and loaded up for the value. I thought the harissa could have had a bit more spice, but was otherwise delicious with the crunchy lettuce and tzatziki sauce. The potato's we ordered were fine and a nice side to have with it. I was SO excited to try Taziki's as I'm still on the hunt for the perfect Cincy Gyro. Sadly, this is not the place. I'll start with the restaurant flow, it was so nice to enter a new restaurant and not be rushed with confusion of what to do, where to go, how to order. It's set up quite well inside with menus immediately at the door and clearly posted signs. Desserts are marketed well down the ordering line for you to view and (hopefully) purchase. Customer service was nice and thorough. Nothing overly special or terribly bad. Drumroll for the food.... 3 stars. The highlight of my meal was actually my daughter's turkey cheddar melt kids meal. I would come back to order this but that wasn't the point of my visit. I wanted a gyro, and what I got was not good. My personal preference is a lamb/beef mix gyro but this was not on the menu. I ordered a traditional lamb gyro instead and left over half of it for waste. I just couldn't eat it, the meat was terrible, to the point of gagging. I don't write extreme words like this for restaurants, so that's my raw, unfiltered (rare) opinion. The basmati rice was pretty good, packed full of lemony flavor. Kiddo and hubs ordered fresh fruit and it was indeed fresh. Sadly, the pita was dry and untouched. Typically I like a fried up pita with my gyro. The food was very good. Good value for the money. My husband got the Mediterranean salad with turkey - the turkey was really good. We do t know what they marinated it in, but my husband loved it. I got the half soup half salad - tomato basil soup and Greek salad. The soups was really good and had a little bite to it. It was more than enough for dinner. Our friend got a lamb gyro and enjoyed it too. We also decided to try the hummus trias - three flavors of hummus. It had great flavors. We got it with half pita and half chips. Got here at 848p. I had a want for a gyro. I know they close at 9, which generally means you serve until then. The young lady on the grill obviously took exception to my arrival time. Maybe, when she slammed my pita on the counter, that was her way of showing her displeasure; but it could have been her stare-down efforts. Either way, she made it clear, my business was not welcome. I will thank her for fixing my sandwich. The young man who took my order was very pleasant and accommodating. The young man breaking down the drink bar was also pleasant; he even asked if I wanted tea before he removed it. I guess the Kenwood Taziki's need to change their closing time to 8:30p, so that young lady doesn't have to stay until 9. But then, she would probably be upset at the 8:18p customer also. There were no hot sides; but again, I was late. If I could taste the employees individually, there would be (2) 5s and (1) 1. I guess I'll need a note, no service after 8:30p. read more
