Was hesitant to try this spot with the variance in reviews but bit the bullet since my regular pho restaurant has been disappointing lately. I am SO happy that I ordered from here! The appetizer portions were great, and soup was a good size. I will say that the meat portion was a bit small. What makes it all worth it was the broth! It was a perfect, flavourful and light soup broth which i would honestly order on its own - feels the closest to authentic I've had in Vancouver. I did get delivery so I can't talk on the service, but the food was very hot and very quick! I know that parking can be busy but it is available right out front. Will definitely make this spot my go to for pho for now on! read more

The spring roll appetizer and the pho with extra tendon was alright, and the tendon was really tender and well cooked. However I was disappointed by the papaya bubble tea, too sweet for my taste. read more

BETTER ICED COFFEE THAN CAFE: Let me start with the fact that we stopped by Echo Cafe next door and it was a mistake. We got overpriced, unremarkable coffee. Came here for lunch and got that vietnamese iced coffee w/ condensed milk and it was perfect. Skip the overpriced Cafes and come here instead. I only wish the coffee was filled to the brim of the cup. FOOD: Im used to the standard pho restaurant and usually go for the pork vermicelli (pork bun) but decided to try the beef vermicelli. It didn't look like much, but it was so good. Slices of beef in gravy on top of the vermicelli topped with bean sprouts, lettuce, crispy garlic and the standard pickled cucumbers. SO GOOD. My friend got the porkchop pho and it was decent. Although, it definitely had some extra non-standard toppings (broccoli and carrots). Overall large portions and good food. AMBIANCE: Kind of run down, but the vibe is a hardworking mom & pop shop with great food, so I'm not here for an ambiance. SERVICE: The man was quiet but attentive. Refilled waters when he noticed they were low and gave us another pair of chopsticks when he noticed we had dropped ours. Didn't rush us in or out. Standard good service. read more

Owned and operated by a wonderful Vietnamese lady who has family and friends as staff. We are Canadian-Vietnamese and this is our North Van go to spot. The Pho is tasty and excellent. Good sized portions. The Bun (vermicelli) dishes are all good - with our favourites being grilled pork, spring rolls, grilled shrimp, and grilled chicken combos. The special Phos are pretty good too if you are looking for something a big different. Prices have gone up a bit. Ambiance is very basic. But it's good food and a really sweet local owner - so a business worth supporting. read more

I visited for dinner on a Wed around 6:30 and I was the only person dining in. They have some vegetarian and vegan options, so I figured I'd try them out. For veggie broth options, they have a regular, a spicy, and a spicy peanut version--I went with the latter. And you can choose egg or rice noodles, so I went for the latter to make it vegan. Total was $14.30 plus tax and tip. My food arrived in under 10 minutes. The portion was very large: you get a big bowl of soup, with perfectly cooked noodles, plenty of broccoli, soft tofu, and shrewd carrots and cabbage. The broth was divine: not too rich, but perfectly peanuty from the peanut butter and perfectly spicy. It's a lighter, less creamy broth than the one from Pho Bon Moa down in Lower Lonsdale. I don't normally write reviews but I have been coming to this gem for the past 3 years and they have been a solid 5/5 always. Their veggies is always fresh (crunchy and sweet jalapeño and fresh clean sprouts and unbruised Thai basil) They've always had the freshest I've noticed. I always get the lemongrass chicken pho (dunno if it is on the menu but its special for me!!) The service is so homey and everyone is so sweet and they remember you!! This place is so underrated and needs to be noted for the best pho in north van!!! read more

Terrible customer service and food was okay I ordered through skip the dishes when my food arrived i was going through and realized i have something missing and i had extra things . They did not give me my sub, gave me a extra beef thing and 2 extra bubble teas i phoned the restaurant and explained the situation and they said they had called me letting me know that they ran out of my sub okay that was my mistake. Then they told me to keep the extra things so i did. 5 minutes later i get a call saying they are going to come pick up those extra things and i said sorry no you cant because my family had already started eating/drinking those things. So they said okay. The noodles i got were all stuck together and the bubble tea was sweeter than cotton candy my sister only had a few sips and then she threw up from it. Will not be ordering or going here and i recommend you do not either. read more

I ordered from here tonight through skip the dishes. The meat they sent for the pho soup was mostly a pile of sharp bones! I didn't realize this until I went to eat my soup and discovered that almost all of the 'meat' in the soup was just bones. I'm not talking a big piece of bone they overlooked, it was tons of little sharp pieces. It looked like maybe the scraps from some ither dish. Absolutely unbelievable. read more

Best Vietnamese on the North Shore! I have been eating at this unassuming eatery for many years on an almost weekly basis. The food served here is consistently fresh and of excellent quality. What is also amazing, after coming back after few months away on work assignments, is that when I return, it tastes exactly like I remembered it the last time. Their "Combination A" is a wonderful taste of everything and their pho soups are hearty and filling, with the spicy beef pho being particularly good. read more

First time here, this is the pho place half a block from the hospital. This is probably one of the more low quality pho restaurants I have been to, and I've been to lots across the lower mainland. Dish Ordered: L beef soup with spring role Issues: 1. The amount of meat you get is probably 30-40% less than standard pho dishes. 2. Size Large is small looking, hate to see what the small size is... 3. Price advertised on brochure by door says $9, all stickers in menu inside is $9.75 4. The spring roll is just sad looking, looks like something you would buy at 7-11. Small, little meat, oily skin. There's nothing wrong with the restaurant or staff, it just seems like they cut corners heavily to save money, which is sad because they already push a high price (a large pho should never run close to $10 ever...) So my starving self decided to jump right into one of my favorite things.... the salad roll. These pieces of shit didn't even take off the plastic wrap from storing them. They just cut it and assumed that you would see the difference between a semi-transparent rice wrap and some plastic wrap. Just about died after sticking my fingers down my throat pulling up a piece of plastic. Major hazard! They sent me the completely wrong meal as I asked for something completely different. Maybe the dine-in experience is different from the take out. I received a gift certificate from Skip the Dishes, and this was my first order. I ordered Stir Fried Beef and vegetables with Rice. I picked up the order and was very disappointed. There was no rice, but fat noodles. There was very little beef. I did phone the restaurant afterwards, and was told there had been a mistake in the order. There did not seem to be any particular concern. I will not be back. read more

I ordered delivery through Skipthedishes. Delivery was quick, pho was hot! I went with the traditional beef brisket pho and it was delicious. Portions are generous - I tried finishing the whole bowl but couldn't! So now I have left overs... but I ain't even mad.. excited is more like it :P will be ordering again. read more

I've never wrote a single review in my life although I always check people's reviews before going to a restaurant. I regret that I went to eat here and here is why! I ordered chow mien chicken and beside that there was a lot of chicken cartilages in my food there was an extra use of MSG that made me feel dizzy and sleepy which I couldn't function and couldn't speak properly!!!! I got stomach upset right after I ate the food and I felt sweaty and then sleepy!!! I had to have a nap right after I ate it and after I woke up my brain and stomach were still the same which i assume that my digestive system haven't get ride of it as yet. I'm not sure how long I will have dizzy brain but I had to drink lots of liquids and pee until get ride of this chemical and my brain function normally again!
