For starters, the place is really difficult to find and they don't bother to tell you that they are in a large building up on the 10th floor, and there isn't even a guide in the lobby. I had to stumble around into a bunch of other acupuncture places. By the time I got up to their office, I was totally winded. Because Jane is mentioned all throughout, I assumed she was going to be my acupuncturist. But instead I got paired with another person who seemed less experienced. I knew this from the way she put in the needles, it was extremely painful, so much so that I could only tolerate 2 of them all together. You might think this is because I have low pain tolerance, but that is not at all the case. Just last week, I had acupuncture done in California and a bunch of needles were placed, it was barely any pain. The person who did my placement was very experienced and comforting. So at Olo, I ended up paying $120 to lie there with literally 2 needles on me. The horrendous low back pain issue I came into see was not only not at all alleviated, but made worse by the stress and anxiety this place gave me. As I was lying there, I realized I was getting 0 or maybe negative value out of this, so I buzzed to ask for a few minutes of cupping. I had to buzz many times for the person to finally come in, and she did do a few minutes of cupping. Had I had her full attention and she wasn't working on a bunch of other people simultaneously, maybe she would have also come to the idea of offering me cupping instead of me asking for it while in treatment (if you can even call it that).

But in the end, even paying out of pocket was still worth it. My condition resolved itself in just a handful of sessions and I'm so grateful for their expertise and experience. Each visit had a different treatment approach based on how I was progressing. Everyone here is super professional and informative. The office runs smoothly and everything feels essentially like your regular doctor's office. If you have specific ailments and can't find a traditional doctor or specialist to treat you - or appointments are months away - don't rule out acupuncture treatment here! Your health can't wait!

In less than 4 months I'd say I'm 80% healed. I was diagnosed in November 25th and had very little progress from then to February. The only reason I didn't go sooner was being my neurologist claimed acupuncture did not work and said that with Bell's palsy it's just a waiting game. Everyone is also very friendly from the moment you walk in and meet with the receptionist to the moment you leave. It is also very clean and relaxing. On the first day Peini explained everything to me very clearly what is Bell's palsy why and how it happened, and went over the whole process with me along with giving homework, facial exercises and things to avoid. Clean facility with prompt care and efficient admin. Simple intake form when I arrived (1 sheet)…read more Very brief wait at each appointment although I usually have morning appointments on weekdays. I'm in and out in 40 minutes. Each treatment is about 30 minutes of actual needle time. Afterwards I pay my copay at the counter, make my next appointment and we're done until next time. You only need to expose the treatment area and the staff asks you what you want to work on when they walk you to your room. There is relaxing music playing as soon as I enter the treatment room. After a very brief wait the doctor comes in. The actual acupuncture is a little painful when he places each needle. Then a small heater is directed over the treatment area, the lights are dimmed as the doctor exits the room and I try to relax for the next 15 minutes until the doctor comes to check on me. Then try to relax again for the next 15 minutes until time is up. Usually the doctor asks me how it felt as he removes the needles then tells me when to come back. There's a biohazard bin in the room that he puts the needles into. The staff here is easy to work with. They are helpful and quick. It's easy to schedule and reschedule appointments when needed even if its a little late notice. No one seemed upset or annoyed when I rescheduled an appointment or needed to check my calendar before booking. Last time I went in my phone was at 1% battery. When I asked if they had a charger the lady I spoke with reminded me to ask for it before I left then told the other staff members where she was charging my phone in case I asked someone else for my phone back. I've been here 6x now, ~2 days apart each visit. The doctor said I would need 5-6 sessions to fully treat and he has been using more needles each visit hoping to speed up my healing. The first two visits it seemed like it was helping but after the 3rd visit I woke up with pain in my ankle every morning. The 4th visit it got better, the 5th visit was like the 3rd one, the 6th undid some of the pain from the 5th. I don't think my ankle is any stronger/better than before I went but no treatment is a guarantee. It's also been over a year since I first injured my ankle. Perhaps coming in sooner would have had better results. I enjoyed the time here although it did not fix my issue. I would try acupuncture again in the future. I am inclined to give this spot another try for a new issue since they have so many good reviews but I'll decide when that time comes.
