Even if you have an appointment (they seem to fill up fast here!) there is always a bit of a wait. We got in our room pretty quickly last time when we were here a couple days ago, but any time we've been here it's been a 2+ hour visit. Staff is super nice though! I didn't realize that they moved to appt only over a year ago, but was still able to make one same night just over 1 hour later. The staff was friendly and there are masks and sanitizer available upon walking in. It's a nice safe area of town. The staff is rude and unhelpful and PCH obviously cares more about profits and young patients. We drove all the way over, because the hours were open to be turned away without an appointment. I've been to this location many times with both of my young children, and every visit has been such a positive experience. The wait times have been low and the staff is always kind, compassionate, and so attentive. They truly take the time to provide a thorough exam, which feels rare these days. Great first-time experience at this clinic, will definitely use again! We scheduled a same day appointment. I even called to see if we could get in sooner and they moved me up and I talked to a nurse about my son's condition who helped guide me until the appointment. The facility is clean and welcoming. With an appointment you still are not seen for at least 1.5 hours after the appointment time and when the visit is over you have to wait even longer to get the papers of where the prescription was sent. I would give zero stars if that was an option. read more

There were two times this past year I needed to take my children in. Both times they had been running a high fever going on days 5( my daughter) day 7 (my 2yo son). BOTH times their temperature was taken inaccurately . The first time with my daughter they said it was under 98.6 and completely dismissed her of any symptoms. Before leaving, I asked for them to take again because she felt extremely hot to me. She was 104. Next, 6 months later took my 2yo son. They took the the temperature under arm. Again, under 98.6 , recorded it.(Again, this day 7 of having a fever.) Because of the last time, I asked for rectal. He was 104.7. Convenient for late hours weekends when children need care but pay attention and advocate for your child. Never too long of wait. Appointment required. They seem to want to dismiss your concerns. read more

I drove 25 minutes to take my baby here who had gotten a scratch on his eye, his eye was bleeding. The front desk lady was very rude and made me make an appointment on my phone without even asking what's wrong. Proceeded to tell me that their first available was 5 hours away when this is marketed as an urgent care. They should seriously market that their appointment based only and not waste parents time. They refused to see my son and didn't even bother to ask what was wrong. HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest taking urgent out of the name because there's nothing urgent about this place!! read more

This one star review is specific to Teresa, the radiology/x-ray technician. Never, ever have I encountered such an arrogant, dismissive, and demeaning health care professional. Having worked in health care, I understand not everyone offers a warm and fuzzy experience. In an urgent care setting I realize it's patients in and patients out, which may come off as rushed or robotic. But Teresa is next level b#tch if you have a question or concern. The lack of interpersonal and communication skills with her arrogance and demeaning attitude left even my kid asking, "what's her problem?" Maybe she's better than everyone else? Smarter than everyone else? Knows everything that no one else knows? Maybe. But it's her crappy attitude and demeanor that has left the greatest impression on the visit to this facility. Maybe Teresa will read this review and ask herself if she would like her family and friends to be treated the way she treats patients. Meanwhile, the other staff (Josh, Gracie and FNP Joyce) were great. For PCH-if this is who you hire, please do better; she reflects poorly on your organization. If she is a contract rad tech, I would not use her again as she diminishes your brand. read more

My 15 month old son has osteogenesis imperfecta. He fractured his leg and I have been in twice now in the last couple of days before we can see our orthopedic surgeon at the main hospital. I got my sons splint wet today and it needed completely redone. All of the staff were beyond kind to us and the two doctors who took care of my son were so gentle and 100% thorough. My son did not cry at all when it was being redone. I told our close friends more intimate details of our experience today and they all had the same reaction: "there are still good people in the world." I'm very grateful for our care here and I'm 100% assured that my son is ok in the time between follow up. read more

We made the horrible mistake of first going to the Banner Urgent Care on 6501 E Greenway, where they were open, but REFUSED to treat my ailing niece because "they had worked 13 hours and wanted to go home". We were in and out the door here, in less time than Ilire at Banner whined about wanting to go home. I highly recommend Phoenix Children's. The worst. Do not take your kids here. Go to Banner urgent care at Scottsdale and Shea or Honor Health at 52nd St. and Shea. The provider was terrible. We waited a long time when it wasn't busy. Then she did a strep throat test on my daughter, forgot the test in the room as I waited 45 more minutes for them to run the test. Went out to the nurses station asked how soon are the test results going to be back. They were all chatting and eating snacks, and seemed annoyed that I interrupted them and told me it will be done soon. Wait another 10 to 15 minutes. Go back out. Is the test almost done? they all look at each other confused. Finally they realize that they left the test in the room on the counter and no one ever ran the test. All around bad. Was there for over two hours on a not busy day because the employees don't seem all that motivated. Then I got the bill and they coded the visit incorrectly to, and now I have to waste more time trying to get them to fix their own mistake. Frustrating to deal with and all around bad care. read more

