We had a plan to eat Sushi for lunch. THANKFULLY, They were closed and so we went here and I am GLAD! The atmosphere was homie. The staff was nice, constantly checking if we needed anything. We got to sit upstairs! The food was Amazing. I have had pho at other places and never have I enjoyed the pho like I did today. The broth had flavor and richness to it. Okay pho but good value. My friends and I stopped by for dinner Friday night on our way to Yosemite. We arrived around 8 pm and there was a short wait of 10-15 minutes. The three of us shared an order of the chicken wings ($9.50). I personally wasn't a huge fan, as fish sauce was one of the sauces used in the glaze, so it was a little pungent. For my main, I get #21 - seafood noodle soup with rice noodles. The medium is $9.95 and the large only a dollar more at $10.95, so even though I wasn't that hungry, I opted for the large. I wasn't super impressed though...the broth tasted bland and I ended up having to add a lot of salt to it. Even then it was just okay. The rice noodles clumped a bit together. While their is a long wait for sitting, I can't help to notice is because the food is fresh and comes out smelling amazing. The people here are great and the food was honestly delicious. I've been here a handful of times and have never had anything to say until today. The food is good. Service has always been fine. But today, at lunch time, my son and I had a crappy experience. I ordered my son's pho with no onions. I specifically said "no onions or any of the other herbs that come in it". The first time his pho was brought to us, it had onions and the other herbs (maybe cilantro or parsley?) in it, so I politely sent it back. Several minutes later, his pho was brought back again and this time the onions were removed but it seemed like they actually added even MORE green herbs. Lol. So, I was annoyed this time. When the waitress was bringing his pho back this second time, I could tell she knew it was still wrong but would rather argue with me than the cook. I was visibly annoyed but I just said I would remove the stuff myself. She just stood there and kept asking me over and over again like a robot if we needed anything else. No apology, no reaction, just like a robot. My son and I finished up and got up to pay. Still nothing was said. Just an awkward transaction and we left. Here's what gets me. My 11 year old son told me when we got in the car, that as we walked out the door, our waitress mouthed "BIT*H" to another employee and pointed at me as we were leaving. Girl, if you see this, GROW UP and GET BENT. I'M a "BIT*H?"? Really? You brought our food out wrong twice, I solved the problem myself AND still tipped your sorry self. Won't be back! read more

Can soup be amazing? The answer is YES! I have had super delicious soup on many occasions and after having it here the other day I am adding Phoenix Noodle House to the awesome-amazing soup list. I had the #24, I believe, whatever the vegetarian pho is that is what I had. Flavors were great and the little side dish of add-ins was pretty good but missing cilantro. Don't cry for me though I took my food buddies cilantro. He may have not liked that too much but he looked like he was nearly done with his noddle dish but my medium bowl of pho still had more damage to be done. Small but clean restaurant. Check them out. Most times when you go get Pho, the chicken or whatever meat you get, is all dry & taste like cardboard. NOT THIS PLACE! Most times when you go get Pho, the broth is bland and taste like water. As a self-proclaimed Noodle Hound, I'm always on the hunt for a great Pho spot and after receiving a recommendation to try Phoenix, I decided to head out the very same day! The actual restaurant is small and tucked in between a bunch of bail bond joints. It's tidy inside though the condiments on my table were a little grimy feeling and that's definitely a turn off. The service was pretty middle of the road--not chilly per se but definitely not welcoming; I did notice that regulars seemed to get a warmer reception but that's still kind of a turn off. The pho was pretty decent though, the broth was nice and silky though I do like a little more depth of color and the spice profile a little bolder but all in all, it was pretty good. The Vietnamese coffee was a welcome pick-me-up on the dreary afternoon that I stopped in. Portions were great and the pricing was definitely fair. I still have more stops on my Pho Tour of the Central Valley, so it's hard to decide now if I'll be back but I certainly wouldn't cross it off the list just yet! read more

First time here. Started with some appetizers- shrimp rolls and wings. Shrimp rolls were nice and crispy but it is a small order if you are a big eater I would get something else. The wings were the biggest surprise. Amazing! I was not expecting that. They were hot and fresh with a tangy glaze and tossed with some grilled jalapeño slices for some spice. But the pho is what we came for and I was not disappointed. The garnishing they serve are a little different. No mint. And something else was missing but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. But WOW the quality of the meat was outstanding. I got the combo pho with all the meats. The tripe just melted like butter. The large is a very big serving and comes with plenty of perfectly cooked noodles. Service was great. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We went on a slow night so it was quiet and there was plenty of seating. They have an upstairs but it was not open because of how slow it was. My second go to when we decide to have some pho in the area. Service was always nice and inviting. A nice hole in the wall restaurant with good food. The restaurant space is very small, but if you don't mind being only inches away from the next customer then it's good vibe. Cost is slightly more expensive compared to others, but I think they also use better ingredients. I just wish they're more consistent with how soft and tender their meats were. 3-stars to be fair for the fact that I came in late in the night around 9PM Friday night. Did not really dine in for a complete full experience. Noticed they were not that busy with only 2-3 tables occupied by then. 2 reasons I stopped by - 1) It opens late pass 9PM, making it convenient for those of us who crave Vietnamese food late at night, and 2) the 4-stars overall business rating shown! Not in mood to dine in - I ordered Pho #2 medium to go! DOWNER they only allow sizes Medium & Large for to-go. I really wanted the small, but had to settle for Medium - which was too much for me. Conclusion - Pho tasted not that great to me. service can only based on my to-go, which was good to experience my order coming out pretty quick - 6 minutes after my order! I left work early yesterday since I was not feeling well. I decided that Pho would be a great addition to resting at home. I ordered the #1 and an order of spring rolls. My order was made quickly, and the service was amazing. The restaurant was clean, and the people seemed to be having a great time. I safely picked up my order and took it home to partake. I mixed all of the ingredients into the broth, and at first taste, I was blown away by all of the elegant flavors. It was everything I didn't know I needed. I had a meh experience here. I don't remember the Vietnamese egg rolls all that well but the gooey sweet sauce they first provided was not my fav. I've never been given a sauce like that for egg rolls. I asked for regular nuoc cham instead (thin, clear, fish sauce based dipping sauce). On to the pho! The large pho tai was presented in the widest bowl ever. It was like twelve inches in diameter. The soup spoon was ridiculously small looking compared to the huge bowl. Unfortunately, the soup was way to sugary for me. The server didn't understand me when I ordered the pho tai. I guess she hasn't heard enough Vietnamese pronunciations of the dish? The restaurant needs a deep clean. They seated us right up against the front window of the restaurant. It was a very warm day and they kept the a/c on too hot. I was sweating even before I started eating the pho. It was uncomfortably hot for the whole meal. Also, the window area was super dusty and could use some attention. They had a cute upstairs area, but it might have been even warmer up there in the summer lol. read more
