This is my 2nd time coming to Muddy Waters but wasn't very impressed with our most recent visit. Our waitress was nice but should've mentioned when we sat down around 3:30 Sunday that the lunch menu would be ending shortly (at 4) to give us time to look over the menu instead of telling us 5 minutes to 4 that we needed to get our orders in now. I ordered an Arnold Palmer thinking they had regular unsweetened ice tea + lemonade instead I could tell they used the canned brisk ice tea with the AP. No bueno! Then I was excited they have some gfree options so I ordered the Rueben with fries...it was okay but nothing spectacular or unique. Hubby and FIL weren't too crazy about the coleslaw with their meals. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Other than my son's favorite thing which was the trains passing by on the bridge - that was our fav part of this restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

From the front, this place looks a little nondescript. A sleepy storefront on Broad Street with a few tables on the sidewalk. Just like any of the others on the street. If you think that it's just another run-of-the-mill small food joint looking to turn a buck, then you're thinking like me, and that's not a healthy prospect. Never judge a book by its cover, for this book has a surprise in store. As you pass through the front door you feel as though you have to take a deep breath and walk sideways to move about. But though the inside is cozy, it's the outside where you want to be. Not in the front on the street, but out back. As you make your way in that direction, you'll enter into an explosion of seating options. The back opens up into a number of different levels, all of which sport spectacular views of the Saint Croix river. I liken it to a flower. You enter through the stem, and the restaurant unfolds into a blossom, each petal an adventure under the sun. The place is a feast for the eyes, as well as a feast for your inside. Our party consisted of three adults and two granddaughters. Our table was located on an upper level looking over the seating levels below. Just beyond that was as train drawbridge spanning the river. We saw two trains pass, and got to see the drawbridge in action allowing boat traffic to navigate their way up river. It was very cool. The menu at Muddy compliments its surroundings. The food as diverse as the viewing angles. Oh sure, there are the usual standbys, burgers and such, but also a variety of sandwiches and salads which are a cut above what you'd expect from a similar establishment. Don't let the front exterior of this restaurant muddy the waters on your decision making. You know that you're going to give it a try, so get along now. Quick Tip: There are two bars at the Muddy. One inside (the stem) and another outside in the bloom. It looks like a perfect place to party and tie one on. I would have done just that only I was with my son-in-law who has limited his intake. Seems he's taking the healthy road and wants to lose weight. I, on the other hand, have long since passed that turn-off. Indulging in his presence would be cruel. I'll return when he's come to his senses, or instead I may come back with his dad. He's as thin as a rail. Plenty of room for corruption.

I love Muddy Waters! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Right on the bank of the St Croix River it's a beautiful view with a fun and festive interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is always great (highly recommend the beef tips for an app!) and the staff are always so friendly and personable.

Location! Assessable from the boat. Pepperoni flatbread was very cheesy. River cruising this is a usual stop

This place is AMAZING! We were headed back home after a night at Treasure Island and were looking…read morefor a good breakfast/brunch. I did a search on Yelp and came across this place that was only a few minutes off our route and it was more than worth the extra 5 mins. The interior was filled with little signs and rubber ducks. For drinks I ordered the Bloody Mary which came with a spotted cow chaser and my husband ordered the mimosa. We spotted they had spotted cow cheese curds and ordered these. They were absolutely amazing and rivaled the Mouth Trap Cheese Curds you get at the Minnesota State Fair. For entrees I ordered the Butcher Omelet with Hollandaise and it was so delicious and packed with fillings. I had no hope in finishing it so we took it home for leftovers. My husband ordered the Three Little Pigs Benedict and noted it was a top 3 benedicts he has ever had (he loves benedicts). I also ordered a cold brew cocktail I think it was the Spiked Salty Caramel and it was delicious and decadent! The entire time we were there people kept stopping in and visiting the bartender to get drinks and it was so fun to see. She was absolutely so fantastic and one of those bartenders you would go back to see over and over. Just a bummer its not close to our house. I would recommend this place to anyone who is over in this area. It is so perfect!

There was a 45-minute wait for a table for two but we snagged a couple spots at the bar and sat down right away. The bartender/waitress was a pure delight. Despite how crazy busy it was, she was pleasant and helpful and efficient. (I'm sorry I can't remember her name.) And they were offering free mimosas to all the ladies which was a nice bonus. Hubby and I both ordered the eggs Benedict with a side of hashbrowns. Everything was perfectly cooked and we were delighted with the crispy hash browns Strangely, we find crispy, perfectly cooked hashbrowns very rarely. And we have breakfast out fairly often. This restaurant nailed it! The prices are very reasonable, and the service was great. Highly recommend!

We stopped and grabbed some drinks, I got a beer and then saw the drinks of the month and had to try the watermelon mule. It was fantastic! Really enjoyed it! The hubby just sipped on a beer. We got 2 small buckets of rocks for $2 and went to the area to throw some rocks. The $1 a bucket was totally a great deal and simple enough without dropping major money on something so novel, but also really great. The service was a bit to be desired as despite multiple bartenders (and not many people) it took a while to get drinks or service, but the quality was great of the drinks.

I like the…read moreidea of tossing rocks at a wall full of fun things to hit vs. tossing an Ax, seems like such a better idea. We got a bucket of rocks to toss at the wall filled with lots of metal objects, a chime, some Tonka trucks. They also had a fun crane that you can pickup blocks and try to stack them up or build something. The venue is an old Hastings building that has a ton of character. The Tap Wall has a good variety of beers and ciders. They change them up weekly. The costs per/ounce seems reasonable. They have the types of beverage broken down by type (IPA/Dark...) which is helpful. The cost/ounce varies depending on what you are getting. We tried several different menu items and all were good - the three different kinds of cheese curds along with the wide variety of wings (both bone in and boneless). They also have a lot of great sauces to add to your wings or curds. I also tried the Caprese flat bread, yum. We also tried a couple of the specialty cocktails, I really like the Honey Jalapeno Marg! The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had.