Ended up here on Thanksgiving night around 9:00 pm and there was nobody there. Our 12 year old daughter had strep throat. Every thing with check in and the nurse was perfect. The 3-star is because the doctor didn't give her the shot. She had a 101.7° fever and in pain. There was only one pharmacy open at that time. So we had to truck a half hour to that to get the anti-biotics. The next day she's feeling even worse and we call the number on the discharge papers and they tell us we can bring her back for the shot, they give them "all the time". Now we're spending the day downtown in a huge wait to be seen because the doctor here didn't want her to get a shot. read more

This urgent care is absolutely wonderful! After the first place we went refused to serve us because they wanted to go home, we found this clinic to still be open and rushed over. Everyone in the office was incredibly kind and helpful. We checked in, saw a nurse, saw a doctor, received a prescription and were sent on our way in 12 minutes. At the same time, absolutely nothing felt rushed. It was a quiet evening, but everyone was incredibly efficient. I will not be taking my kids anywhere else. On Thanksgiving (2022), I had to bring my four month old daughter into urgent care after we had been brushed off by her pediatrician the day before and I knew she needed more help. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and were immediately greeted and registered by Juli at the front. She had us registered within just a couple of minutes and not even 10 minutes later we got called back. Our nurse Lindsay was thorough in understanding why we were there and relayed all of the information and my concerns to our doctor, Jared. Jared actually listened to the videos I took of my daughter breathing weird and wheezing which her pediatrician had just refused to listen to the day before. Jared explained the best course of action in depth and answered all my questions. Lindsay came back with our medicine and went over everything again. Our discharge paperwork was really easy to understand and put me at ease over the holiday weekend that my daughter was going to feel better. Came here for X-rays for my daughter's ankle. Worst experience ever! Arrived right when the opened, waited an hour to get called back, then another hour to see the Dr, got the X-rays and then had to wait another 20+ min for the results. They only have 1 Dr working and the X-rays have to be sent off to radiology at the main campus to be read. It's now been almost 2.5 hours on a school night and we still don't have results back yet. I could have gone to Banner Health and been done by now. The staff is rude, doesn't care how long we have been waiting or that my child still has homework to do. This is the last time we will ever come here. Save yourself the time and go to a regular urgent care. read more

The worst Urgent Care I've ever been to. From the front desk who had a rude attitude to the nurse who was not friendly at all and seemed to not care for anything and the doctor who did not even touch my kiddo with symptoms of vomiting, headache and febrile for 2 days. Discharged with Zofran which helped with keeping my son's fluid intake. The tech was nice tho. Thank you for her. My son ended up with a strep throat after checking his throat with a flashlight myself and called a virtual doctor for his antibiotic the next day. You'd think it's Pediatric 101 to check mouth and ears and lymph nodes to a 5 year old autistic child. I even told her that he has a difficult time expressing what he feels because of his ASD. Go to this urgent care only after you make your own diagnosis and they can write you a prescription! I don't even really write reviews but because I felt ignored and my son uncared for, I had to write something. Hopefully, they read the reviews on here and make a change. read more

This place sucks. All the woman working in there have a rude undertone. They all act like they are annoyed you are there. They had NO ONE in there but me and my baby and they seemed so annoyed I walked in there. Went to the UC last night, they do not follow HIPAA guidelines so be aware, they will ask you your personal info and your child's info out loud in front of a waiting room, but don't say something cause they will give you that look like you're wrong. Not to mention I was told this is my supervisor, asked her and she had no logical answer on why they were doing their check in procedure as such. I wrote down my info and she threw it in the trash not shred. Take my son back to the room not one person including the physician washed their hands when they came into the room. From what I understand they are to wash their hands in-front if the patient they are caring for. With all these new viruses coming about hand washing should be a no brainer. The X-ray tech was great very friendly and nice. Other than that, I would be cautious about your personal info. read more

We took our daughter here very lethargic and hyperventilating. We thought she was having heat issues and the lady at the counter said sorry we can't see you for at least 2 hours. Thank you so much PCH Urgent Care and Dr Anita Bharath! Brought my daughter here a couple nights ago, she had a cough and tightness in chest and trouble breathing. Dr. Bharath spent a lot of time with us- gave us a steroid and an albuertol treatment, sent us home with albuterol inhaler and now 3 days later she is feeling perfect, literally back to 100%. Thank you so much for helping us at night when it seems like all of the illnesses get worse and there is nothing else open. I'm so thank for this urgent care. This was our first time here. I have never actually taken my son to a pediatric urgent care before (we have been to a pediatric hospital though). After this amazing experience, I will never go to a regular urgent care again. The service and the special care that they take with the kids is what every parent hopes for! The lady in the front office (sadly I didn't get her name) was so kind and patient! Dr. Brams (I hope I got that correct lol) is fantastic! Absolutely Believe these yelps. do not be misled thinking the care is the same or similar as the Real PCH. My son was at this location less than 7 minutes from check in to telling us he had a rash nothing they could do. Back into see his real Pediatrician 2 days later with 2 ear infections and needing steroids as the same rash that covered his entire body was an allergic reaction to the virus he had. This Location could not get my son out fast enough. Awful care, and on top of it received a 187.00 bill for awful care and 7 minutes of literally nothing. Brought my daughter here on a Saturday afternoon with a suspected broken wrist. 4 months later we received an $1,100 bill so my child could have the "experience" of being treated at PCH's after-hours urgent care. Which was neither a hospital nor an ER. When we called to ask about the bill (coded as "minor surgery") they told us the price included the ancillary services included in their rooms. Trust me....we weren't at a spa or hotel. We arrived, they took an X-ray, stuck us in an exam room for nearly 2 hours (sans water, books, TV, magazines, toys), never checked in on us, and then sent us home with a wrist brace that I later learned from the orthopedist did nothing to protect/support my daughter's broken wrist. So because we went to the PCH urgent care clinic (instead of the one in our neighborhood) we were billed for an ER visit. Plus another $400 for the doctor looked at her. Buyer beware. read more

