I wanted to get a blow dry/out for a picture session and called a few salons in the area. LaMae immediately found me a stylist very last minute :). The salon is clean and everyone was very friendly. Shannon was my particular stylist and she was very friendly and asked what I was looking for. I felt very pampered and she did a great job on my hair! If I ever needed another blow dry/out for a special occasion I would def recommend this salon. Only 4 stars because I felt like it was a bit on the pricy end...but to be fair it seems all of the salons in the area charge the same amount. read more

I get my hair cut and color by Tia! She is awesome and always wants you to look your best! She will tell you if the cut you want will look good or not. Which is a plus for me since I never really know what I want until the last minute. I drive all the way up from the Bay Area to get my hair done by her. So worth the drive!! read more

Jenelle is my hair stylist. I go in showing her what I like, and together we have a conversation of what is reasonable for my hair. I think people get so caught up in forcing their hair to do something that won't look good on their face, isn't for their hair type, or don't understand how expensive it will be in creating the style. For example, I have dark hair. I would love the grey hair style but it would cost me hundreds of dollars if not thousands slowly bleaching it down, or it would kill my hair. So, realistically, grey hair isn't going to work on my hair. At least until it decides its ready to do so on its own. Anyways, back to Jenelle. I love showing her what I want, and together we come up with a plan. Really, she is doing all the hair stylist thinking, but I have had a voice in how damaged I want my hair to get. Sometimes I compromise, but I'm much more willing to compromise than have my hair fall out trying to achieve the impossible. LOVE JENELLE. read more

I met Ashley through our gym. She advertised spray tanning, a fantastic alternative to being in the sun, especially for someone like me who is extremely fair skinned. I thought I would give her tanning a try and 2 years later, I am still tanning with her in the brand new Cameron Park location. The tanning is quick, efficient and very reasonably priced. The tans last for over a week, through shaving and showering and are not orange or blotchy. My skin has a healthy warm glow at a price I can afford. I pay $39 a month for being a sun club member and have yet to hear of anyone offering better prices and quality for tanning than LaMae. I do recommend if you are planning to tan to wear a loose, dark colored dress and flip flops I also find it very convenient that there are a variety of services offered here, including facials, waxing, hair, etc. I plan to try the waxing soon. The boutique is really cute here too. I love the fact that they carry a variety of items, saves me the trip to the mall. I highly recommend LaMae Salon and Spa especially for tanning. Ashley does an AMAZING job and I love how she is able to accommodate me on short notice, or she seems to squeeze me into her already busy schedule somewhere, somehow. Not only am I pleased with the results and the work that Ashley does, I LOVE the fact that she makes me feel so comfortable and she genuinely cares a lot about her clients and the service that she provides for them, and it shows!! LaMae Salon has been my savior. I always get personalized service, awesome cuts, color, highlight and lowlights from Pat. Stylists are friendly. Ashley does awesome spray tans for me and eyebrows. They are very knowledgeable about skincare. Havnt done the teeth whitening, permanent makeup or massages yet though. I find cute stuff in the boutique area and appreciated the cofee and snacks when I'm there. Great people and easy on/off location. The owner is a wonderful lady, creating a positive environment for her stylists. Comfortable, nice, relaxing. They use quality products. Amanda is my stylist. She fixed my hair about 4 years ago, which was 3 colors and ruined by another stylist in a "high end" very expensive salon (I chose to cut off several inches in order to speed up my one year restoration, it was that bad!!!). She took the time and was very patient. She gave me the exact the style I wanted, my texture came back to smooth and healthy. My hair is more vibrant than ever! That is hard to do with Platinum. I still do 2-3 colors. It is outstanding every time. I am constantly complimented on my hair. This girl keeps me young! Very sweet and personable. Fair prices. read more
