Absolutely the worst medical experience of my life. Dr. Adam Farber should not be allowed to interact with patients -- especially injured ones. During an IME for my shoulder injury, I clearly told him I was in pain and that raising my arm could cause dislocation. He ignored me, made a sarcastic comment ("It won't dislocate from this angle"), and forcibly moved my arm, which caused so much pain I cried in the exam room. He then mocked the fact that I take Tylenol for pain, saying, "Oh that's odd you take that... makes sense the pain doesn't get better." His tone was completely dismissive and unprofessional. As I sat in tears from the pain he caused, he coldly said, "The exam's over. You can leave now," and walked out -- no compassion, no follow-up, nothing. A staff member named Rachel Niemeyer witnessed the entire appointment, and even she looked uncomfortable. I left feeling violated, belittled, and worse than when I walked in. I sat in my car in tears and found dozens of reviews describing the same exact abuse -- Farber hurting people during exams, mocking their pain, and treating them like liars. Avoid this man at all costs. He doesn't listen, he doesn't care, and in my case, he actively caused more damage. If you're being sent to him for an IME, protect yourself and demand someone else! read more

I came here based on a referral from a former patient. Joe checked me in and also did my X-rays. He was very friendly, personable, helpful and patient as I wasn't sure what information was needed. After the X-rays were taken, Dr Adam came into the room, introduced himself and was on time. He did a thorough exam. He had me come to look at my X-rays and explained everything in terms that I could understand. He was friendly and very much to the point. After determining that my X-rays were clean (thankful) he said the next step is an MRI to determine the amount of damage to my meniscus. He even showed me the different addresses of the imaging centers and the ones he recommended due to the type of imaging offered. I look forward to my follow up appointment and feel confident with possibly having him scope and clean up my knee. My friend who was a patient had a very good experience with Dr Farber, as he needed surgery. Now the next step..... read more

While I respect other people's opinions I don't agree with some of the other reviews. I base my review on over 12 visits to him over a 20 month month period AND after 2 knee surgeries. (Yes! My body is a mess! ). Dr. Farber is outstanding doctor with great technical skills and a strong reputation in the medical community. He has always been warm, friendly, caring and very professional. His office staff is also top notch. I would recommend Dr. Farber without hesitation. read more

I arrived with my son (who was scheduled for a Workman's Compensation peer review appointment.) We arrived more than 1/2 hour early. He was checked in and taken back to see Dr. Adam Farber. Even though I was there acting as a patient advocate, which is a basic patient right, I was not allowed to be present during the appointment. Very little was looked at and according to the patient (my son), the visit was more of a question and answer that a review. Dr. Faber made it a point of not letting him add important information, and only to go over things like 'are you seeing another Dr, when were you treated by the VA (He has never been treated by the VA), etc. The 'exam' took less than 15 minutes. When my son was departing, he asked for a copy of the report, and was advised by front desk staff, that he was not allowed to be given that, and that only his Workman's Compensation case worker was allowed. (Also a violation of basic patient rights.) In the end my son, who has been trying to navigate a Workplace injury, was treated with total disregard to getting needed treatment, or complying with basic patient rights. My experience with Dr Farber and his staff was nothing less than A+! After I made the appointment I must have written the date down wrong and went in a week early. The friendly office staff figured out a way to get me in so it wasn't a wasted trip and wasted time that I took off of work. Dr Farber came in to see me within 5 minutes of getting my paperwork filled out. He was very polite, straight to the point and very professional! I felt very comfortable with his diagnosis and plan of treatment. I would recommend this office and doctor to anyone in need of his expertise! Two thumbs up in my book! read more

This doctors office sent me a bill, the bill had a due date on it, and they sent me to collections before the due date. I called to complain, they told me that they would resolve it and call me back. They never contacted me again. They also had an attitude when I spoke to them on the phone. read more

Steer clear of Dr Farber. This Dr has no bedside manners. I see here from another review that I am not the only patient that has experienced outright rudeness from Dr Farber. Typically a Dr walks in and politely introduces themselves with a smile, eye contact, and a handshake. Not here....Dr Farber walks in and as his back is to me, he says he is Dr Farber and sits down at his desk. With no smile, he begins to ask me questions. When I do not answer the way he wants me to, he begins to speak over me in an irritated manor. This happens on several occassions. I ask him a few questions and he is curt and short with me. Not only was this visit the anthesis of care, the Dr was nothing short of one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. If you are seeking care, I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I met with Dr. Farber today and had an x-ray and examination. I found the staff very courteous and Dr. Farber as well. He even noticed that my birthday was coming up and wished me an early birthday. The reviews that I see about his staff and the Dr. himself being rude, not listening and talking over them were not experienced by me. I arrived the 15 minutes early since it was my first visit to the Dr. and they got me setup right away. The x-ray and examination and discussion were nearly immediate. I did not wait at all and I could not disagree more about reviews stating he and his staff are not professional. I have not experienced the treatment yet because I am scheduling my MRI, but will certainly update my review once I have moved forward. So far so good. I am very impressed. read more

After a couple years of therapy, i switched to Dr Farber and went ahead with surgery on my shoulder. My rehab is just completing a little over 7 months later. I can throw a baseball again with velocity and I am so happy with the results. I've sent others to Dr Farber and the results have been positive. He always asks if you have any more questions once the appointment is complete and personally walks you to the reception desk. He's a great doctor who does excellent in surgery. Very happy with where my progress is, followed his advice word for word. read more