Care was fine, but just as another person said, they have issues with billing. They market themselves as Urgent Care, however they billed my insurance as Emergency Room. I ended up in collections for almost $200 and I NEVER received an invoice at all from Phoenix Children's Hospital. Almost 1 year later, and now i'm trying to tell my insurance it was not an ER, and it should have been billed at standard Co-Pay like all my other Urgent Care visits. I'm sure I'll get screwed and not be able to make any changes now that it's in collections and now that it's a new plan year. So lesson learned. The girl at the front desk was great, we were able to be seen in about 5 minutes, and the doctor was extremely kind and patient. Don't go here!!! Just go to the closest hospital - trust me! I walked in with my husband carrying my son who who was covered in blood and screaming and they disregarded us!!! My son had a head injury and a fractured nose which was apparent and all the parents gasped when I walked it but they informed me and when I finally got to the front of the line they told me they would see me in order of arrival, for sure over an hour!!! It's a disgrace that this is a Phoenix Childrens facility. Drove 15 mins to the ER and was seen within 10 minutes!!! When I told the hospital we went here first, they were appalled that they sent us away especially in the condition my son was in. I would SO highly recommend these Urgent Care centers. I have been to 2 run by PCH in my daughter's 6 years, and I've been to a couple of others. The attention PCH gives is beyond compare. I love that the center is totally kid focused. They talk to the kids as well as the parents. Other UC centers do not. My daughter broke her arm at school last week and we took her here for an x-ray to confirm the break. They were kind and gentle with her when she had a panic attack (fear of the unknown) and told her everything that was going to happen on a level she could understand. By the time we left with her soft cast on, arm in a sling, she was happy as could be. She goes back tomorrow for a hard cast and a visit with a pediatric orthopedist. The first time I took her in (East Valley location) she was 2 and had to have a pretty invasive test. They were kind and gentle, they gave her a book to keep and they tried to explain to her what they were doing. If you have kids, and you have an UC need (an you WILL have a need), go to one of the PCH UC locations. read more

Came with my daughter this evening she was suffering from an ear infection. Front desk attendant was rude and seemed she could care less for anyone visiting the office. Unfortunately, with no insurance the self-pay fee was $245- that's the most ridiculous amount! Avoid this place at all costs! I took my son because he fell, I went in shaking because I didn't know what to do, there was 3 people waiting there and I asked the lady what is the waiting time and she said it's a 4 hour wait so someone else came and asked and she told the lady oh it's 20 minutes .... I mean was she being racist or something .... Then we went in ... my mom and sister went with me and the lady said oh no only 2 people so I told my mom to go with me and the lady said oh no she can't go in ... UPDATE July 7, 2020 - As you can see, PCH did the "disingenuous reach out" thing. Just to see what would happen I did email both of the addresses they posted here. After receiving no response to my first email, I sent a second. I received an email back from Amanda Bjorna. Instead of just including the info in her email, she simply emailed me with a request that I call her to discuss. So...I did. Multiple times. I left messages - by phone and via email. To date she has made no effort to respond...and she's a "supervisor." Disingenuous at best, PCH...simply checking boxes. What a huge disappointment. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because I have had 2 previous experiences here that went fine. But this past weekend was unacceptable. My child had split open his chin, and when we walked in, all they were worried about is whether we had masks on. We asked how long it would be, and according to them we were up after one other child but when I asked if we had time to quickly check out the toy store next door (to cheer up my wounded child) she sternly said she could not give me an estimate. So we sat in the waiting room where they have a security guard for some strange reason, and 45 minutes later I heard the same front desk attendant tell another woman who came in that it would be 2-3 hours to be seen. So I walked up and said, will we be seen soon? And that's when she told me they were having technical difficulties in the back and it would be 2 more hours!!! How long did she know about these technical difficulties? Did she not think I deserved to know that we went from being "up next" to waiting at least 2 more hours?!? Totally disrespectful. My poor child was bleeding all over his mask & they thought he could just sit and wait a few more hours when we could have already been to another urgent care and had his stitches by the time I realized we would be sitting there 2 more hours. Maybe they didn't want patients going elsewhere for financial reasons but this just tells me they do not care about patients. I can't say anything about the doctors since we didn't get seen, we went to the NW valley location and had a great experience. I will never return to the Scottsdale location after this, and prior to this I recommended it to people and I regret that I did. read more
