Do not do business with these people…read more A family member asked me to pick up an arch for a wedding and when I arrived to pick it up I was told that I needed to sign the rental agreement for the arch. I explained that I was just the driver and not the actual responsible party for the rental item. They had already paid and had not informed me that I would be signing a lease for wedding arch I was picking up. The sales staff was very rude to me and quite frankly in my opinion they do not have an ethical system of renting out thier items. They bully unsuspecting delivery drivers into signing leases for thier equipment. Here is my story. I was the only one in the family with a truck so naturally I agreed to come pick up the arch for my sister in laws wedding when asked. When I arrived they asked me to sign a lease for the equipment I was picking up. I was not aware I would be the person legally responsible for this several thousand dollar arch. It struck me as very unprofessional and bizarre that they didn't have the party who ordered this item and paid for it sign a lease agreement beforehand and nit the unsuspecting delivery person. If anything the delivery should sign off acknowledging that they have recieved said rental items. Instead the rude and aggressive lady and gentleman at Brookfield Party Rental bullied me into signing. I tried to work something out with them regarding getting the signature from my family member and coming back they very rudely and aggressively told me no that it needs to be the person picking up the item and then told me they were canceling the order when I said I would return back later with thier signature. Of coarse I signed the multiple page fine print leagal document because I didn't want my sister in laws wedding to be ruined. Of which I didn't even have time to read due to thier threats of canceling my sister in laws rental item and unloading it from my truck. They were very rude and have terrible communication and customer service skills. They also are unethical with thier expectation and aproach to getting thier lease documents signed under duress. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. If you do rent from them don't ask someone to go pick up a rental item for you without planning for thier backwards system.

I saw some Yelp reviews about communication with the company - I only contacted them once asking for a install time, and was replied to that they didnt know until 24 hrs before the install date. For argument's sake, let's say that the interwebs failed and they did not receive the email in which we inquired about negotiating on the price. His line of questioning had us with the impression that the personal connection was important to Sound By Design, but I fear that is just lip service. I love that I am able to look back on all of our guests photos! My only complaint were the props provided but I was told it was a coincidence. We specifically told our planner we loved Michael Jordan and that Space Jam is our favorite movie but ended up having props from the new Space Jam and a bunch of Lebron props. We are not Lebron fans so we quickly got rid of those when we noticed. No biggie though. I docked a star because we had paid for specialty lighting after the dinner and we had to track down the coordinator for this because they didn't switch the lights over. The lights were supposed to be multicolored throughout the venue and change to the beat of the music but they didn't start this until a while after dancing had started. We had to actively search for the vendor coordinator to figure out what was going on. We thought the stage lighting was supposed to change too but they kept those lights normal and bright and then eventually changed the rest of the venue's lighting. Overall, I definitely recommend the photobooth but if you have specific props you want, maybe coordinate that better with the vendor. If you choose to hire them for lighting as well, establish a timeline and plan for it so you get the most of what you are paying for without any hiccups.