I've been to Dr. Farber multiple times over the past 18 months with shoulder pain. After 2 cortisone injections, we opted for surgery as a final solution. He was very patient and detailed in describing the surgery and projected recovery time. My surgery was very easy and within 2 weeks I was back at the gym and playing golf. His staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, even when I screwed up two appointments and showed up at the wrong time. I guess some people just don't appreciate straightforward and professional. read more

I have to preface this with the fact that I haven't even seen Dr. Farber yet. However, the appointment making experience left a VERY bad taste in my mouth. While I was on hold with the front office, the doctor's medical assistant called me on the other line. After we agreed on what was to happen, I hung up. Shortly there after my phone rang again and it was the front office girl who I had spoken with earlier. She contradicted everything the medical assistant told me, and evidently things were definitely not going to proceed as I had been told. If there is this much confusion, and chaos before I even stepped into the office, I am very concerned about taking my 16-year-old in for any procedures whatsoever. I'm just very disappointed, and disheartened, and feel as though this office doesn't really care. IF YOU HAVE AN ORTHOPEDIC INJURY, GO TO THIS DOCTOR! I have to feel with the previous bad reviews I read here, the problems are probably the patients and not the doctor. Over the past few years, Dr. Farber has repaired a grade 5 shoulder separation on me, and two meniscus tears. I thought the shoulder would never work right again, but now I can do everything I did before I messed it up. My knee injuries were repaired well enough that I was able to train for and run several marathons since, and qualify for the Boston Marathon. My wife's ACL injury was repaired so that she could continue running and skiing. Judging by some reviews, his demeanor may not be to some peoples' liking. Dr. Farber is thorough and honest about options and prognosis. Maybe some people just didn't hear what they wanted to hear. His staff is just the right combination of professional and friendly. Any one star review you may read here is total BS. After years of working with this doctor and his staff, and knowing others who have worked with this doctor and his staff, I would guess that the specific complaints in these one star reviews here are made up. The situations never happened the way the reviewers wrote them, and the reviewers should be ashamed of themselves for posting them. read more

I went to this egregious excuse for a doctor when I had a recent shoulder injury. I unfortunately went back to him two years later because my side (near my armpit and ribcage) was really hurting so since he already had my records for my initial injury I thought I might as well see him again for these new symptoms. Big mistake. They moved to a different location and the office was nice. Joey, the M.A., was courteous. When the "Doctor" came in to see me, I tried to explain to him my recent issues and he repeatedly kept talking over me when I was trying to tell him my problems. He asked if I got an MRI and I said yes and that he was the one who read me the results. He then had the audacity to say that I did not get an MRI and that his "notes" claimed that I told him I did not want to pay for it. So he asked where I got them and I said that I had no idea, it was two years ago. I told him that there was significant swelling on my left side and he instructed me to take my shirt off. He then started feeling around the area and said that he didn't see anything nor feel anything. I assured him that there was swollen tissue and he said and I quote, "No, that's just fat." I was so dumbfounded at this guy's lack of manners and lack of professionalism, I didn't even know how to react. And to give those a visual I am not fat; I'm not skinny either. I'm 5'11" and weigh 196. He then ushered me out then went up to the M.A. and asked if there was an MRI done and lo and behold there it was in the computer! I said, "I told you." and he didn't even have the decency to apologize for his negligence. He said, "We'll see what the pain specialist says and go from there." Yeah, that would be the day. Please, I write this review in order save you the stress and anxiety of dealing with such an odious individual. Bedside manners is very important, I believe, when you are a physician. read more

I would give zero stars if I could this place is disgusting. The people that work here are horrible. My husband scheduled an appointment with them and when we showed up they said it was the week before. My husband stated "I think that's impossible because I called on the 8th" They called to the back and said "it's fine we can squeeze you in" after the front desk lady stated that a disgusting man in scrubs walked up and in the most condescending way stated "you called on the 7th not the 8th just so you know...." When I asked him why this was necessary to state he began to give me a ridiculous excuse ending in me saying forget it we will take our business else where. I recommend Dr. Cucchetti at Arcadia Orthopedics his staff is much friendlier and judging by the other reviews so is he. read more

this man is a horrible doctor . Since I was married to a wonderful physician and have seen many in my life , I can easily recognize a man with no social skills in medicine. He suggested to my marathon runner daughter that her months of knee pain could be imagined and she should just start running. She had been already diagnosed with a knee injury from an MRI. As a former college runner she was certainly used to running with discomfort. Stay away from this buffoon. read more

The office staff was super friendly but Dr. Farber is by far the rudest and most egotistical man I have ever met. I spent a whole 10 minutes being grilled by him and evidently I didn't answer any question the way he wanted because he snapped and belittled me with every response! I went to him for a second opinion on my shoulder that I've already had 2 surgeries on because we have mutual friends and I was told he was really good....Well he didn't believe that it was causing pain and proceeded to JERK my arm over my head. My P.T. and regular doctor had never done anything like that!!! It was so painful my eyes instantly watered and my legs came off the table....but he told me there's nothing he can do for me and I should see a psychologist?!?! I have never been so humiliated and offended! He then proceeds to ask me several times in a snide tone "Do you need something from me?". I told him, "No. My doctor just wanted me to get a second opinion." I then walked out of his office while he was still talking. I don't know if Dr. Farber was assuming I was there for pain medication or had some other motive for going to him but it was a horrible experience. I will never go back to him! My regular Orthopedic Doc is kind and knowledgeable. The only reason I went to Dr. Farber for his opinion was because my doctor was being thorough. I never thought would drive 3 hours to be told my shoulder problem is psychosomatic...but at least my boyfriend thought that was hilarious! Just do yourself a favor and go to a doctor that will show a genuine concern for you, even if they can't help you, at least they care. read more
