Lost my insurance last April. Five days ago I woke up grinding the crap out of my tooth. Couple days later, ran the marathon on Sunday by the end of it my tooth hurt so effing bad I was crying. Couldn't sleep couldn't recover from running 26.2 miles, in so much pain. Up all night called at 7:30am to see if they could see me. Susan the office manager proceeded to be mad at me for not cancelling an appointment last April 2019 and that I owe $100!! I'm crying in pain and that's what she says. Okay cool. She says that was the tooth you were suppose to take care of last year and then proceeds to give me a lecture. Haven't slept can't eat and just finished running a marathon... no sympathy. She was rude. I asked if I could be seen today I'll pay any balance and she said well since we don't know what tooth it is... I said you just lectured me about not fixing it last year.. oh okay can you come in in 20 mins. I did. She was rude when I got there. Caught her and the Dentist talking about me while I was around the corner. He wouldn't give me any pain meds. Said it will only mask the pain... pretty sure he was trying to teach me a lesson..?! Finally ended up at the ER til 1:30am. Went to another dentist when they opened at 9am that gave me pain meds and I slept 13 hours last night. Hopefully the new dentist can pull it on Friday. I definitely hope you choose another dentist or just make sure you are not human and don't make a mistake by missing an appointment or losing your insurance or anything else us humans do cause we are not perfect. I am not perfect. Only God is and I truly needed help and didn't get it here. Won't ever go back.

I am glad I did, because it was a good reminder why I chose this practice in the first place. I originally chose to go here by doing my due diligence and reading into the business and real life reviews, I really spent quite a bit of time vetting where I would go to change my smile permanently. This practice checked all of the boxes. They are very professional and kind. No pressure, no telling you that you need more than what you're asking for, they let you make your decisions and provide transparency with pricing. They don't send you automated spam texts for years after visiting and they treat people fairly. I'm very happy with Dr. Tenney's level of expertise and service-minded support. The office staff, dental assistants, neat & clean office and RESULTS are what has made their reputation so great. It's not too good to be true to have a perfect dentistry when you want perfect teeth, it exists right here. Thanks! See my photos, they speak for themselves. My veneers look amazing. This has been the best decision I have made in myself in a long time.

I actually had fun we laughed the entire time they worked on my teeth. And no I didn't have laughing gas. Dr. Schuerman has to be the coolest hippest most caring dentist I have ever met. She took her time, she explained what she was doing, she checked to see how I was doing. She gave me three shots and not one of them hurt. She was very professional. I would recommend her to everyone I know. The people at the front desk are amazing. Very caring and very nice. I love going to Desert Smiles.

The price was actually average but the dental work and followup were extremely problematic. The following is my email regarding the problems following my temporary crowns. I later discovered the website email address was not operational. Message to Dr. Rao, I left a message this morning (Saturday October 21) regarding my discomfort and problem with my temporary crowns. I assumed you would have an emergency number to reach you even though your office is closed. (It's very unusual for a medical/dental professional to have no after hours contact information). I had my temporary crowns done on October 11 and paid for them and the permanent crowns in advance as you requested. This has not been my usual payment experience. I returned on October 18 to have the temporary crowns smoothed as my tongue was irritated and had developed ulcers from the rough texture. Your assistant did most of the work. I started to explain to you how my bite was now off and my mouth felt out of alignment. You didn't appear to be concerned and no effort was made to rectify this situation. Observing my bite, it's apparent that the temporary crowns on the lower right side are higher, wider and unevenly matched to the bottom teeth on the left side. I have researched and discovered that temporary crowns should be adjusted so that the patient's bite is comfortable or if necessary, redone. I haven't been able to eat solid food for the past 10 days and my tongue is still irritated by the rough texture of the crowns. I'm very concerned that my permanent crowns will also be a poor fit. I need to have the temporary crowns adjusted to be the same height and similar width as the teeth on the other side of my mouth so that I am able to chew comfortably. I am unable to chew properly on the left side since I am missing a top tooth. My permanent crowns appointment isn't till November 8. I would appreciate having this dental problem corrected as soon as possible. Dr. Rao responded on Monday to the phone message I left on Saturday concerning my distress. He was apologetic and had me return again for another adjustment. He works on several patients at the same time and at one point needed to be reminded what we were working on. The permanent crowns were finally applied and the numbing needle was incredibly painful. My lips were horribly swollen for days as the extreme numbing lasted for hours and made me unaware that I was chewing on my lips, when eating. Finally the crowns were done and I was able to chew comfortably. The next problem was reimbursement from my Medicare insurance. Dr. Rao had said initially that as a courtesy he would fill out the paperwork. He sent a pre-approval but neglected to follow up with a completed and signed itemized bill. It's been almost 3 months and after hours of conversations with United Healthcare, I received a statement showing a $1000 reimbursement allowed. The paperwork included a signature required by the dentist and his filling out a form. I emailed the paperwork to his office and I spoke with his office representative Anna, who advised me not to pursue the payment because that would delay my getting reimbursement (?) She advised me to wait a few more weeks and said Dr. Rao was informed about this situation. I've had a lot of dental work done by different dentists over the years but this has been an unusually frustrating experience.
