So, this is not on the dive bar list when in Victoria, but worth the drive if looking. We arrived ready to thrift near by. However, i have a keen sense of a good dive bar and wanted a cold one. Boom, best dive bar find on this vacation. Felt like our bartender may have been an owner, and she was fun. Luck was on our side with this stop in. Pool, Darts, deck...live music which is punk and rock on weekends. I will be back as this was a fun stop in with a delicious Caesar, and tasty Jack n ginger. Thankful! read more

The waitress was nice and the food was good for the price that your paying. However the kitchen staff must be extremely low staffed and disorganized. We got our meal and hour and a half after we ordered. I would return for the food, but due to a low volume crowd - not sure if this was just a one off night for the service we received. There is darts, Jenga and a couple pool tables. A bit pricey for drinks, but good for a casual night out when your not to worried about eating. read more

I love Phoenix, been coming for years. No frills nothing fancy, classy dive bar. Excellent games and good pool tables. The staff are always charming but wont take your bullshit. Came here a few weeks ago because we wanted cheap wings and happy hour drinks. The website we saw it on listed wine. They do not have wine at all. Our wings were very burnt and when I asked to take them to-go, I was told I would have to pay for the to-go box (which costs more than the wings). I don't recommend this place as Monkey Tree is nearby. read more

The middle aged waitress I had was extremely rude to me, my friends were very confused to why she was being so nasty. I still don't understand what I did wrong.. ordered a water instead of an alcoholic beverage I guess but I was the responsible driver. She did not like that. Also had to go get it myself after waiting 15 mins since she did not want to. I'm not sure if they are going for a coyote ugly vibe or what but it was just a weird experience. read more

Decided to go for Wednesday wing night. Had to go up to the bar to order our wings since the waitress was taking over 20 minutes to take our order. out of 6 orders only 2 came out half an hour later, the other 4 came 15 mins after that. When asked for a glass of water the waitress promptly told us to get it ourselves from the jug up at the bar. Wings were also a 4/10. Hecklers on Gorge Rd is the way to go if you're looking for a cheap bar and grill, especially for wing night. Phoenix used to be a great place, the new employees are awful. Monkey Tree is also a viable option! read more

Omigod. Just don't. A whole table of us arrived for Saturday evening beers and dinner and, regardless of who ordered what, it was a shit show. Almost no one in the place and it took 40 minutes to get the food out... And it was without exception, some of the poorest quality food any of us had ever had. Just bad. read more

The venue is nice enough, and they have decent live music sometimes. Pool, darts, lots of tables is all good. But dear lord, DO NOT order the chicken fingers. 'Reconstituted chicken' doesn't even begin to describe the disgusting foamy interior of these deep-fried monstrosities. If you want to hang out with friends, play some pub games, and grab a drink or two, then Phoenix Bar is fine - but if you get hungry, stop at McD's on the way home or something - anything would be better than this place for food. read more
