Do not eat here. We have ordered several times. Granted delivery is usually quick, the food has always been sub-par. However, 2 specific incidents ensure I will never eat here again. First, they forgot my soda. They offered to go back and get it and did not take the credit card receipt with signature. Never came back. A few days later I get a call from them saying I never paid for the meal at all. I reminded them of the situation. Assured them I paid and it has been debited my account and they still argued. I had to call my bank to call them and confirm it was withdrawn. End of story, pop credit to account. Decided to try them again today. Noted that there was a credit for a soda. Got the delivery. I used to be a "regular" at Phoenix but recently had a very bad experience. I ordered some Sweet & Sour chicken from Phoenix last week and I found ants in my fried rice (YES ANTS!) I had a few other people at work look at it to make sure I wasn't mistaken. I called the restaurant back and was told that they would bring me my money back. About a half hour later I got an other call telling me that I needed to bring the food over to the restaurant and the woman began yelling at me - saying that I am lying and their restaurant is clean. Solid, reasonably priced American palate-friendly Chinese food. It wasn't innovative, but there are lots of choices, the combos are a very good deal, and the service was pleasant. I come here quite a bit even though it's out of the way. I really enjoy their hot and sour soup haven't found any like it in town the rest of the food seems mediocre but very decently priced. You can always order off the lunch menu regardless of what time of day however beware when ordering for delivery they seem to miss part of the order everytime but refuse to bring it back out they are willing to credit you the next time you make a purchase. Service is prompt and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The menu isn't unique at all, but has a large selection and boasts "no MSG." Food has good flavor and spice with crisp vegetables. The steamed rice sticks nicely without being gelatinous. The atmosphere is bright with appropriate music, not bubblegum pop like some other Chinese places in the area. We ordered our meals around 1pm. While ordering, the girl asked if we wanted lunch or dinner. We said dinner. When we received our order, one was a lunch item, one of the sodas was wrong, and one of the entrees was the wrong thing. I don't understand the good reviews, unless we were there on a bad night or they changed cooks recently. The food was hot and the portions a good size, but those were the only positives. It was possibly the worst Chinese food any of the 4 of us had ever had. It was completely bland and tasteless, all of it (main course, rice, soup, egg rolls, rangoon). We ordered delivery tonight from Phoenix. We had an issue with slow delivery once before, but thought we would give them another try. Big mistake. We were told to expect our order in an hour. (They are less than 10 minutes from our home.) We went ahead and placed our order as we were not in a huge hurry and just passed this off as them being busy. 1:20 passed and we called to check the status of our order. We were told it should be there in 10 minutes. Another 40 minutes passed, for a total of 2 hours, before the driver pulled up as we were on the phone with the restaurant once again. If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. As a business we ordered a lunch delivery for a group of us. Upon delivery and unboxing of the food, we discovered that things were not labeled at all, which created some confusion because some had the same order but different levels of spice. We also discovered that some of the containers did not contain the rice that a part of the lunch special. Being professional, we call back to inform the person that answered the phone immediately became hostile when he was informed that some containers did not contain the rice. After calmly and softly explaining the situation he became more irate. Deciding to end the conversation and hang up, the male calls back to the business to scream and yell! This place is a disaster. Ordered delivery a few months ago, took twice as long as quoted over the phone and the order was wrong. Gave them the benefit of the doubt, chalked it up to a bad night. Tonight, we wanted Chinese and wanted it delivered so we decided to give them another chance. Big mistake. Was quoted 45min over the phone. After an hour and 10min, called to check on order and they said they were behind. Half an hour after that, still no food. I give them one last call while the car warms up, half-hoping to see the driver pull into the driveway, preventing my rescue mission. No such luck. 8:00p; I arrive at Phoenix. Two delivery vehicles sit in the parking lot. I walk into the place where there are two people sitting at a booth in the corner of an otherwise empty dining room. I introduce myself to the woman at the counter, and explain my concern. "I like your food" I say. "And you usually deliver promptly, which is why you should understand how disappointed I am" She responds with a tirade about how busy she is (was) and that our food is on it's way. She dismisses me by turning her back to straighten napkins and fill sauce cups. "I expect to be refunded for the food" I say. "I will continue to order from you in the future, but tonight you got it wrong. I would like a refund" I put my debit card on the counter. She asks if I want to cancel the order. I explain that I still want the food. She clearly doesn't understand. "I am in the service industry. When I make a mistake, there are consequences. I must make amends to save the customer relationship. Like I said before, we will continue to order from you but tonight you dropped the ball, and I would like a refund as a show of good faith and attrition" to which she picks up my card and chucks it at me. Horrible junk restaurant in waukee neighbourhood. Waste of time & money. Never take chance. I would rate in negative if there is a provision. We paid for all the food we ordered we did not even touch the food we had to pay and leave the restaurant. Horrible experience. The waiter does not understand the order my wife ordered for mushroom egg foo young as she does not eat meat and seafood. To our surprise the waiter brought shrimp egg young and insisted that we only ordered shrimp. The waiter showed attitude and he was forcing my wife to eat shrimp egg foo young. The waiter near the counter and cook did not pay attention as they were only interested in collecting the money. No one took responsibility and they did not even apologize for what they did.
