Great little Vietnamese place. I'd go back....even though there is room for improvement... I'd go back because it was tasty and the service was spot-on. Couple of things right off the bat. Please don't bring out the food one by one. Most people have a tendency to want to enjoy their meals together. So, bringing out one dish nearly 15 min before the other is....well...not great. If you're going to put a Shrimp Salad on the menu don't cut the shrimp in half...makes you look cheap as an establishment. Also it's good to... you know....de-vein the shrimp (see pic.) The Beef Pho was nice. It tasted hearty, homemade and authentic. Did lack salt and even with the seasonings on the table...that kick was missing slightly. The Mini Pate Baguette was a bit of a let down. I was expecting more Pate....there was barely any there. Almost none (see pic.) The Baguette itself was very nicely done...crispy. The service was beautiful. Friendly. Attentive. Consistent. Professional. I Love Asian food. This place quenches that crave. With a few things corrected this place could be the Rockstar of that neighbourhood.

Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 We ordered Pork & Prawn Spring Rolls (2) | Cha Gio, not greasy and tasted so good. Also ordered Phonatic Specialty Noodle Soup | Pho Dac Biet, which has short-rib, sliced beef brisket, rice noodles, and was soooooo good. highly recommended.

I passed by this place so many times that I finally decided to try them, and it was a great decision. The place is charming but big enough to host a good amount of customers. The staff was friendly and efficient, especially during lunch time. Before I ordered they offer some warm and delicious tea, then I ordered specialty noodles soup that feature most of the items that other Vietnamese restaurant but they added one stand out item: the short rib with the actual bones and it has plenty of meat on it. I also wanted to try the mango sticky rice for dessert, as well as the mango smoothie, but I got so full with bow of pho by itself.

Heard about this place somewhat recently from a foodie group that I follow and was looking forward to trying it. The decor is nice. They have these colourful lanterns hanging all over the place, both outdoors and indoors. Gives it more atmosphere than any of the other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to on the North Shore. There were some decent dishes here but overall, I have to say that I was really expecting more from this place. I think it was a bit too hyped up on the foodie group. My daughter ordered a Lemongrass Chicken with Vermicelli noodle and shared it with her dad. The order came with two pieces of Lemongrass Chicken and they ordered an additional third piece to supplement. Really wasn't necessary as the portion was huge. The original two pieces would have been plenty enough for them both. Our daughter tends to be quite sensitive to grease and this dish really greased her out. For myself I ordered the Vegetarian Vietnamese Omelette Crepe. This is kind of a like a Vietnamese style lettuce wrap. They gave several huge leaves of lettuce which I was supposed to use to eat with the omelette crepe part of the dish. I am a bit sensitive to grease myself and I too felt greased out by my dish. My stomach was feeling a bit weak for the rest of the day. There was a Green Papaya Salad with prawns which was quite refreshing but I wish the restaurant had tossed the salad a bit before setting it down in front of us. There was supposed to be mint in it; I didn't taste any mint. I think my husband got all the mint while I got all the basil. There was a sharing platter that was ordered for the table. I did enjoy the squid and prawn from this platter, and the Vietnamese coffee drinks were pretty good too. Other people at the table ordered bowls of hot pho & noodles, and there was also a Bahn mi sandwich. I think those dishes were satisfactory. Overall, I think a lot of the food here was a bit too greasy for our family.

    Pork belly banh mi

I didn't know about this place before and wanted to order banh mi so I tried jet out. Ordered one chicken and one pork belly. The pork belly is not really like fatty pork belly but I can tell you the flavour is fantastic! It is a sweet pork and so juicy and just the right amount of texture and sweetness. Any more and it probably would be too sweet. Really loved it. Looking forward to coming back and trying other things.

    Dog friendly undercover patio!

They have a dog friendly undercover patio and also offer chicken pho! The service was very quick but we did find the pho to lack a bit of flavour. That being said, still amazing to have quality pho on the North Shore and a place we can bring our dog!

As usual, I'm late to the party. I've heard about Phnom Penh…read moreand its famous chicken wings ever since I moved to Vancouver, nine-ish years ago. My fellow Yelpers raved about this place when I first moved here, and my kid came here with her school pals 5-6 years ago and also raved about the wings. It's been on my list to come here forever - and last night, finally, I did. It did not disappoint. My kid warned me, there'll probably be a line up waiting to get in (they don't take reservations here. I checked), so we decided to go at an off-time and get an early dinner, around 5pm on Friday. We walked there and, miracle of miracle, there was no line and we got seated right away. (Granted, we got the last vacant table in the place, and when we left after our meal, there already was a line of people waiting to get in). Food-wise...wow. I am NOT one for adventurous eating, so there were dishes on the menu I couldn't comfortably order (I wish I could, but hey, I'm better now than I used to be!). Still, there was lots for me to choose from. And first and foremost, I HAD to try the famous chicken wings. And I can honestly say, they were the best I've ever had: SO SO crunchy and crispy on the outside, and hot and moist on the inside. OMG so so so good. I can't speak highly enough of these! My kid ordered the butter beef. It was tasty and soft ("like butta!"), and the marinade was lovely, but personally, I couldn't get over the...rawness and redness of the meat and juice (which looked like blood to me). For fellow non-adventurous eaters out there, this might not be for you, despite how flavorful it tasted. It was just hard for me to get over how it looked. (I know I'm in a minority here. This dish is one of their most popular and asked-for dishes). We had the garlic dry spare ribs. I love spareribs. These were delicious but a tad too salty and greasy. I brought most of them home and had them today for lunch. I gotta say, they were so much better for me today: less salty, and I blotted off the excess grease. Delicious! My kid ordered a "small" sweet and sour soup with prawns, and wow, it came in a huge black cauldren. I can't imagine ordering a large size. Anyhow, this soup was a stand-out soup - especially for my kid who said she had dreams about it all night (lol)! So complex in flavors - spicy, sweet, savory, chock full of prawns and sprouts and lotus shoots and pineapple chunks and and other delicious stuff.... For me, it was a wee tad too spicy, but wow, even I thought, this is a special soup. So delicious and warming. 10/10. Our servers were prompt and impressively able to efficiently tend to a full house of diners. They got it all down to a science here. One issue of note: my kid had to use the washroom at one point and she left for a very extended period of time. I actually thought at one point that something had happened to her or she was ill, she was gone so long (VERY unlike her). When she returned, she told me it was "quite a hike", around the back of the restaurant and up a flight of stairs, too. I only make note of this in case anyone has mobility issues, know that the bathroom will be difficult (or impossible) for you to access.

I only hear great things about the wings here and being a lover of fried chicken I made it a point…read moreto stop here on my quick trip to Vancouver. We came around 4pm so there was no wait but by the time we left at like 5 there was already a line forming outside. We got the wings and veggie fried rice, and it took a bit of time for the food to come out but that didn't bother us. The portion for the fried rice was MASSIVE and could easily feed 3-4 people. It was good, nothing to standout but a very good classic fried rice. The wings came out after and were hot and crispy. It comes with a lemon pepper sauce on the side, which was super lemony - great if you like that but I wasn't too big a fan of it. The wings were juicy and fresh, though I will say I did expect a bit more flavor. There was only one piece at the bottom that had a generous coat of the seasoning which I thought was super tasty. Overall, good spot! I'm not sure I'd wait super long for it, but glad I got to try.
